Taco Vida

Update: Closed. This was the last location of the Taco Vida chain. They will be missed.
Torrero’s (same plaza, roughly 100′ away) serves excellent Mexican food and provides a good alternative for this Village Plaza location.
Fast, good quality Fresh-​Mex. They have the option of Shrimp, which some casual Fresh-​Mex options do not.
Can be so-​so depending on the cook of the day; overall, it’s generally pretty good, on the healthier side, and I’d recommend it.
Salsa bar is usually fresh and well-​kept. It was a lot better in the past (back when they offered pico, now replaced with a more watery-​textured salsa).
If you decide you’re prefer a full-​service restaurant rather than casual-​dine, try Torrero’s just North (to the right) about 100-​feet, they are a full-​service Mexican restaurant that is one of the best in the area.

This place is great! I got the Chipotle Chicken Burrito, which i was told was their best seller, and I can see why. Everything tasted fresh and was a great portion size. I particularly liked the chipotle sauce and the mango salsa that was included with their free salsa bar! Taco Vida is a great spot for a quick filling lunch and I will definitely be coming here again!

This place is awesome. Coming from San Diego I really missed California burritos since they are nearly impossible to find out here. Luckily, Taco Vida makes them better than I could find back home! Seasoned curly fries with carne asada, insanely good. Get it with the chipotle sauce and you’ll be addicted! The salsa bar is always fresh which is huge as well.

Amazing food that has lots of fresh toppings. The staff is also very nice and take personal interest in the store.

Katherine was great! Being from Texas I’m very picky with tacos and have not found any good Mexican restaurants here until I went to WPB ! She made my tacos Texas style just for me! With just cilantro and onion plus she was very nice and polite. It not often you find great food and great service at the same time!

Poor service and experience upon arrival. My sister had ordered first and was then I ignored when it was my turn to place my order. Our meals came to our table pretty quickly as there was only one other table seated in the place. As we began to start to eat our meals I noticed something moving on my plate. There was a BUG in my taco salad! Quickly after placing my dish aside my sister found a HAIR tangled with the cheese in her taco. When she brought this up to the cashier she simply shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. We did not get offered to have our meals remade or a refund. Let’s just say we will not be returning, and I would advise you against eating here.

Place was not good! Food was horrible. It was also cold. Place was empty, ambiance was horrible. I do not recommend this place to anyone

My friend and I visited & both ordered the mahi mahi fajitas & guacamole. After ordering we found out they were out of the guacamole. The pleasant woman who rang Us out apologized, told us they were trying to get avocados to make it for us and if they couldn’t get them before we left, she’d give us a refund for it. She brought out pico for us and after she found out they couldn’t get the avocados, she brought me the Mexican fried ice cream– which tasted good…
The food tastes good, but wasn’t overall killer. Never did get the money back for the guacamole.
The woman working there made the situation pleasant and better than what I would have imagined.

This restaurant has gone DOWN HILL. it was terrible. I went with three people and we all ordered different things and they were all very bad. I ordered three different types of tacos and each of them fell apart right when I picked them up. They were soggy and each tortilla split down the middle. My friend asked for three different things out of his burrito, but they were all still in there and the Spanish lady was not understanding what the problem was… They have specials including draft beers, but told us they didn’t have any… Will never go back.

So far the service is quite courteous. Can’t wait to take a bite of what appears to very appetizing food…

A friend took me here saying it was great a really great restaurant. Well he was right… everything tasted authentic and homemade. It’s a small place but it was clean and very efficiently run. In my opinion clearly a five-​star they earned my business and I’ll be back.
P. S. I brought home a burrito for my son and he absolutely loved it too. Anyone who has teens at home knows how hard it is to please them. Rob

This place SUCKS! over-​priced food, does not taste authentic. I rather go to Taco Bell than eat at this place, there tables are always dirty and greasy, they have horrible customer service. The owner is a big asshole! my little brother got a job there since he lives across the street, and they had him come in to clean and never put him on payroll or anything, when calling owner to confirm schedule he says he was «trying» him out. REALLY? what a loser. This place is shit.

Wow! !!! I felt like I was on a radio show being pranked! Tried to place an order over the phone. A little bit of a language barrier which was fine. I placed an order for two burritos one vida and the other a regular and a large guacamole. .She gave me three different totals for the same order 36 dollars 29 dollars than 27 dollars. I I forgot to mention I asked if they delivered she said yes we do. That was asked before the order was placed. After getting the order straighten out she said it will be 10 minutes I started to give her my address O no we don’t deliver here is the number to the company that does! Lol I hope t taste better than the ordering experience. Stay tuned FOOD SUCKED!!!

Great place for a quick lunch. On Tuesdays they have $ 2 tacos and BOGO select drafts. Excellent eclectic menu, including mahi mahi and crazy salads, all alongside traditional Mexican food. Full bar also! Good service. This was 4 stars because they advertised the bet special and they were pout of all their drafts except for Angry Orchard. Not something I wanted to drink with my tacos.

Terrible service. The girl working behind the counter forgot our drinks, left the food sitting for 5 minutes while taking care of another customer. Never again

First visit and just found ¾″ live roach in take out chicken salad that was enclosed in their white plastic bag, so clearly it came from inside the restaurant. Freaked me out. I know something like this is possible in the food service industry, but it is just hard to get over this.
Took video immediately with my cell in case anyone does not believe this.
Update: Returned food and received no questions asked refund, plus apology. Manager showed receipt from well known pest control company who had treated the entire restaurant only three days ago. Plus, manager discarded all visible lettuce into the trash. This shows me that they at least they take preventative measures to control pests so maybe this roach hitchhiked into the restaurant with the veggies in the last 24 hours.
Raised from one star to three, due to the way they handled the problem. Hope this never happens to anyone else anywhere.

Awesome awesome place! Everything we’ve had there is delicious and fresh! People are super friendly, and the menu selection is great!
Just wish they would stay open longer!

There is a reason why this place is empty … It’s was fair at best and overpriced for the flavor … If you name your place
Taco Vida it better be a good taco !!! ALSO they offer a salsa bar … That consisted of 3 salsas old cilantro and raw onions (see photo) If I were you I’d try something else … On a positive note the staff was very nice !!

This place is awesome. Taco Vida definitely plays up the authentic side of Mexican resturaunts. Ever been to Homestead? If you have you’ll get what I mean. Up in these neck of the woods is a lot less sketchy.
In addition, this place is EXTREMELY CLEAN! While I was there they were constantly wiping down surfaces. Been here almost weekly, and each visit is consistent.
