I have been a customer of Wicked Sharp for several years, mostly skate sharpening(monthly), but also bought a ski helmet and had skis tuned here. A+ rating for value, service, expertise, and being a local business(part of West Roxbury Main Streets).

The guy working tonight was helpful, friendly and incredibly efficient, despite working alone with an endless line of customers. Awesome prices on used ski packages too, best I could find.

They had our skis for a full two weeks and when I tried to pick them up I was told they weren’t ready. This is the 2nd year in a row that’s happened! Good thing there’s no snow on the ground. On top of that, my edges barely look like they were touched. They’re still pretty rough. Staff is poorly trained. When I dropped off the skis there was a new guy who didn’t really know how to write up the slips and he overcharged me. When I went to pick them up there was a new girl who couldn’t find the paperwork or our skis for about 10 mins, and the shop is pretty small! Don’t think I’ll be going back.

The best place to stop in Boston if you are looking to get your skis waxed or tuned up. Also they only carry top of the line products and are very knowledgable and nice.

Very friendly people! I’d advise to be very careful when purchasing boots. You want them to be snug on your feet, so you can steer your turns while skiing. Boots should not be loose on your feet. Walk around in them, and see how the they feel before purchasing them. I had to go back in and get a new pair due to wrong sizing. Also, call beforehand to save yourself time. Not everyone there can adjust the boot onto the ski directly at the time of purchase, so I would go into after verifying it’s a possibility. All in all, great prices, friendly people.

Purchased some demo skis from last yr for my wife’s Christmas present. Also got my kids set up with used skis for the year. Everyone was pleased! What I most appreciate is the customer care. Great with my kids and helpful in educating me(a snowboarder) on ski equipment. A great addition to the neighborhood!

I buy skis and boots for the family here — love the small business vibe, nice and accommodating folks and have a nice program to get used skis and boots for the kids

I am ONLY reviewing the skate sharpening! I play hockey and have had my skates sharpened here. I have only had them sharpened once, but I have big plans to go back. The sharpening was great. Easy parking, cheap, and a GREAT sharpening.

As close to a neighborhood ski shop as you can get. First encountered these guys at a demo day at Blue Hills(home of the 40-second ski experience), hawking excellent Head skis. Decided to check out their store front on Centre Street in West Roxbury to look for new poles. It turns out, Wicked Sharp is a descendant of the late SkiMarket, which went belly-up a few years ago. Perhaps it was a function of my late-season visit, but storefront selection was pretty sparse — though what they had were high end skis and soft goods. With aggressive custom-order pricing, this is the place you’d go to procure a specific set of boards. Conversely, not so perfect for poking around for the perfect ski boot. Ends up, carbon composite pole selection was quite limited(again, have to custom order), so I walked out empty-handed. Do ask about Wicked Sharp’s performance demo program — free or nearly free top-end ski rentals, with the expectation that they’ll sell out their stock to satisfied users by the end of the season. Not surprisingly, no demo sales.

On the advice of my friend Collin(who’s one of the founders of Bean Snowboards, an awesome Boston-based snowboarding co!) went to wicked sharp earlier today to get me some skis! I had an AWESOME experience. I met with JP, who was super nice, helpful and down to earth. It’s clear that these guys are passionate about spreading the joy of skiing/boarding. He answered all of my questions, gave me a ton of good advice and really took the time to make sure I was happy with what I was buying. He didn’t push any unwanted/unnecessary gear on me, which is really refreshing. It was super convenient because I didn’t have to make an appointment to get fitted, I walked in and was helped right away. They’re having a big sale this weekend so I got great deals on quality equipment. I can’t wait to go pick up my skis this week so I can hang out with JP and his dog again! ps: this is the first review I’ve ever given on Unilocal, which shows how great of an experience this was.

LOVE my new skis that I demo-ed and purchased from here. There was really friendly staff, a cute puppy to distract me from the ski-purchasing task(in a good way). The sales staff is definitely no-pressure and are happy to answer questions. They will happily take different price ranges into consideration. Great little shop.

Absolutely the worst place to get your skates sharpened. They’re even more dull than when I brought them in.

This place was amazing. A very small shop with very large service. The owner was wonderful. I had been looking for affordable used skis for my daughter and he still had those in stock. The owner was very friendly and spent a lot of time with us, providing very personalized and honest service. Despite the same day, last minute request to get my skis tuned he was able to accommodate us. My skis looked fantastic and I was finally able to enjoy some skiing this winter. I can’t tell you how much better it was to deal with this local store than one of the ridiculously huge and expensive super stores. In fact I had to go to east coast alpine and they were unbelievably rude and obnoxious. I will never shop anywhere else again.

Took my girlfriend here for boots, poles and demo skis. They let us take the skis for a weekend, and she ended up buying them because she enjoyed them so much. Staff is super friendly, laid back and knowledgeable. Great pricing too.

Clueless about ski tuning! Maybe good with skates but do NOT bring your skis here!
