Finally, there is a good sushi restaurant on the west side. I’ve been to this place a number of times and have loved everything I’ve ordered. The sushi is a tad pricey if you’re comparing it to places like Yi Sushi or Ichiban, but hey, if you want good sushi, that comes with the territory, and this is indeed good sushi. It’s beautifully presented and tastes amazing. I’m also a big fan of their bento style dinner box, which is a good option if you’re on a budget, not really in the mood for sushi, or if you can’t decide what to order and want some variety. It’s a good amount of tasty items for a great price. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite sushi spots in the valley.

Nicely remodeled, dishes are plated with modern flare, flavors are good, but the prices are too high. I can get better flavors across the street at Banzai Teppan Yaki for half the price. Just not a good enough value here to bring me back.

Meticulous and prepared with care is how I would describe the food here at Mizu. First of all the tempura shrimp has the perfect texture. It is soft melt in your mouth goodness with a light crunch. We ordered the teriyaki steak which was good quality beef. Sashimi were huge portions and was also melt in your mouth. I cant wait to come back and try more rolls. Great food and value. You can tell they really took their time to prepare your meal.

Place was quite far from my home area. Food was decent, service was lacking for only having 3 customers in the restaurant. Liked the interior and the music was pretty cool. If they can just step it up in service I would think with the food it would be a good 4 star place.

I was really excited to try this place, I was not impressed. I read the reviews and it looked really good. The only good things were the batman and mind eraser roll. My husband doesn’t really love sushi but he goes for me and we can usually find something on the menu he will like, we couldn’t find him any sushi on the menu that he would like :(we have a 2 year old that liked the California roll but there was not noodles or anything that he could really eat. It was very pricey and they didn’t refill our drinks we had to ask them twice. We also ordered the calamari and not impressed at all, I was really hoping for it to be better.

I was really pleasantly surprised. Joints this far west have a bad name and a worse service reputation usually. We had a great meal. All the sushi seemed fresh, the tempura wasn’t greasy, the servers were on point. Portions were large, and while they’re offering some weird rolls, the standby ones were great. They seemed happy to accommodate special dietary requests which was great.

We’ve been here twice now and everything we’ve tasted has been absolutely delicious. This might just be my new favorite sushi spot. Great prices and very generous portions. Service was spot on and their attention to detail is top notch! Coming from California we have pretty high standards for sushi and this place did not disappoint!

WARNING: My review is not based on the sushi, at all. Mizu is the old Lokal’s bar. They’ve remodeled with a very nice set up. The sushi bar is super nice and makes the restaurant seem a little more high-end. I should definitely try the sushi and do an update review. We arrived on a Saturday night for dinner. There we’re only about 3 other tables, probably because it’s still new. We started with the Crispy Soft Shell Crab($ 7.95) — the breading was a little too thick, making it hard but the crab seemed fresh. It came with a plum-like sauce for dipping which I wasn’t really a fan of. We asked for tempura sauce instead and meh, it was still okay. The portion was pretty generous for the price and crab. Next — a house salad with something similar to thousand island dressing, but tasting much better. I didn’t know this came with our entrée but it was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress then came with a delicious bowl of edamame. On the house since udon takes forever to cook. YAY! For our entrée, Seafood Udon Noodle Soup($ 15.95). I was also surprised by the slightly higher than normal price but I was guessing it was because of the seafood. Our waitress came out with two HUGE stone bowls of udon noodles. We instantly regretted our decision on getting the same thing. I would suggest sharing this. They also bring you out smaller bowls without question which seems to imply it’s perfect for sharing. Well. now we know. Honestly, I feel bad for giving this a 2 star rating for udon but that’s why we ALL read all the reviews, right? Not something I would get again. The soup contained mushrooms, scallops, shrimp, imitation crab, baby corn, those pink and white things I never know the name of, tofu, and fish. Udon noodles were good but the broth was very sweet and tasted mostly like mushrooms. Not a fan. I have to come back to try the sushi because of all of the reviews but i’ll know to pass on the udon now.

Fantastic little restaurant! Excellent quality and quantity! Staff is friendly and attentive. Clean and quiet. The food was top notch and there was more than enough for all of us! The menu is clear and informative. We all had a good laugh at the names they chose for their sushi rolls! I won’t spoil the surprise! My wife, daughter, and I, each had one of the dinner boxes. I would highly recommend them. We will definitely go back, and concentrate on mostly sushi next time to see how it compares! A little slice of heaven in West Valley! Enjoy.

I love this place! They have great lunch and dinner deals with beautiful presentation. I’ve come here about 4 times now: twice for weekday lunch and twice on Saturday. I love their lunch sushi deals($ 9 for 2 rolls or $ 11 for 3 rolls). Fish to rice ratio is very good and everything tastes great. They have HUGE portions for their bento box, so it’s a great deal! I also enjoy the sashimi bowls as it’s always been presented beautifully with both fresh fish and a good variety. I’d recommend avoiding their scallops because they didn’t taste fresh the two times I’ve tried them. The shu mai that comes with the dinner bentos is the frozen kind and isn’t good. Miso soup is plain and lacking. Service has been adequate every time and especially good when I went with a big party on a Saturday for lunch. There weren’t many others and they were on point with everything. Overall, I love coming here. It’s on another part of WVC that I don’t normally visit, but it’s still sorry the drive.

Truly excellent service, fresh selection of seafood, with some very creative rolls. Had; toro, uni, butterfish and inconceivable roll. House also tested us with cucumber toro roll that has a little kick to it. And, no, it’s not expensive at all. Like with everything, you get what you pay for :)

Amazing! The presentation is stunning, the food tastes delicious!!! I highly recommend this restaurant! I ordered the spider roll to start and was blown away with how beautiful it was! I almost didn’t want to eat it. It tasted as good as it looked. I had the teriyaki chicken box and it was so much food. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. I was excited that I couldn’t eat it all so I can have the leftovers tomorrow. I went in not knowing what to expect and came away happy and full. The service was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant. Try it for yourself!

Came back to try more things. Chicken katsu box — The sides were great but my main focus is on the katsu. Pretty good, sauce could use some work. Good and the meat quality doesn’t look frozen like other places. I love that the katsu comes out on a bed of veggies and the good kinds! Snow peas, asparagus, mushroom, onion, red/green pepper. Dragon roll — I don’t know what else to say. Everything you read on their description is exactly what you taste. You don’t even have to look for the taste of a specific ingredient, it’s a pretty beautiful unparallel taste of perfection. Oh did I over describe that? Well it’s that good! Definitely a fan. Mizu roll — Pretty good. A little slimy in texture though. Uhhh consider the afrodisiac of sushi. Anyway I wasn’t ready for that so I quickly went elsewhere. Salmon cerviche — I didn’t know what to expect with this. I had no idea what to expect. I think it was ever so slightly sweet. I think the addition of lemon to this plate with a dash a couple dashes of pepper would be an addition next time I try. Sakura roll — Sorry I didn’t try this one. But you have a picture.(Green roll) Sashimi roll — If you like sashimi, this is a MUST try. A perfect bundle of your main sashimi and seaweed. I really enjoyed it. Overall, I really enjoy this place. The ingredients are so fresh! It really brings your taste buds to another dimension. I hope it continues.

I’m glad they chose west valley to open a higher end sushi restaurant. I tried the spicy crab salad and the chirashi. Best chirashi I’ve had so far. Love the décor and the easy listening music.

I love this place. I can’t express the joy of a sushi place, not only replacing a pretty horrible bar, bit also opening up literally three minutes from my house. I’m also equally excited that upon entering, the décor was also nicer than I had generally expected. The entire staff was very kind. The sashimi we got was delicious. They brought us out a «chef’s special» that was on the house. I think they’re doing their best to create a good experience, so I wanted to spread the word and let you know that of you’re in the area, you should check this joint out. Oddly enough, my least favorite part was the two rolls i ordered. Not much texture, ill have to try different ones next time. The vegetable tempura was delicious though. I doubt you’ll be disappointed, especially if your expectations for dining in West Valley were as low as mine. Check out the pictures and descriptions.

The chef special was a mini app on the house! How sweet! It had crab meat, seared peppered tuna, and thinly sliced mango slices with sprouts on layered on top of tobiko. Mmmm what a little tease! It had great flavors and the texture was great. I ordered the sashimi cucumber wrap and the presentation was soooo pretty! This dish has cucumber wrapped with tuna, salmon, crab meat, and avocado. It looked like a decorated star! Guess I’m easily amused. The texture for this dish was different as you can bite into the fish feeling every little soft bite and then you get the cucumber crunch. The sauce that the pieces are sitting on top of is something I can The menu shows that the mizu roll comes with soup and salad, but it doesn’t. They later told me that it only comes with the entrée. –_– This dish doesn’t come with rice. It has spicy crab meat, salmon, avocado wrapped around tuna with seaweed on top. Again, it sits on this sauce that I can live without. Other than the sauce, I really like this. Inside the spicy crab meat they have that crunchy bits of tempura? It’s a nice little surprise. The buttery texture of the avocado completes each bite for me. $ 14 for this roll is a bit pricy, but it’s very good.

I was so excited to see this place open so near to me! It’s right across from Banzai Teppanyaki… but this place feels more authentic. It has a classy traditional japanese feel with dimmed lights. The rolls are amazing. I had a few: Mizu roll Sashimi roll Perfect match roll Alaskan roll They all had their own unique flavor to the rolls and none were covered in heavy sauces. They haven’t done a big grand opening, so it was a little quiet. The sushi chefs were attentive to us and even gave us a free roll. I am rooting for this place!

This place just opened and hasn’t had its grand opening yet. But out of all the sushi places I’ve been to, this place has one of the best fish. The environment is beautiful and plays some classy music from your favorite games of final fantasy. My only small complaint is that the sushi is a little cold but overall I enjoyed my experience here
