I’ve been to several different five guys in Utah and this one has always stood out. The food is always consistently great, the kitchen and dining area are always clean, and the staff are usually quite friendly. There have only been one or two times I have been disappointed in the customer service but the high quality food made up for it. Lots of people complain about the one cheese option or the poor choice of music but my only problem with this location is that they don’t have shakes. Every other five guys around has shakes besides this one. Doesn’t make sense to me. No one wants to eat a burger and fries without a shake. Luckily the five guys in taylorsville isn’t too much further from my work and I can get a shake there.

It was the final vacation day of the new year. I needed my final fat boy kick off before hopping into a healthier 2016. I rarely eat burgers, so I figured there was no better time than now to clog my arteries. The wife and I headed to Five Guys for a mouth full of meat and Cajun seasoned fries. Five Guys is a walk up restaurant. A step up from drive through, but not quite table service level. I picked my grilled onions and mushrooms, bacon, mayo and everything else that I shouldn’t be eating. We sat, and cracked their shelled peanuts as an appetizer. They called our number, and we took our burgers home and enjoyed them as we watched pirated movies. It was a good start to the new year that resulted in a tummy ache from overconsumption. My own fault. Five Guys is delicious. As far as chains go, this ranks pretty high on my list.

This is a relatively quiet location and very clean. There has been very little wait when I have visited and everything was cooked to order. I mostly only stop here to get a guilty pleasure of Cajun fries but all other items look exactly as they should.

Five guys is much better than in n out. It’s a bit more pricy compared to in n out but so worth it.

These folks are very friendly and fun. They were quick but didn’t make me feel rushed. It was clean and stocked well and of course, great food!

This is something I rarely do, both reviewing chains and then reviewing separate locations of chains, but WVC is not going to benefit from my rating for Fort Union and they deserve the 4 stars every bit as much. Sure, the space isn’t as comfortable, but the service here is consistently more attentive and the food is every bit as good. This is the what I use as the benchmark for«fast» burgers and sometimes even against sit-down restaurants. With their phenomenal consistency, they make an excellent standard and many, many, many challengers have come up wanting. If you want them to make you a burger my way, choose either single or double patty, add cheese, bacon, mushrooms, jalapenos, A-1 sauce and get thee face full. Sometimes I will also add green peppers and less frequently a little splash of lettuce, but that’s more of an option; the other toppings are standard.

I like them, yes it’s greasy, yes this isn’t helping my «diet», but I’d rather eat here than a lot of chain burger places. My burger was fresh, hot and veggies were crisp and clean. They didn’t taste like dirt. My fries were not burnt, oily, but good. Very clean, no mess anywhere visable to customers. Cashier was polite, repeated my order before I paid which I like for some odd reason. I would go here again if I was craving a burger and on this side of town.

When I was little I remember Mom always taking us out to lunch after our Saturday chores were done. I now get to reciprocate since Mom is on a tight budget, and besides, its something I enjoy. The first time I ever visited Five Guys was some time ago in North Carolina. It’s nice to see them in Utah. The guy at the counter was awesome taking time to go over the menu in depth and ever so nice. I wish I got his name because he deserves high praise! We had the single patty cheese burgers with fresh cut fries. They have many toppings that are included with the price of the burger. By the way, the single patty burger is huge. Fries were tasty and I like when places offer the infamous fry sauce. Cokes were strong, not flat tasting like Arctic Circle’s drinks. The only thing I didn’t understand was the free peanuts they offer? Must be a southern thing. You scoop them yourself and you can have all ya want. The food was good. The reason I am giving them only four stars is that they do not offer combo meals. All food items are sold separately, so it makes it rather pricey. Total bill for two was a little over $ 18.00, so taking a family here would be rough. Maybe that’s the reason I saw no kids in the joint.

I love 5 guys. They use very good ingredients. I also enjoy the fries. I usually order a triple with no bun. YUM!

Originally when this place opened it was amazing! You walked in and got all the workers yelling«Hi» or «Hello» or how many were in your party. Also, the workers in the store were primarily caucasian. Now however the majority of the workers are spanish and you’ll only get one saying«Hello». Not to mention if you order online be prepared to wait an additional 10 – 15 minutes past what your online order time should be to pick up your food. It really feels like this place has gone down hill. Check out the rest of the reviews if you don’t believe me.

The food is tasty enough but when the grease has already soaked through the paper bag they put the food in within the time that it takes for you to carry it from the counter to the table you should know that no amount of crossfit is going to undo the dammage you are about to do. It’s not bad but you can get a better, less soggy burger for the price. The fries are worth the price though and are served in massive quantities.

Five guys is my favorite burger and fries joint in West Valley City. Love their generous helping of french fries. When in a group there’s rarely a need to order more than one french fries. And the fry sauce is great too.

I realize I’m in the minority when I say this, but I don’t get what the deal is with Five Guys. IMO it’s pretty over priced for something that’s just ok. $ 7.00 for a small burger and a drink is a little excessive-especially when you can(for about as much or less-depending on where you go) get a bigger burger, better fries, and a drink at Smashburger or In-n-Out. Yes you can get your burger the way you want with sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions, but I still can’t get over how much it is for mediocrity. They do have some of the most polite and helpful employees around-hence the third star. Bottom line-if you’ve never been save your money and go to Smashburger or In-n-Out, or if you’re in a pinch just get the pretzel burger at Wendy’s.

Five Guys is too overrated. I wasn’t impressed at all and then you end up paying over $ 10 for a subpar burger with fries and a drink. I prefer In’n’Out over this place. Maybe I’ll give Five Guys another chance.

Being from Virginia, I am very familiar with the Five Guys franchise… one that is apparently fairly new here in Salt Lake. Well, it shows. I have been to this location multiple times now while traveling on business, and each time that I’ve stopped in, the food has not been what I consider to be Five Guys quality. Burgers and bacon are overcooked… buns are hard and crunchy at the edges… and just overall, it’s nowhere close to what I enjoy at my local Five Guys back home. I’ve even taken a second before to look at the grill at this location, and most every time is has been fairly disgusting looking, with burnt up pieces of burger all over it and in desperate need of being scraped off. It no wonder that the beef always has come out tasting sub-par to me… again, nothing like my local one where they’re constantly scraping the surface of the grill. A four-star rating prior to my review tells me pretty quickly that most people here in Salt Lake must simply not know how a perfect Five Guys burger should taste, because this location has a long way to go. I love a good Five Guys burger, but after 3 mediocre visits to this location, I think I’m crossing it off my list. Here’s to hoping that changes are made, and more attention to detail is enforced to bring Salt Lake the Five Guys that they deserve.

Burgers are good nothing special. Tons of toppings to choose from. The fries are great, get cajun. The worst part is the price, if you bring 4 people and SHARE fries you will be over $ 40. The reason for 3 stars is because it’s just not worth the cost.

I am quite surprised how many chains have popped up in this area lately. Especially in West Valley, I know this isn’t Lehi or Heber but living here intermittently you kinda set low expectations. Five Guys reminds me allot of a Texas burger although the burger chain is from the east coast. You get the option of picking your own toppings or you can just tell them to put everything on it. There is one thing that bothers me about this spot compared to the other Five Guys, its freakin cleanliness. I feel like I have to eat a pile of peanuts and spread them all over the floor to give it authenticity. If you go to a Five Guys outside of the state, you’ll see they purposely have peanut shells over the floor. Maybe its weird but sometimes being messy is fun. As for the fries, can’t say I’m a fan of the Cajun fries if you like spicy salty fries. Normally order the regular which is plentiful for two people. Don’t order two sets unless you are going on a starch diet. There’s a reason why these guys were voted best burger in 2012 and that is for their portion size of meat in the burger.

Someone else mentioned, they didn’t realize that 5 guys was a chain. Same for me if I’m honest until recently. Now I see them popping up all over the place, there is even one right by where I live in Riverton now. At a prior company there were odd people who went to 5 guys, and I figured it was the only one that existed, and just some hole in the wall greasy burger joint they had found. What they brought back seemed to back up this theory! That was four years ago, I never tried it for myself until about six months ago — and again due to work colleagues who made a majority decision this would be the lunch destination for the day, I went with it — and honestly wasn’t disappointed. Sure, it is a greasy burger joint. But one with real meat patties, and the ability to customize your burger with the exact combination of sides to put you into hamburger heaven. Top that with salty fries and wonderful fry sauce and you’re really onto something! I’ll admit, it’s not somewhere you would want to eat at often if you’re trying to stay healthy, but it’s a real burger joint with proper fresh and REAL ingredients, and I can’t imagine any more unhealthy than eating all the processed crap you get from most chains. The trick here is get the small versions(single patty) and get a small/regular fry. Large fries are INSANE in size. Even small you can share between two people and have some to spare. I get the small bacon cheeseburger generally — I cannot deny, I do like bacon, especially real bacon. You can’t really knock 5 guys — it’s unashamedly what it is. And they do it great. When you feel like a REAL burger, give it a try!

Can you believe that I didn’t know that this place was a chain until I showed up? As lame as I am, this was a real(as in, hand formed patties and ingredients that you could actually recognize) delicious burger. I love the idea of the peanuts for snacking while you wait for your burger. The only thing I had a complaint about was that the Cajun fries were definitely on the salty side. Yeouch! The place was also clean(even the bathroom, shokingly!) and the staff was friendly. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll definitely be back.

Five guys in Utah tastes better than it does in Carson, Cerritos, and California combined… I guess the location in Utah just tastes better than any location that starts with a C… Just my luck that those are the only in Places that have Five guys… F MYLIFE.
