I went here last night. It was the first time I’ve eaten there since I worked at an NYPD back in high-school. Service was great, as was the food. An above average pizza chain.

What we have here is a sort of very consistent, but ultimately very average, neither to offend nor to titillate. The pizza is very edible, but is nothing memorable and, though very large, is about on league with a good day at Domino’s. New York pizza, however, it not only ain’t, but further ain’t even close. Frankly, an actual NY restaurant would be probably ashamed to serve something like this, but then again, they can get pretty hardcore about certain food items… The dessert things are greasy and chewy, but an ok change of pace. Not much else to really remark about on this pizza other than that you can rely on that level of quality, one which requires additional items like cheese and dried peppers, time after time, or at least that’s been the case so far. Decent, but not much more.

Good food. I’ve eaten here a few times, and the food is pretty good. This isn’t a must go to, but if you want a slice of good olé NY pizza, this is your spot to go. I had the half Stromboli this time and it was good. It was lighter than I expected, not overwhelming with dough.

Service wasn’t that great. Garlic knots are really just rolls sprinkled with garlic salt. Pizza was good. Greasy but nice and thin pie.

I ordered their lunch special which was 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of pepperoni with a coke for $ 4.99. Slices are about the size of Sbarro’s so it was enough to fill me up. I didn’t have high expectations based on reading reviews but I was pleasantly surprised how good the pizza was. I will definitely be back for lunch at least.

Went in for lunch, opted for the Chicken Parm sandwich instead of the pizza because they did not look all that appetizing, I like a little more crust. The Chicken Parm Sandwich was larger, it came with a large breaded chicken breast with cheese all smothered in sauce. The sauce was too sweet for my taste and the chicken could have used more seasoning otherwise it was a good sandwich, probably not something that will make me come back soon.

I don’t think I’ll dine at NYPD Pizza again. The first time I went was a few months ago with a friend. We ordered 1 pizza, but had it split in half with a different pizza on each side. One half of the pizza was gross(unfortunately I can’t remember what kinds of pizza we got!) and the other was ok. When our server asked how we liked our pizza we told him we didn’t… but we didn’t want to have them make us a new pizza, we were in a time crunch to catch a movie. He gave us a free order of Zeppoles to go, which was very thoughtful. I figured that maybe my first visit was just a fluke and thought about giving it another go. A few weeks ago I found coupons from City Deals so I figured it was a good opportunity to return I visited NYPD last night and was once again disappointed. Our server was overbearing and had«crazy eyes.» When we asked her for a few minutes to look over the menu she came back like two minutes later. Not enough time! We ended up ordering chicken tenders for an appetizer and they’re your standard breaded and fried strips covered in wing sauce. They took a long time to be brought out even though there was only one other occupied table at the restaurant. For our meal we ordered two 10″ pizzas. I can’t remember the names(their names are ridiculous, btw), but one pizza had chicken, bacon, and ranch dressing on top. It was the better of the two pizzas. The second was a white pizza with lots of cheese, Italian sausage and onions. It was lacking in depth and flavor beyond the cheese and sausage. There weren’t many spices to it… I say if you’re going to spend a decent amount of money for gourmet pizza save it and get real gourmet pizza from California Pizza Kitchen. Otherwise just get delivery!

I was not overly impressed with NYPD. We started by ordering 10 wings. The sauce was ok, but nothing special. The pizza was VERY greasy and though the crust tasted good, the cheese was not very good and the chicken was scarce. I think it was an average pizza place, about on par with Pizza Hut. The hunt for excellent pizza continues.

We were wondering what to get for dinner when NYPD Pizza delivery coupons and menu miraculously appeared on our door. It was fated but unfortunately not destined to be a pleasant experience. The first bummer happened when we went to redeem one of these delivery coupons — Monday Family Night 2 large pizzas, garlic knots, and zeppolis for $ 26. Sounded reasonable so with tip should be $ 30 delivered, awesome on hectic Mondays. Except when I went to order the first time, was advised NOT for delivery. Advice to restaurant: please specify dine-in only when it is. Already I am disappointed. About a month later we decide to try again for the package deal this time for pick-up. Oh it was just sadly terribly NOTGOOD at all. I actually feel bad for them. Came w garlic knots that were undercooked on the outside and too dry on the inside. They were flavorless but greasy. The home-made marinara sauce did taste like tomatoes but was just one note. The zeppolis which usually basically fall somewhere between a donut hole and fry bread that are dusted with sugar and served traditionally w honey or chocolate dipping sauce on Christmas Eve, these zeppolis did not come with sauce and were chewy like they(gasp) may have been warmed in a microwave. They were served in a greasy bag so maybe they were freshly fried but then the awful texture would be from the dough and not the cooking method. Either way — gross. Matt on the phone seemed mostly competent although stumbled when I asked if I could do a margherita instead of regular cheese. Despite being the same price on the menu apparently it is «much more» to make the switch and not really sure how much more until we change all the toppings around in the computer… So plain cheese it was. And it was not delicious. Soggy with very little cheese or sauce. Not at all New York pizza — not foldable nor tasty. Is this(double gasp) frozen crust? My 3 year old refused to eat it — cried instead — and my usual garbage disposal never will food get wasted in my presence of a husband, actually threw out most of this pizza. I have never seen this happen. Our other pie was a specialty Manhattan Meat Lover’s which has smoked bacon, pepperoni, momma’s meatballs, cheese, sauce and I added mushrooms for $ 1.50 more. This was also not delicious and looked absolutely nothing like the photo on the menu. It was completely covered with bacon, the smoky flavor so dominated that nothing else could be tasted. The mushrooms were fresh not canned, which is the only plus. The pepperoni was invisible and what wait where are momma’s meatballs? Could they be the so thinly sliced almost translucent bits of what appears to be circular shaped steak-ums. Who knows all I can taste is smoke flavoring. Matt the restaurant phone guy also kept saying over and over the 14 inch this and 14 inch that. I realized that their menu has a Personal Size, a 14 inch and an 18 inch. If my coupon is for 2 larges, aren’t those the 18 inch? At every other pizza place I have been to, sizes are personal, medium and large. At NYPD the sizes are personal, large and extra-large. My coupon was actually for what is usually a medium size. This is deceiving! My husband who picked our order up said they were pretentious snobs. He thinks wearing a tie in a pizza joint seemed out of place and the guy doing pickups made him wait while he did something«in the back». This Italian-American flavored deli is another UnilocalYUCK. Since it is in the same parking lot as the busiest, highest grossing Olive Garden in the entire world, I will go there instead for mid-scale 3-star sort-of Italian food and service or order Domino’s for the same price as NYPD Pizza. I do not see how this NYPD Pizza will survive. I would give them ZEROSTARS if this was an option.

Our visit went south right from the beginning. We were seated rudely, and our menus were tossed onto a table that wasn’t wiped clean. When I stopped the waiter as he was walking away, he seemed irritated that he had to get the towel to clean it off. In the menu there was a flyer: «2 for Tuesdays» where you get a free cheese pizza with purchase of any other pizza off the menu. Printed restriction says«Equal or lesser value. Not valid with 10″ or sicilian pies.» It just happened to be a Tuesday, BUT when we wanted to get a 14″ supreme and a 14″ cheese, we were told that we HADTO buy an 18″ pizza to get a 14″ cheese pizza. This makes NO sense. The server then pointed to the napkin holder, where the flier advertised«2 for Tuesday. Buy any 18″ pizza and receive any 14″ pizza for free.» So if I look at one sign, I can order a 14″ supreme and get a 14″ cheese for free, and if I look at the other one, I can buy an 18″ supreme and get a 14″ supreme for free. NOWHERE on ANYTHING printed in the restaurant was there any mention of «Buy an 18» and you get a 14″ cheese. We asked to speak to the manager, who was incredibly curt, and would not explain the discrepancy, nor move on his«policy». It seemed like a made up gimmick to make some extra money, and I could not shake the feeling that the staff was simply manipulating us. The pizza was descent, but not for the price. It’s incredibly expensive for what you get. I’ll never go back… I’m more than happy to give The Pie my business. Plus, at the Pie, I’ve never felt like the company was being manipulative or dishonest.

Pizza is good. The seating arrangement is dreadful. You will be bumping chairs and elbows with your neighbor.

As I walked in from the parking lot I thought to myself on how hard it would’ve been to park on a busy night. I sat down with my family and began to look at the menu, holy cow what an over whelming selection. I got so confused at the«hard to read» font and selection, it took me at least twenty minutes to order. Finely the very inexperienced waitress came over she asked me for my ID after telling me I couldn’t order a picture of the same beer my brother ordered because she already rung in my brothers beer… After getting with the program the waitress told me and my family, «sorry it’s been a long three days working doubles«I don’t care about how tired you are, just get me my beer. My nephew wanted chicken strips, well he got em’ fifteen minutes before we received out pizza. he was done eating before I received my order. Our pizzas weren’t anything special, the«pizza sauce» was tomato sauce. Their Margareta pizza didn’t even have mozzarella on it more like«Kraft» Parmesan sprinkles. the worst part was the cheesecake($ 4.99) for a small, freezer burnt, gummy piece of cheesecake. Please people if you are going to serve cheesecake for four ninety-nine please serve a large slice with a gorgeous plating design. Needless to say for the price of this place I’d rather eat at Little Ceasars or 5 Buck Pizza. I feel bad for the restaurant…

I was so surprised with this place. I’m always skeptical of new pizza joints as they so often disappoint me but NYPD bucked that trend. First i was amazed at the lunch deals. The deal i went with was a roll with a fountain drink for $ 5.99. The roll is basically a Stromboli and the unfortunately named«Sergeants Sausage Roll» was priced at $ 8.99 regularly. I had to ask the server to ensure i was getting the same meal with the special and indeed it was. That is a $ 3.00 savings with the addition of a drink! I was stoked. When the roll came out it was very large and more than filled me up. The sausage was awesome and the roll was crisp and chewy. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my food unless i made it myself. Even though our waitress was very friendly and helpful, as with most places like this, the service was slow and the music was awful and loud. That will not discourage me from eating lunch here again and unless something dramatic changes NYPD will be added to my regular lunch rotation.

Awesome New York style pizza! The other menu items(calzones, salads) are great also. And they recently got their beer license to. Can’t wait to go back!
