My boyfriend and I had a really lovely weekend here. We had a gift certificate for an off-season weekend stay which included one dinner and two breakfasts. The value is exceptional – they provide an enormous amount of food. Prices are a bit high though for the quality so I maybe wouldn’t come here for dinner if it weren’t part of the package deal. Breakfast(especially the Hearty Irish Breakfast plate) seemed reasonably priced though and was delicious. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. Sometimes the servers in the dining room were a little slow, but its a big restaurant so that can happen. Our one real complaint is that the beds were pretty uncomfortable. You definitely have to come here accepting that its a motel, not a hotel. The indoor pool was a nice bonus though – clean, large, and warm. There’s an outdoor too though it was too late in the season for me to try that one out.

So yes, they’re working on upgrades including wifi(actually nice to HAVE to unplug a bit) BUT the rooms are reasonable, and clean. There are both indoor and outdoor pools. The food is fantastic and the nightly Irish music is a treat. Plus the staff are beyond wonderful. Just discovered this place this summer and I’ve been back a couple of times already. And plan to go back as soon as possible and bring friends!

We are just pulling away from this lovely place. We come here every summer and absolutely love it. The staff are all wonderful to deal with from the receptionist to the wait staff and house cleaners. Tommy the manager is very personable My kids love this place and they don’t get the dirty looks that most places do when dealing with children. The kids never want to leave. They would stay in the pool all day if allowed and they adore the live music every night You can’t beat the price it so reasonable for a family. There is a package deal where breakfast and dinner is inclusive. Many different choices and different specials. Can’t wait to see you all next august!

So the motel itself is a bit outdated. The room looks exactly as it does on the website, so they are not attempting to hide anything. The room was in obvious need of fresh paint. The carpet could use a cleaning. The light fixtures were«retro» to say the least. But wow — $ 89 for 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa, it can’t be beat! The staff was amazing, definitely out to please. We brought the kids and spent the weekend swimming, dancing to a great band that played all of my parent’s favorite Irish songs, and basically enjoying ourselves. Sure we were 30 years younger than anyone else there. Sure the food wasn’t top notch. Sure the room wasn’t the freshest. But we weren’t shooting for the moon. Affordable, close to home, and during the off season, no need to drive again once you park in the hotel lot.

This place is… quaint? The décor is old and you can tell –its not dirty or messy or anything, but its just older. Our room had regular box tv’s but the bar and some of the other rooms had flat screens. Listen… I don;t really care since we weren’t in our room and other people shouldn’t care either. Its outdated for sure but we had a blast here. Its right near the beach and you’re on the cape, so who cares and who needs a fancy overpriced room when you have so much else to do? We stayed here for a wedding reception that took place at the Son’s of Erin down the street. The people here are wonderful and personable and its fun cause they are actually Irish! Its just a cute family owned place and I think they really do a good job. They have packages where you can have your breakfasts and dinners included and I loved that idea. The food was good actually, fairly standard fair but they did a good job and again, the staff is just fun and awesome! The bar pours strong drinks that don’t cost a lot and they have live music at night too which is cool. The pool area has an indoor and outdoor pool with a hot tub and then a yard with a playground that’s fenced in so kids can play safely. I don’t know if I will ever be in a situation where I will have to stay here again but I wouldn’t mind staying at this place. The staff really makes the experience.

I hate to do this because the staff at the Irish Village absolutely care about their guests but this hotel is OUTDATED. Like 1980’s outdated. To the point I almost left a day early from our two night stay, willing to eat the cost. The rooms are dark, have a moldy smell and the lighting is old and inefficient. The lights above our bed made the electric hum bug zappers make. The beds and pillows are the equivalent to plywood, and the bathroom is pretty damn disgusting for the amount of money you’re dropping per night. Also, for anyone interested in wi-fi or general cell phone service within the rooms, no dice. Wi-fi is advertised in common areas only. The Irish Village is most definitely a family hotel so I’m assuming that the majority of guests don’t care about their rooms as long as the kids are happy with the game room, pool, playground, live music, kids menu. But for those of us who take notice, it’s a bit on the grimy side. The gift shop and bar/restaurant area seem to be the most updated portions of this hotel.

My wife and I received an off season weekend package here as a gift several months back, so we thought it was about time to use it. We were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are not high end, but at the rates they’re charging they’re entirely adequate and are clean and well maintained. The restaurant/pub was really quite good. We enjoyed the dinner and two breakfasts we had there quite a bit, and would definitely go back if we were in the area again — the corned beef and cabbage dinner I had was among the best I’ve eaten in a long time. Usually the corned beef is too salty from the water not being changed often enough, not the case here, and the portions were huge — I had two giant slabs of corned beef and literally half a head of cabbage plus two boiled potatoes and a goodly pile of carrots and turnip — yummy :) They had live entertainment the night we went, it seemed like a house band playing mostly 50’s/60’s classics and the occasional celtic number. The clientele is definitely on the more elderly side but you shouldn’t let that stop you if you’re not, we had a wonderful time. Oh, and they pour a mighty fine pint of Guinness!
