Service has really stepped up since last time we were here. Food still great. The weird frozen milk dessert was way too sweet, just had to try it once. Hope to come back again and see top notch service again. That is a real change for this place to have them care about their customers. Keep it up!

Korean BBQ with style. Bibimbap with ALL the sides. Delish! Appetizers and starters that go on forever. Lots of vegetarian options, the menu is a never ending list of temptations. Korean pork bbq(bulgogi) is also very excellent. You’ve got to put it on your ‘must try’ list. The dessert is good enough to visit Myung Ga for all by themselves. Lightly spun stands of frozen amazing with flavor added personality. A bit pricey but worth it.

Great food and great service. My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon this place hidden behind Ihop close to highway I-15. We ordered bibimbap, black bean paste noodles(stew), and a K-BBQ combo dish(14). The portions are a nice size for the right price. The restaurant is clean and has tons of space for large groups, but they will charge 18% gratuity for a group of 6 or more. My husband and I love Korean food and are likely to come back. We recommend this place because it’s more modern and the waitresses are very friendly. We didn’t have such good experience with the other korean restaurants around the area, so we’re glad we found this place.

Came here with a huge group. All our items came out at decent timing. Everyone ordered the combinations. The seafood soups were way too salty, it wasn’t edible. First time this has ever happened. They only had 3 servers for the entire restaurant, the servers were literally running to meet everyone’s dining needs. I ordered shaved ice for the first time, I let them pick one on their menu for me. They offer a variety of fruits and brought out a strawberry for us. It was delicious! I will be returning just for dessert!

This place was pretty empty for a 12 – 1 on a business day. There were about 4 tables filled, I was the only solo diner. The beer came promptly which was nice. I got the spicy seafood soup. I picked this item because I have been biking a lot lately and really need protein to repair my muscles. Seafood is my only option as I am not eating land animals right now. There was hardly any seafood in it. Tiny little morsels here and there. The shrimp wasn’t even peeled. I don’t know if that’s normal or not but it was really weird having to peel the shrimp while it was piping hot. The soup filled me up but the noodles did that more than anything else. The broth was delicious but I should have been more careful with my slurping because now my baby blue blouse has red spots all over it lol. It came with a side of kimchi. I ferment kimchi at home and I have done some delicious batches. This kimchi was not fermented so it was just salty. It was not good. I opted not to eat it and I am not a picky gal when it comes to food. I am a plate cleaner. Due to the lack of seafood and the unimpressive kimchi I will sadly not be coming here again. Sad because it is really close to my work and it would be convenient for lunches. This just means I’ll have to continue my search for great korean food in slc. Darn: p.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a real tool bag roommate of mine. You might know the type. The kind of guy that can’t be trusted because he once went through a phase of blending his morning shakes with kale and chicken breasts to get more«gains». Surprisingly enough though, he actually came through on this recommendation. Thanks Drew. The family style Korean dishes were all delicious, especially the spicy pork bulgogi. On top of the delicious main course, we decided to splurge on dessert and I can’t properly express the importance of that decision. Bingsu! Get it. I have never in my life had a more delicious dessert. We went with the injeolmi topping and from later experience I can with certainty tell you that it’s the best one. The one knock to Myung Ga is the lack of real quality service and a little bit of a consistency issue, but other than that I have to tip my hat to them, or take a bow, whatever Koreans prefer I guess.

This place is huge but with only 3 staffs, service will be slow when the place is busy. I got here around 5pm and there was no one around, service was great. But by around 6:30pm the place is only about 20% full, it took a long time to have someone to get my bill process. In terms of food it is decent with the cheapest Korean meals I can get around here picking anyone of the combination meals(one entrée and tofu soup of your choice) for $ 18 or less before tax. Loved the hot-stone bibimbap and the broiled yellow corvin they got here. Jang Soo Jang still got the best Tofu Soup in town. Tofu soup is bit salty here.

Myung-Ga. Right next to the Hale Theater in the heart of West Valley City. You can enjoy some tasty Korean food and go watch a play next door, super convenient. why not take it to go and hide the Korean food in your purse and eat it while watching a play next door? the perks of being a female. Every time I come here I get the Korean BBQ short ribs. made from the most tender baby cows, every bite is succulent and juicy. When you bite into the meat, it’s gushing with fat, this means the baby cows used for this product were happy cows. Happy cows = Tasty food. Secondly, I also like to wash my baby cow ribs along with a spicy tofu soup. the soup itself was harvested from the nectars of the tofu gods itself, with every spoonful, it’s just a burst of a perfect mixture of heat and flavor. so delightful– They play real authentic Korean music while you eat so it makes you feel like you’re in Korea even though you have no idea what they’re saying. I give this restaurant a solid 5 stars. The food, ambience and service was fantastic. will be returning for their baby cow ribs every week.

Great food. Crappy service. This is the third time my husband and I have been here since they moved. The first 2 times, we waited 20 – 30 minutes after we got seated, and no one came by so we never placed our order. We walked out with empty stomachs :(this time, miraculously, we got seated and only had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. We ended up waiting a total of 40 minutes before our food even came. My husband ordered bbq chicken and the chicken came out first(wtf?). I got the bibimbap and had to wait an additional 10 minutes. After 20 minutes, and half the chicken were eaten(we were hungry), his soup and rice finally came out. The old location was never like this, the food consistently came out at the same time, regardless of how many people is sitting at your table. TL;DR: if you’re hangry, don’t bother coming to this restaurant. If you can wait, then go ahead. Crappy service, but great Korean bbq for Utah.

I love myung ga but the price is pretty pricey. Came here for some family dinner and it was pretty busy. The waiters and waitress were really kind and despite their lack of employee they all were able to serve everyone happy. They were running everywhere and got our orders and everything. The food is always great as well. The bibimbap I ordered I wish it had more of the vegetables and meat rather than just the rice itself. The spicy pork and marinated pork was superb. The tfu soups are always yummy.

I haven’t been here forever and suddenly it’s this new place I don’t know but I love the new building and interior! I still somewhat enjoyed the tofu soup. I ordered spicy but their spicy is like plain. I guess catering to the American audience more but both me and my Chinese friend were disappointed with the«spicy“ness. Also they put so much bleach powder on the dish plate and it went on my seaweed. My friend said she didn’t taste it so I thought it was just the dish and I asked for it to be replaced. Waitress didn’t change the seaweed and so it came back still tasting like bleach. She didn’t really say sorry though? She just said«I think they put too much powder on it». Vegetable pancakes were really good. Barbecue beef is okay, I can make it probably better at home. Well, I can make everything I got there better at home: P but it was pretty decent for what it was.

The service gets worse and worse every time we come here. Our last visit, we waited 15 minutes until we got greeted. We even told someone that we waiting for a while, but they totally disregarded us. Once we sat down, it took another 15 minutes until we met our waitress. I don’t mind waiting, but it’s the fact that they don’t try to acknowledge you or anything. The thing that makes me mad about this place is that for the last two times I’ve been here, they bring out the meat first and about 10 minutes later, they bring the rice. The meat’s cold by the time the rice is out :(I even asked them where the rice was, but they just shook their head. That’s a breaker for me. No more Myung Ga for me.

I like the foods here, they are great. My favorite is indeed their side dishes, that even thinking about them now make my mouth watering. The side dishes are the reason I kept coming back here. They have bean sprouts, broccoli, broccoli steam and I just love the kimchi. Their main dishes are alright. I mean the spicy soups are great, with oyster, seafood. I like the ribs. We usually order brown rice, their brown rice are sticky enough and tasty. But other than what i have listed, the rest of the menu are meh, not very impressive to me. The restaurant is located in West Valley which makes the restaurant is more accessible. But I deduct a point for the service. The restaurant is spacious, but every time i was there, the place was not crowded and the staffs were slow. I and my friends had to wait for like 10′ before we can order and then 15, 20 minutes for the food to come. Some servers are very friendly, some are not very enthusiatic. Overall, if I ever crave Korean food, this will still be my first choice due to their side dishes.

Kimchi soup and bingsu(dessert) are my favorite. They are very on point and I’ve ordered again and again these two dishes. I’m quite neutral on their grilled meat dishes since they have typical korean bbq sauces, and I’m not a big fan of meat. The bingsu is quite expensive though, it doesn’t quite make sense how they charge that much compared to other places in other cities I’ve been to.

+Regarding to price it was really good. They serve real Korean food. It tastes good too. I dont taste much MSG that is plus for sure. Restaurant was big compare to other Korean restaurant around there. And clean. Many menu. 1 tufu soup + 1spicy galbi(it comes with rice bowl and side dishes) 1 mango bingsu desert= only $ 40 — but food portion was smaller than What I expect:( Server did not give us changes

My boyfriend and I waited 5 minutes to be seated. And then it took almost 10 minutes to be seated. And then we watched as every table around us got their side dishes refilled literally 3 times while we had none. It took half an hour to our food to even get to the table. Don’t come here unless you’re ready to waste your time for Korean food of the same quality, you can get somewhere else in the valley.

We were the only non-asians in the restaurant… so I knew it was going to be good. I got the short ribs along with someone else in my party. My friend asked for hot(spicy) and I requested mild. I think the waitress gave me his because my mouth was on literal fire for the rest of the night. Thank god for the dessert though. The shaved ice dessert alone is worth coming here. I dream about that damn dessert. Get strawberry, you won’t regret it.

Food is good, but the overall experience is dragged down by all of the things they do so, so poorly. Food is a 4 or even a 5, service is a 2, maybe even a 1. Portions suck. I have been there a half dozen times and every time I have had a surprisingly poor experience. Honestly, the food might be the best Korean in Utah, but it is hard to go there because of the terrible service.

Honestly, I’ve eaten at many Korean restaurants in my time, and Myung Ga continues it’s reign as #1 Soondubu Jjigae.(aside from the Soondubu my boyfriend’s mom made for me in Korea… of course nothing will trump that). Darn near the prettiest looking bibimbap I’ve encountered as well. But don’t pass up a chance to try their soondubu, it’s just perfect. Also, all of their side-dishes are delicious. As expected, service is not the best, but since the food is so good I can’t even really complain about it. Rather than it being slow or the staff being rude, I just find the service a little inconsistent. Sometimes they immediately bring small bowls and hot water for our rice, others just bowls, others just hot water, others neither. What is the protocol? I don’t mind asking for everything, but I just wish that was more consistent. I make the drive from Provo to the SLC area at least once a month for my Myung Ga fix. Wish I could go more. It’s that good.

I’ve be here several times and the slow service is nothing new. Be prepared to be patient. Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry because the wait staff is a bit on the slow side although we always come during slow times. After living in Vegas for so long and the full array of choices they have there for kbbq I decided I needed to get a Korean food fix. Luckily for me my friends were also craving myunga. The small banchan sides are always great and my favorite party of korean food. I love variety when eating and sides and condiments are my favorite. Here the spicy cucumbers being my favorite! I owe the Ramen tofu soup spicy not realizing that their«spicy» was more of very mild and bland. I’ve been here in the past but had forgotten I needed to order extra extra extra extra EXTRA spicy for flavor and any spice. This was disappointing and I did not enjoy it as much as I had previous visits.(Or maybe I’ve been spoiled by cali and Vegas kbbq)

Yet another disappointing Korean restaurant in SLC, though thankfully not as bad as E-Jo. The night we came here the place was ¼ empty, yet the service we received was pretty awful. Took 10+ minutes after ordering to get any water. The beverage I ordered came out well after I had gotten my entrée — after I reminded the waitress twice. The seafood pancake we ordered came after we were done with our entrees — and was a tad bit raw in the middle. I had the dumpling and rice cake soup — it was just OK. My boyfriend ordered the spicy sausage soup — it came out luke warm, with no spice to it. Mediocre at best, not a place I’d like to spend my money at again.

I was very disappointed when I realized their tofu soup taste a bit more watered down compared to the first time I ever had it here but that doesn’t stop me from coming back to try out their other dishes. Overall I won’t give up on this place just hope to taste more flavor in the soup next time along with some other dishes too…

Aside from Ejo, Myung Ga is my go to place for some Korean fixin, especially after finishing up a Korean soap opera(anybody watched«Let’s Eat»? Serious major cravings after finishing this drama). What I like about Myung Ga is the variety of dishes that is beyond the BBQ meat such as the black bean noodles, buckwheat noodles, rice cakes, kimbap, intestine soup, etc.) Not only is there a variety but the food is tasty! Prices are a little steep but they give you a lot of food. I haven’t had a bad experience with service because I usually come when its down time. The servers I encountered have been friendly and more than willing to accommodate all of my requests(questions on new items, more side dishes, extra sauce) My only complaint is that the black bean noodles is only offered during lunch, I wish they would make that an all day menu item.

I am sooo Korean that I need a Korean meal every 7 days. PROS: We ordered a plate of galbi and 4 soft tofu soups. It was sufficient to feed 3 adult males and 1 female(maybe 1.5 female, haha). The galbi marinade was spot on, grilled just right, and I had no complaints. I had the dumpling tofu soup with a spicy level of «mild.» The dumplings were delicious and stuffed with a lot of filling. My mistake was ordering a spicy level of «mild.» In LA, «mild» = «spicy,» «spicy» = «fire,» and«very spicy» = «diarrhea.» In Utah, «mild» = literally means«mild.» I tried other guys’ soups and I think medium was appropriate for level me. Next time I will not make that same mistake. CONS: Other Unilocalers commented on the banchan, also known as side dishes. I agree that the side dishes were not that tasty and they are not a great representation of Korean side dishes. Also I would like to comment on the $ 9 «bing soo»(shaved ice). First of all, it comes with only 1 topping. I made a mistake and ordered a shaved ice, with red beans, strawberries, and mango. Lo and behold, 2 bowls of shaved ice appear on the table and one more is on its way. Apparently, they do not offer shaved iced with multiple toppings. I was baffled, and I am still baffled. Luckily enough the waitress let me cancel the 3rd shaved ice. Despite the fiasco, it was quite tasty. Haha. I am so thankful that Koreans are everywhere. I would die without Korean food. Thank you Koreans, thank you.

This place I would say is my to go place for Korean food. Even thought the service here isn’t constant i like their food here a lot. Also a lot of my Korean friends say that this place is very good. When I say the service isn’t constant is that it can be ranging from a super fast service like I got today or their service can be super slow like previously. Today’s service was really good. they took our order quickly, got the food out, and kept refilling our side dishes. The food here is awesome also. I love their short rib and tofu soup combo. I would always get that. If I wasn’t feeling like a beef kind of mood I would go for their spicy pork and tofu combo. Those two in my opinion is the best. The reason why this place isn’t getting a 5 star rating is that I think they might have forgotten one of my friends food. Everyone, even the people in my group that arrived late, got their food and was half way done but my friend never got her noodles that she ordered. When we asked the waitress she kept telling us that it is coming. Also when they distributed the food out to people it got confusing. They only tell you what the food is, but some people got combos while others didn’t. They don’t tell you which one is the combo dishes. All in all, the food here is great. I would come back, and recommend this place.

i’m surprised i haven’t reviewed this place yet as i’ve been here several times since they opened in this new location. it seems like their service gets worse each time i go and their quality of food is also declining. on this most recent visit i discovered they now have soju and other alcohol which is nice. we did try a bottle of soju and it was reasonably priced. that was the only positive of the night. service was awful and the food was not as good as it use to be. we ordered our food and when three dishes came out we asked what each one was since we had only ordered two items(for two people). they had brought us a dish that we did not order and we told them that. they actually brought over our server who pointed to the menu and said we ordered that item. we were 100% positive that we did not order this dish and the server seemed irritated that he made a mistake. he kept insisting that we ordered it and it was really an uncomfortable situation. he finally left so we could eat our food in peace. the food itself wasn’t as good as i remember it to be. i use to rave about myung ga, but i feel like it’s time to find another korean restaurant to eat at. the flavors were a bit bland and my tofu soup was only warm instead of hot. this could have been because the server wasted our time arguing about what we didn’t order, but the soup is usually really hot where i can’t eat it for a few minutes. i really wanted dessert since they now offer shaved snow. i will never say no to dessert no matter how full i am. however, our server was nowhere to be found. after 10 minutes of waiting for him to come by, i finally noticed him and other servers sitting at a table eating. i think it’s fine to take breaks and eat dinner, but all at the same time? we literally waited 30 minutes for him and by the time he finally came by again i did not want to order shaved snow anymore. due to extremely poor service i will now be trying out other korean restaurants in salt lake.

Food is great, service is not so great. Don’t come here if you’re in a rush because the wait staff is definitely never in a rush. The six small sides are always great with the spicy cucumbers being my favorite! I like to get a large order to-go at most visits. I got the bibimbap not in the stone pot, which comes with bowl of soft tofu soup. Both are delicious and the flavorful hot pepper sauce [gochugaru] is mandatory for the meal! I wish there was a larger portion of meat in the bibimbap but it was still good; egg wasn’t overcooked like last time and was perfectly runny. My friend got the Myung Ga Combination of Marinated BBQ beef with the kimchi soft tofu soup. She ate it all and was very content with the selection; it made me jealous how much meat came with her order… My other friend got the chilled buckwheat noodle, which she was surprised how much she enjoyed. Portion was large and large ice cubes are served with the noodles. The egg served with the noodles was overly hardboiled as indicated by the darkened yolk. It took us over 15 minutes to flag down a waiter to order dessert: Korean red bean shaved ice sundae. Apparently the machine has been on-and-off broken so the waiter had to get back to us, which took another 5 minutes but he finally came back to confirm that we could order it. It was the most outrageously extravagant dessert! Thank god we split it amongst the three of us. Wasn’t a fan of the sour gummy candies because they got too hard but it was all fantastic. This place always satisfies my cravings for Korean food.

It didn’t «tickle my fancy» this last visit. The slow service probably played the biggest factor. It was around 8:30PM so it wasn’t busy but I felt like we were waiting FOREVER. I also don’t understand why their booths/seats are so far from the actual table. meh! Decided to go for my number one choice of #3 — Seafood Tofu Soup(Extra spicy) since most people at the table got the combination and we just shared the meat — Spicy pork and BBQ beef are what we got and what I recommend. Spare ribs are also great but I feel you get more for your money with the other choices. Soup was good although I felt they overloaded it with tofu. I LOVE tofu so you can imagine just how much they put for me to complain. I felt like there wasn’t enough soup because it took up all of the space. Sides are always my favorite! Especially the cucumbers and seaweed. For some reason I didn’t feel like the cucumbers were the same! The flavor was lacking. I didn’t get the same tanginess as the other visits. Another thing that bothered me was when they brought out the soup. We got the same soup but different levels of spiciness. He was putting them wherever and not questioning who got what since he wasn’t the one to take the order. When I asked which was the extra hot, I felt like he just pointed to the closest one to his hand. Sure enough I tasted the 3 soups and mine wasn’t the extra hot. COMEON, DUDE.

I sincerely think that this is as close to California as I will get — Korean BBQ wise. Literally too, like, the prices and like, the food, and like the. like. uh. people who wait on you. aww yeah. And, if anyone in SLC wants to dispute that, please bring on the suggestions! I ordered the combination dish of bulgogi(yeah yeah, but I wanted to try something ‘common’ before branching out into the actual Korean food types). Proud to say that, yes it was a bit overly salty but … out of ALL the other Korean places(that I have yet to Unilocal), this was the best one so far in SLC. That with the good ol’ unlimited side dishes(including egg drop soup) quickly made up for that little error! All in all, the prices are just like in Cali — over the top. But you know what? For the price and quality of food, drifting memories back to home, and overall good times(oh yeah, the alcohol is full strength here as well — none of the 3.2% crud) — this place is worth it to me. HUZZAH for Myung Ga! I be back.

Service as of late has been consistently lacking in all of my recent visits. I came yesterday for lunch and there were only 2 tables being occupied when I walked through the door. I stood waiting to be acknowledged for a good 5 – 10 minutes before one of the waiters decided to look up from what he was doing and seat me. If I hadn’t been waiting for a friend, I would have walked out. I ordered the lunch box combo with short ribs for $ 11. It came with some tempura vegetables, rice, pickled cucumbers, orange slices and a small serving of clear tofu soup. It sounds like a lot of food, but I was disappointed when my order came with only 3 bite sized pieces of short ribs. I’ve gotten the lunch combo in the past with Bulgogi and spicy pork and I remember having the same amount of meat as rice, so I’ll stick to one of those two next time.

Well one thing is for certain, the service at the restaurant was subpar, to say the least. First time coming to this new location since they moved from 3500 south. Love the inside of the restaurant, very spacious, more open, more modern. The same things are still lacking, customer service. This used to be my go-to place for my Korean fix, until I found Korea House downtown many years ago. Wish this place were more like the popular places in Garden Grove California where you get a buzzer at your table that you can request service at any given moment. I think two things would make this place stand out, first being the service and second having a larger selection of Banchan. In Cali some of the ‘better’ places give you 12 items whereas the places in Utah only give 6 or so. Will go back on a less busy day when there are more servers, two hour dinners aren’t very pleasant.
