I give it only one star because at time of reviewing I think the place is not open for business anymore. However, this bar has been a Broderick staple before I moved to the area 20 years ago. This has great potential but I’m afraid the past reputation of gang activity at this location over time became bad for buisness. Over the last few years it has gotten less and less traffic. The last year there were many night it was just the bartender &1 car.

If it’s a dive bar you’re looking for, look no further than the cuts of West Sac. I think it’s been around for a long time, as you can tell by it’s simple interior(and exterior, for that matter). There’s a pool table, an old TV, a shuffleboard in the back, a little stage and dance floor. It’s owned and operated by a nice family, and from talking to the handful of regulars, they’re trying to improve it’s image from a gang hangout to a fun, safe place to have a drink and listen to some music. Friday nites they’ve got a DJ playing old skool funk and have $ 1 street tacos. They occasionally host some live local rap shows too. Not sure if they’re in the middle of a remodel, but the women’s only stall in the restroom doesn’t have a door… just a heads up. Hahaha! Don’t be scurred… just check it out if you happen to be across the river.
