Quick service and delicious sushi. Waitress made a recommendation to try salmon katsu roll and it was great.

This place has the best sushi in utah. I came from out of town looking for a good sushi place and this was far better then my expectations. The staff is very friendly and the service was awesome. I will be coming back every chance I can. It was so good and the price is great too.

Yeah these guys are getting 1 star from me now because their service keeps going downhill and their staff is getting downright rude.
Not cool when you’re in a time crunch and they lose the to go order you placed over the phone and then try to convince you that you never called in an order when you can show them on your phone when you called them.
Get your crap together guys.

I went out with a couple of friends before a movie on Friday, we waited about 30 min before we got any service to get our orders or any drinks. We cannot remember her name but when she did come back to take our order she’s not looking at us and when I’m about to order she walks away to go talk to another waitress. Really? Never in my life had someone do that to me. Not an «excuse me» or anything

This place is average at best I ordered the chicken Katsu entrée and I’ll admit it was a lot but the quality of meat and the vegetables that were service were ok. The sauce for the chicken was extremely thick and the vegetables were cooked in soy sauce and to the point it seemed like they dumped more soy sauce on it. I ordered a Philadelphia roll which was 90% cream cheese and 10 percent rice and a dash of crab meat here and there. I would only come back here if I was in the area and wanted cheap sushi and it’s too much of a hassle to get to better sushi places in the area

I really liked Sushi Monster! I walked in, and I was seated immediately! I explained to the waitress that I didn’t have a lot of time. She responded well and told me that they would make my order quick. They served a delicious soup, and the sushi came immediately afterwards. I got the pink dragon roll, and it was delicious. If you’re looking for a cheap lunch/​dinner this is not the place. It is pretty pricey, but the service and food make up for it. If you’re in a hurry this place is pretty quick, but I’d choose another place if you’re really short on time.

Great service and delicious food. I really enjoyed everything I ordered and our waitress was absolutely the best. Very sweet and helpful. She greeted us as soon as we walked in and said goodbye as we left. She had a smile on her face the whole time. Her wonderful service and the delicious food earns them 4 stars.
However…I took away one star for atmosphere. It is really difficult to enjoy a meal when they have music playing AND the TV blaring. Its just noise pollution at that point. Not to mention it kind of ruins your appetite when you are sitting there watching Will Smith kill his dog in I Am Legend. The movie itself gets five stars… but trying to eat while Odesza yells in one ear and Will Smith is murdering his zombie dog doesnt go well together. Seems like it needs to be one or the other, and definitely some more family friendly television.

my favorite place. I absolutely love coming here, I probably order take out twice a week. their spicy salmon roles are my favorite. it’s needless to say that the staff knows me by now and always give me a warm greeting when I arrive. whenever I take my friends here they always leave as satisfied as I. I highly recommend

Terrible sushi lunch. Rolls fell apart and the sashimi was like huge slabs of fish. Should have been more bite size pieces. Then they gave me ranch dressing for an old boring salad. I had actually asked for ginger dressing. Won’t returning here when I travel to Salt Lake for work. I threw this lunch away.

Awful service, bad sushi, and slow service a all around bad place to eat. Don’t waste your time or hard earned money here. Iam writing this as iam waiting for the check.

Great prices on great food! If you love sushi, you’ll love it here. We waited a little longer than was probably necessary on the food, but once the staff realized this, they went above and beyond to correct it make sure everything else was perfect. They even threw in a free desert! Great job guys, I’ll definitely be back for more.

Food was awesome and the service was excellent as well. Our waitress, Jenn, was very pleasant too. I highly recommend this place. We were on our way from CA to Iowa and our transmission went out. Staying here for a night or two.

Old stale fish, sloppy execution on the rolls, ambivalent service, slow delivery, but excellent presentation. What more could you ask for?
Quality, for one. Lots of sauces here and yet for all that, still can’t hide those basic issues I just mentioned or that the end result is mediocre sushi, more or less what you would get at a half-​off place, just another place slinging this and charging full price. It also would be nice to get the correct rolls that were ordered, but hey, can’t have everything, amirite?
On the plus side, parking is usually not too bad and the ambiance inside, at least — the wretched crap they pump over the speakers outside isn’t good to begin with but double-​bad through heavily distorting and clipping speakers — is pretty solid. Like the plating, the environment looks pretty nice. Again, not great and you’ve definitely seen better, but not too shabby.
If all that spells like a place you’d like to visit, have at it. I won’t be needing a table here ever again.

Stay clear if you are a sushi lover, the sushi is bad and the service just as bad! We ordered 3 different sushi rolls and appetizer, they were all bad! Appetizer came out after two very bad tasting rolls! The last roll came with the check and after 30min after eating the rolls prior! There was another server, very nice Asian girl she had people sit before us and gave them excellent service. Unfortunately we got the other server there tonight! Maybe it would have made our time there more tolerable if we had better service. On the other hand my husband is the type give him bad pizza and it’s good as long it’s pizza and even he said it was really bad sushi!

Since my last visit to sushi monster, they have really improved when it comes to service and execution. Perhaps the manager was reading reviews and realized that not every sushi roll needs to be put in a martini glass and have a ton of inedible decorations surrounding the plate and that focusing on taste and customer satisfaction was indeed, first priority.
Simple hand rolls range from 7 – 9 bucks then you get the speciality rolls that can reach 15 bucks a roll. Do I think the price is worth the freshness of the fish? Some but not all.
A must try– muscle shooters. They are tangy and a little but spicy and come with 3.
Volcano roll– love it. The waitress noted that since this roll is baked, it will take longer. I thought that was nice of her and it really seemed like she knew studied the menu well. It’s nice to have a knowledgable waitress.
Bento boxes– holy tempura. Each box comes with a Cali roll, pot stickers, tempura veggies and rice with your choice of meat. They REALLY want you to eat your veggies bc the serving was huge. The salmon was a little dry but I’d get it again and mention it if it were to happen a second time.
Would I come back here again? Sure bc it’s close and the sushi is OK. If I’m looking for phenomenal sushi then I’d go to takashi and double if not triple my check. It’s worth it though. This is a nice place and the staff is friendly.

I was actually excited to come here honestly. I had always seen it, and it looked like it would be a chill location. But I fear that I «wasted» my sushi restaurant visit. There weren’t a ton of fresh rolls. Everything was heavy in mayo, or cream cheese or tempura. The rolls we did get, were not rolled very well. They fell apart, the cuts of every piece were not uniform, and the ends were mostly rice. The decorations almost looked like an American went into a 99 cent store and bought «Asian looking stuff» and then just taped it all over the walls. It looks far nicer on the outside then it does on the inside. I mean seriously, they had mah jong tiles pasted to the walls. I don’t like giving low reviews to mom and pop shops, but I think this place can step their game up.

Sushi Monster has been my favorite restaurant for years. I go there all the time. The servers are lovely. They take the time to learn my name and remember what I like to order. Yes sometimes they get slammed and are under staffed sometimes. But the servers do their best to handle it.
The food it great! I’m never disappointed. The sushi always looks so beautiful when plated. The manager is a sweetheart.
I definitely recommend it!

The food was pretty good. I was a little scared by the reviews but really wanted sushi.
I actually ended up getting sushi and hibachi steak both were very tasty. It is a lot of food so I wouldn’t suggest getting both like I did unless you have help. The location was nice. The sign coming into the restaurant does need work but that sign has nothing to do with the food.
The service was pretty good and I would love to go back when I’m in the area. The location does pick up a lot of people fast being in a shopping area, but the service is pretty quick nevertheless.

Love this place and we come regularly! Good, inexpensive food, and great service! Plus they are open normal hours not just for dinner.

Sorry, but this will be the last time. Fool me once, shame… I am so done typing… not worth time. BARF!
