This was my second time going to this place since La Salsa closed and I will not be going back. The food is overpriced and not very good compared to competitors and clearly they use a lot of canned tomatoes in their salsa. I am also very concerned about the hygiene here. The employees that were preparing the food shook hands with some people and hugged them with their gloves on. After they went to continue to prepare food I asked the person who I thought was the manager if they could change their gloves and she did make them do it but then I heard her mutter«unbelievable» under her breath. This is not a place I would patronage again with far better places(that are cheaper) around.

Disappointing. Might as well be Taco Bell Heck that’s an insult to Taco Bell. The«queso dip» is basically velveeta. Exactly like the glow in the dark stuff you get on nachos in the movie theater. Being in an area surrounded by beaches, I was hoping the fish on my salad would be fresh. NOT so. Skip this place.

This is a wonderful taco joint if you’re a frontal lobotomy patient and taste is not an issue. This has to be the most bland Mexican food that I’ve ever experienced. I will admit, coming from New Mexico for a time, that I like hot, so the mushy carrots and dull jalapenos in the«salsa» bar aren’t wowing me, but c’mon folks. I had a taco and burrito. The burrito is hard, not soft, and the meat is flavorless and bland. The shrimp taco was better, but even then it was just shrimp. No spice. No kick. A real tacqueria this is not. Even other Tacos Al Carbon chain stores have this place beat.

Taco Vida is a near miss for me. They have a strange combination of ingredients, with mayonnaise being a dominant ingredient in my burrito on both visits. Also, because the burrito was sopping with mayonnaise(still baffles me), the paper that it was served on was sopping wet within seconds, quickly torn by my knife as I attempted to eat an incredibly soppy burrito, and then everything feel through the red plastic basket that they served it in. Not so great. At least with the salsa bar you can spice it as you like. Great idea, but poorly executed. Oh, and what’s with the philly steak burrito? Fries inside a burrito just seems wrong.

La Salsa is now called Taco Vida. Same furniture inside, new people and menu. Unfortunately, it was better when it was La Salsa. My chicken burrito was light on the chicken, and also light on flavor. The chips are good and so is the mango salsa, but the rest needs work. Hopefully they are around long enough to improve.

Yep, it’s now Taco Vida, but on my first day in town, tired and hungry, this place met my expectations. The chips are good, as are the salads and tacos… and of course the cerveza…

Ehh, it’s ok. I prefer Chipotle or Colombia restaurant. Food is nothing great. I guess it’s ok if you are starving and want something fast?
