Terrific staff and food. Everything is home made and I found that they would alter their menu according to my desire. i. e they were serving escarole as a side dish; I asked that they prepare me a veal dish using same. No prob! I’ve not found personal service like that except at hi-end eateries. They have a unique dish«Spadina» never had anything like it in my life– Awesome! Their Grandmother’s recipe.

Monte Carlo is my favorite old school Italian restaurant. It’s not a modern place, but that is its charm. No one can beat their consistency over the years. The lunch specials are the best value around. Warm bread, soup or salad and a warm entrée for under $ 10.

Many years ago I wrote a review on this restaurant, have a little more tidbits to add. First, you will not find a better Chicken Francais or Beef Marsala in the entire pioneer valley, and possibly the state; yes I have had Typical Sicilian, and I have eaten in the north end of Boston, and it doesn’t come close to the Monte offers. Secondly, the folks who work there are some of the nicest people you could ever ask for in a restaurant staff. Most have been working there for 10+ years, and always happy to see you drop by, and always courteous and professional. Have had nothing but great dining experiences here for the last 20 years of my life and consider myself lucky to have a place like the Monte Carlo in the proverbial backyard.

Older crowd and dated atmosphere. The food and service was mediocre. Definitely over priced.

This is a hidden jewel for Italian food in west springfield, there lunch menu is one of the best for the value and the quality of the food, give the Monte Carlo a try for lunch you won’t be disappointed.

Now many who know this town may slightly not think too bit of much of this spot especially those from out of town but let this guy tell you you’re slipping on this gem. This place by far as I’ve seen in her has pretty good specials for all styles which be either meat or seafood or poultry. Great soups & great meals whether be specials or general ones & she can be zuppa pesce & the apps are real great. atmosphere is great because they got great feel whether be bar or seating area. These guys are no doubt the sleepers of Italian restaurants in the area. Value is also good for apps & meals in my book.

I may be a little biased because we know the owners and have been going to the Monte forever, but I can honestly say that this is a great place for a good solid meal. I prefer to eat in the lounge area and find the service to be good. My go-to meal here is the Veal Marsala but almost all of their offerings are consistent and high-quality. In fact, while I see a lot of the other local long-standing restaurants slacking off, Monte Carlo’s food quality seems to be improving! The menu choices are pretty standard Italian fare, nothing fancy or über-modern, but fresh ingredients and attention to detail are amazing. I’ve eaten here probably 50 times or more and have never had a problem with the food. Yes, the décor is dated, but the food never disappoints. I would love to see the place totally updated but I will always go back again and again no matter what. The specials are great and the salads are very fresh. The don’t do spiced olive oil with dipping bread, which would be nice, but you do get bread with every meal. The ricotta cheese cake is incredible! Wine list a little limited but I always find something that works. The owners are wonderful people and the clientele is great too.

This place has been a staple Italian restaurant in Western Mass for years! I was a bit disappointed on this most recent visit. The flavors in the food seemed really off. The chicken piccata was overly lemony, and the butternut squash tasted over-sweet, like too much white sugar had been dumped in. No one in our rather large party was too impressed.

Overpriced restaurant with very mediocre food at best. $ 21 for shrimp scampi with 6 medium sized shrimp and 3 lbs of noodles. Chicken Fracise had too much lemon or something and it was so sour. The chicken was soggy. Ugh, what a waste of money. Lastly, we did not receive good service. Monte Carlo, I’d rather be at a chain Italian place than here.

The food is outstanding. They have easily the best veal I have ever eaten. It is so tender that you could cut it with a plastic fork if they gave you one. The portions are good size(not giant but you don’t leave hungry. The spadina appetizer is the best appetizer i have ever had. The calamari is very fresh and tender. Veal dishes are all great. seafood and steak dishes are very good too. The best part is the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great Italian meal.

This place is a throw back to a different era but not in a bad way… the décor is certainly dated and the age other diners is deff older. It’s almost comical. But we eat here once a month or so and the service is always good and the food is tasty. Everyone is friendly and it’s nice to see the same servers each time we go. If you want a good meal without a lot of flash this is a good choice.

I have eaten at over 30 Italian restaurants in this area and more in various states and I have yet to find a restaraunt that has a better beef marsala or chicken francais then this restaurant. If your looking for the Italian restaurant that can give you a taste on par with some of the better restaurants in Boston’s north end, you will not be disapointed with either of these dishes.
