We have been coming to the Vineyard for a few years and never leave without trips for our Liz Lemon sandwich, what a treat!

I also loved the Liz Lemon sandwich! A bit pricey(but that’s the island), great food and decent staff. Looking forward to going back and trying other items off the menu. There isn’t seating in the establishment(has a small country kitchen/store feel going on) but there is a long bench for bike riders looking to grab a quick bite and breather. If you want to sit down at a table to enjoy the food, just head across the street to the public library for outdoor tables.

Love the Liz Lemon one of my favorite sandwiches on the island. Everyone is always friendly and the casual outside seating is a favorite of mine. You also never know who you’ll see(celebs) walking through the door.

We were cycling around Martha’s vineyard and this happened to be where we were at lunchtime. What a treat! The sandwiches were great. I had the Liz Lemon, and my wife the tuna salad. The bread was perfect for sandwiches, they were stacked high and made fresh. While I will admit that when cycling, almost any food tastes good, this place was definitely a cut above. Don’t be fooled by the lackluster exterior, the food is wonderful.

It should be noted that this place has a bench outside and no real tables and chairs inside anywhere. Not good for kids. How would that be «good for kids»?

God for bid that you are one minute past 11:00am because they won’t serve you breakfast. Really how tough is it to serve someone an egg sandwich at 11:01am. Being in the restaurant business i can tell you it’s not. If you want customer service and breakfast go somewhere else that’s what we did.

No denying the greatness of the sandwiches at this place, but when you call in an order 15 minutes before you get there and have to wait in line for 20 minutes just to pick it up, I find myself thinking is it worth it? You’d think after selling a million sandwiches @ $ 10 or more a piece they’d spring for a pick up line. Just saying

Compost cookies and an iced coffee made for a great snack! Everything in there looked delicious, but we had already eaten lunch and just needed a mid-afternoon pick me up. We came to the right spot!

Yeah it’s a little better than ok. I could walk here last year and did just about every day. Pastries are as big as your face. In the beginning that was exciting but then it faded. You don’t really feel healthy doing that every day. You can find nice salads to go as well as vegetarian lunch items. The dry food area was sparse this year compared to last. Not sure if they are restocking or phasing out. Your only real stop on this stretch of road heading up island until you get to Chilmark’s little store. There’s generally a line.

In the Summer of the Egg Sandwich, 7a makes its mark with the biscuit. Get one and hustle on down to the Farmers Market to browse. No better way to spend a(Saturday or Wednesday for the Farmers Market) morning on the island. Well, maybe go swimming at Aquinnah at daybreak first. Then it’d be perfect.

A quick preface, my wife and I both love 7a, and look forward to stopping there each time we come to the Vineyard. So, when I told my wife I was going to give them a 4/5, she told me I just may end up in a shallow sandy grave before the end of the vacation. However, some things just have to be said. First, what we love: Almost everything. We are huge fans of Dan Sauer and his wife Wenonah, the Owner/chef/oprerators of 7a. We are amazed at the healthy, creative, amazing combinations found in each of their sandwiches. Admittedly, with 5 or 6 selections on a changing basis, it’s selection can be called limited, but you will find something you love with no trouble. The baked goods are exemplary and fresh, and the staff has always been pleasant and helpful. For breakfast suggestions we did a little pre-yelping and found out that the sandwich of choice was a breakfast biscuit. As New Englanders who have spend signifiant time in North Carolina as well as Georgia, this sounded like heaven. The reality fell short. I had the sausage egg and cheese biscuit, others ordered bacon egg and sausage biscuits and my wife swam upstream with a bagel with lox. The in house sausage was amazing. Subtle seasonings including fennel allowed the pork and pork fat flavors through and was thoroughly enjoyable. The lox bagel with compote of lemon and caper with red onion and spinach was delicious and light. The house made biscuit, however was a real disappointment. As a southern biscuit lover(too much so, my wife and cholesterol keep reminding me) I look forward to the soft, crumbly almost unctuous mouth feel and rich savory shortbread taste to augment the sandwich and send my cardiologist into seizures. 7a’s biscuits were overly cakey, breaking, not crumbling, with a complete lack of that certain decadent umami that is required of a good biscuit. All in all, still a good breakfast. But, with the bar set so high on the rest of his menu, I wanted more from my breakfast. I hope my wife will talk to me on the ferry ride home.

Great local foods here! My wife had the curry lentil soup with cilantro and I had the organic local bratwurst!

Some of the best food on Martha’s Vineyard! Everything here is delicious especially the egg sandwich, the oatmeal and all their baked goods. I even love their bagels and locks and that’s coming from a New Yorker. The chicken salad sandwich is also incredible.

Oh my god, their breakfast sandwiches. And coffee. And baked goods. And sandwiches. And employees.

This local take out spot is excellent for breakfast or lunch. The breakfast sandwich is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Fresh homemade biscuit with fresh sausage, farm egg, and cheese. Life doesn’t get much better. Good coffee too. There’s usually a line, and no place to sit, but it’s so Vineyard!

Locals took us to this sandwich shop while we were visiting. Lunchtime may sometimes be very crowded. That’s because the food here is outstanding! I had a «Liz Lemon» — housemade pastrami, turkey, Swiss and coleslaw. I wanted to make sure I loved it so I went back the next day to get it again. Yah, it’s that good. The Mrs. loved her seasonal veg sandwich — snap peas with ricotta, pea shoots on focaccia. I believe they’re closed the first few months of the year for winter so call to check. While there are a couple of benches outside, the food is takeout. If visiting MV, make sure to check it out.

5 simple sandwiches because they only offer a few to start but my meatball walked out the door with another patron, only to be chased down by the counter girl because she realized she did wrong. My meatball was unwrapped by the patron and just folded back up and shover in a bag. My other 4 sandwiches were finely tightly wrapped. Just a lil miffed that she let another person touch my meatball. With all the other selection of places to go I might never return. My other sandwiches tasted fine but that is just a turn off.

7a Foods makes the most amazing jalapeño cheddar biscuits! I was so excited to score the last 3 one morning. The biscuits are so soft with a perfect salty and hint of spice balance. If only I could have some sent to me for my Sunday morning breakfast… For my late day snack, I went back and enjoyed some more goodies! I had molasses ginger cookies, which tastes DELICIOUS! Then I coupled it with 7a Foods salted caramel ice cream, yum! I love the fact that their food is made fresh daily, which gives it that homemade from grandma taste, sprinkled with a touch of love. RECOMMENDATION: Come early(when they open) to ensure you get what you want for breakfast. They ran out of jalapeño biscuits by 8:30a!
