Took out some lunch the other day, and I am happy with the experience. The large pizza was big enough to feed five people, although the crust was a little tough to chew. I also had the chicken wings and some garlic knots, both of which were tasty. The dining area is a little small, and doesn’t have much atmosphere, so don’t expect much there. Service was prompt and exceptional.

Unfortunately, this«joint» has changed owners so many times that it has lost its touch it once had years ago. You used to get a real NY slice there. I am from Brooklyn, by the way, I know great pizza. You used to eat here with all the employee’s from NY and enjoy a slice and a game. I moved out west(near the restaurant) about 8 years ago. I loved this place, five stars. But it changed hands at least three times. Each time the«sauce» got worse and worse. Now, it is not very good. I wish they kept the same receipt, it is so close to us we would eat it all the time. But at last, they did not so I do not… They get two stars for being a clean store front and cheep.

Great Italian food at an affordable price, I most often visit for lunch when I’m in the area. Nice staff. I recommend the spaghetti with meatballs. The complimentary bread is cheap but I’m not there to eat bread anyways! In response to some other reviewers. I always dine-in; the place is small, but usually not busy and I can eat in peace without being bothered and free refills. Tori F: do you put on gloves to cook at home? Do you think Olive Garden chefs wear gloves in the back? Haha no and no. Honestly I’m on your side, but it’s pretty standard practice in a lot of eating places to practice hand hygiene by washing, they aren’t doing anything that every other place isn’t doing as well. I do recommend!

I moved into an area near Jay’s about a year ago. They’re essentially next door to me so I tried them. No complaints whatsoever THEN — but this is NOW. It turns out that a married couple had owned this place for a number of years, then sold it or leased it to a guy, I believe, from Long Island. That’s the Jay’s we really liked. Last night we ordered again. I learned that the couple is back running Jay’s, but was assured that the food is the same as ever. It’s not even close. First thing I saw when I walked up to the door? At a small table right outside the entrance there were two older, dark-haired women sucking furiously at their cigarettes. Wading through the haze of smoke, I entered the restaurant where there had apparently been some misunderstanding about our order. I waited about ten minutes longer than I should have. We did not get a pizza. Had the chicken marsala and a simple baked ziti with an order of cheese garlic bread. This was among the worst Italian food we’ve ever had anywhere! The garlic bread was particularly egregious: cheese not fully melted over garlic cloves! Oh, and the women smoking? GREAT first impression! They were part of the ownership and family! Might be time for them to try another line of work.

There are a few local pizzeria’s in West Palm Beach that taste really good. Jay’s Pizza has to be one of them. We mostly ordered Pizza from this pizzeria for years(maybe around 6 — 7 years) but do to distance we had to order Pizza at a different local one now. Since the pizzeria is small, its not best to eat at the restaurant… just order, pick up and take it to your house. The pizzeria is next to a Public, so if you want you can order your Pizza, do your errands, and by the time you come back its ready to be picked up.

AMAZING!!! My husband and I were in the mood for good pizza, googled Italian pizza and checked which was closer to home. Long story short, we’ve never had Jays Pizza before but now have a new FAVORITE pizza joint. The staff was super nice. We placed the order and went back to our car to wait the 15 – 20 minutes the suggested it took to bake. As my husband was getting ready to head back inside to check up on the pizza, the girl who attend to us was making it to our car with our order. I thought that was extremely sweet of hers. I was surprised to see how large a medium pie actually is. The pizza looked and smelled delicious, it tasted better than it looked. We also had their garlic bread and oh my, it is to die for. Definitely will come back for more of this delicious peace of heaven.

Before shopping at the nearby Publix supermarket this midday(remembering if you food shop on a full stomach, you make less impulsive purchases), I made my first journey into Jay’s for a lunch special of 2NY style pizza slices + drink for $ 5. Good pizza with a great crust. Pizza earns a 4 or 5 star rating, when I enjoy the pizza & the crust. Counter person was pleasant. It earned a return trip or take out. A worthy local pizza joint.

DONOTEATHERE! ITISUNSANITARY! What I I witnessed yesterday was unlike anything I have ever seen in a restaurant! The employees including the owner/manager do not use gloves to handle the food. I stood there in shock while I was waiting for my pie to be done. I saw the employees handling the dough, toppings for the pizzas, etc. all while not wearing gloves! There were cash transactions being made, the phone was being answered, the credit machine was being used and the manager/owner and workers were handling food in between these transactions! The straw that broke the camels back for me, was the worker was chopping up food and cut his finger. He continued to handle the FOOD!!! He was preparing a calzone. He kept touching the food and blood was on the dough! He must have realized the blood was not going to stop, so he stopped what he was doing and tried to wipe the blood off of the calzone! When he looked up, his eyes met mine and he must have known right then that I SAW what happened and that he was not going to get away with hiding his actions! He ran into the back. I immediately made the owner/manager aware what I was witnessing. I stated that this is a HUGE health code violation and I did not want my pie that I was waiting for. I wanted my money back! He gave my money back right away. He said he was sorry and his reaction, to me looked like he knew what was happening was wrong. I am appalled by what I saw. It was very upsetting to me. I am a huge believer in justice. What I witnessed here at this pizza place was so disgusting I HAD to write this review and get the word out! MY3 year old SON would have eaten the pizza that night from this DIRTY, UNSANITARY place! I would give this place ZERO stars if I could.

I have to say, I was really impressed. I love pizza, and I love good pizza. We went here on a Friday night and when we got there it was pretty empty, but there were a lot of people picking up delivery items. It a small restaurant, it will maybe hold 30 people maximum. We quickly placed our order, a salad, garlic knots and a large pizza, half plain cheese and the other half, grilled chicken and mushrooms. The salad and rolls quickly came out and they were excellent. Then the pizza came out, it was also very good. I think that because we on;y ordered toppings on half the pizza, they gave us all the toppings on one side because that half of the pizza was packed! I thoroughly enjoyed all parts of this meal. Now, the only reason this isn’t getting a 5 star rating was because of the service. As we sat there, pretty much all the tables filled up. Our waitress was awesome and was really trying to get everyone’s orders, drinks refilled, etc. On top of answering the phone and checking people out. She was running around, doing her best, but there were just too many people there for her to quickly get to everyone. It didn’t bother us, but other patron’s seemed irritated with the situation. Overall, great food, great price and great location.

Ordered an extra large pepperoni for pickup. Service was fine but the pizza was bad, severely undercooked and probably poor quality ingredients. If you’re in the area, Romeo’s Famous in the BP station on the corner of Okeechobee and Jog is far superior, as is Grandma’s on 441 near Belvedere.

Very disappointed in this place. They never get the order right. This is the second time I tried Jays. I will not be back. Ordered a pepperoni pizza. They actually just throw pepperoni on a cheese pizza. I saw them do it. Ordered also a margarita pizza. I should have not been surprised when I opened the box. It was a plain pizza. Would like to give a negative star.

I have long been a fan of the pizza at Jays, but my most recent visit was very disappointing. The slice of pizza we had was good but the rest of our meal was awful. The Veal Parm sub was terrible. The extremely thin slice of veal was mushy and dark brown and had a very strange taste. It reminded me a a frozen Steakum gone bad. My stomache and bowels paid the price for 24 hours. The skimpy portion of calamari rings had to have been frozen and then over cooked and sauce served with it was tasteless. On top of the bad food we waited almost a half hour for the sub and calamari. On a bright note the counter/server was very nice and attentive. I will try the Pizza again from Jays but thats all I’d ever order again.

They don’t take credit cards and won’t ring you up or give you your drink until the pizza is finished. Pizza was ok but bad management

Simply put, this place is a gem. We’ve been here a few times now, and the food is always extraordinary. How do you know if an Italian restaurant is legit? You bring along a native New Yorker and have them try the pizza. Jay’s Pizza passed with flying colors. In addition to being delicious, the food is also very nicely priced. You can get away with eating a lot while spending very little. This place is on Okeechobee Blvd. just east of 441(in the Publix shopping plaza). Stop by when you want good Italian food.

My husband and I are always looking for great pizza. Jay’s happens to be right next to our neighborhood and we often order from here. The only downside… they don’t have delivery. Their menu has all the Italian basics so anyone would be able to find something to satisfy their hunger. I love that you can customize a pizza, like last night with my shrimp and ricotta toppings. They have a few tables so if you are looking to dine in, you can do so. Nothing like getting your pizza hot and fresh right out of the oven!
