This is probably the worst Japanese restaurant I have ever been to. First of all, the place seems to be owned by Chinese people, so if you are looking for the authentic taste of Japanese food, this is not the place for you. I have tried the California roll, the seafood udon, and the ramen. The California roll was satisfactory, but the rolls had more rice than any other content. The udon tasted like literal miso soup with two shrimps and two clams. There was no taste of seafood coming from the soup base and the noodles just disintegrated in my mouth as soon as they entered because they were overlooked. Now, to the worst of the worst. The ramen tasted like nothing, the noodles were rough, and there were two pieces of pork that adorned the mess of a food. The ramen was so bland that our group resorted to dipping the noodle in the slightly more favorful udon soup. No way it was worth the $ 15 we paid for it. The ramen+California combo, udon+California combo, and the udon costed us around $ 65. Be aware that the paycheck already included the tax and tip, but the waiter did not inform us in any way about this. Only after asking did he tell us hat tip was included. The tax and tip brought the total to $ 75. Do not go here it’s not worth it.

The food wasn’t very good and then they tried to over charge is by $ 40. Make sure you check on what you are charged for. They also were not knowledgeable about their own food. We ordered a noodle dish and were assured that it was made with rice noodles not wheat… a few hours later and getting very sick it was clear that they didn’t know what they were talking about. Also it is very pricey. $ 11 for a California roll. No thank you. There is a reason they don’t list their prices on Unilocal,no one would go

Went here to try this out. Their menu is pretty much sushi dishes. If you aren’t in the mood for sushi, the rest of their menu is pretty limited. And one of the«limited» options is Eel soup. Ok, even more limited options(other than the appetizers…), So, among the«limited» options left, I chose Pork Ramen soup. $ 15YIKES! I was brought a glass of WARM water. What? It’s 70 degrees outside. What’s up with the WARM(not hot, but very much on the WARM side…) water? Ok… now I see their game. You drink the RATHERWARM water, and your eyes are drawn to their extensive list of ICEDTEAS, and you are thinking, «COOL! A glass of Peach Iced Tea sounds WONDERFUL even if they are charging $ 3.50 for it…» I ordered the Peach Iced Tea. Although the glass of Peach Iced Tea was fairly decent sized, it came with a plastic sealed top. Obviously, they buy these from a vendor. You poke though with your pointed end straw. There wasn’t much ice in it, but it was still cold. So, it’s not like you got 90% ice and two gulps of liquid… The Pork Ramen soup had two small slices of pork(definitely pork) but it had a «fishy» taste. I think it was because the soup was cooked with two slices of seaweed. It was ok. But $ 15? YIKES! I think bigger city restaurants charge around $ 9 or $ 10 for this same thing. Another reviewer indicated they were«charged» a «tip.» I had this happen at another restaurant in town, so I was careful to check. Nope, the only«extra» charge was the 3% Resort Tax. Although Montana… technically… doesn’t have a sales tax, according to Montana law, some resort areas are allowed to charge a «sales tax» of 3%. Oh, they obviously aren’t set up for single diners. I was seated at a table for FOUR, no small tables. No place to park an RV. I walked here. A little pricey, don’t think I will go back. UPDATE: The next morning I was EMAILED a receipt. This upsets me, as I did not provide my email address. My CC company said they do not provide emails to merchants. The email came from something called SquareUp and I swear I do NOT have a SquareUp account. So I want to know how this happened! I’m upset about it.

Nah, dont waste your time and money. Had the ramen and the soup was bland. Noodles over cooked and skimpy on the chashu. Paid $ 15 on a bowl that should’ve been more like $ 5.00. I understand that this restaraunt is out here in the middle of nowhere but its a noodle soup. Also had some salmon nigiri which was still frozen when it was brought to the table. Im a foodie person that knows good quality Japanese food. Go to Mcdonalds, you’ll get your money’s worth. I’ve noticed also that there is a lot of international tourists in town. Why insult them?

I doubt if there is any chef in the restaurant. The noodles are made by instant noodles and soups are made by powder. These are the only hot food here. There is only one egg in the noodle, which costs more than $ 15. It’s more expensive than the food in the Yellowstone park. Very disappointed. I don’t even want to give a star.

The experience was not good. There is no meat or even vegetables in the pork bone soup ramen! It cost more than 15 dollars. And I suspect where they get the soup, I don’t think they made it by themselves! The eel rice was also bad, the fish was cold Inside while hot outside, we suspect they just reheated it!

Never go to this place. Japanese restaurant run by Chinese and we’re Chinese that they deluded us with the so called«pork bone ‘soup’ ramen». It’s indeed«soup» ramen because it’s made of cup ramen(a small amount), powder soup base, absolutely no meat which at least one piece of roasted pork is supposed to be in it, 2 pieces of broccoli, half an egg and a few bean roots. It’s only at a value price of 16.5 dollars. We asked for meat or any shrimp to be added to avoid any conflict or trouble, they instead offered us one generous bowl of pure soup base, for the 4 of us in total. Thinking about filing a complain about this restaurant.

Never go to this restaurant! I went with my family and we ordered ramen and rolls. The pork ramen does not have any meat and is made of cup noodle, which charges 15 dollars! The worst thing is the boss charged 30 dollars more than the total and refused to provide itemized receipt. He also charged tip without telling us. It is the worst restaurant I had in my life!

Attractive interior. The menu is limited, featuring Ramen soup, a few of the more popular sushi rolls, sashimi and hand rolls. We tried the eel roll with avocado, tonkotsu ramen with hb egg, and chrysanthemum and gogi berry tea. Nothing exceptional and I believe the flavor and smell of the pickled ginger in the soup some would find offensive. It appeared that the Japanese chef(and I use that term loosely) in his ball cap and street clothes was more interested in texting on his phone than providing good food. They offer an interesting list of herbal and caffeinated teas. That was the saving grace to me. I think if you are craving Japanese food, you should hold out for better elsewhere, and certainly not in West Yellowstone. If you are craving hot noodle soup, maybe here. 2 ½ stars

The noodle from the ramen tasted worse than instant noodles you get from a good Asian supermarket. It was clumped together and the portion was small. The nonexistent cha-Shu, bamboo shoots and garnishing a makes one wonder why you even pay for a bowl of ramen at 15dollars.

I ordered ramen obviously without reading Unilocal reviews beforehand. Essentially this was not much too different from the noodle bowl you could easily purchase at a convenience store with one dollar or so. The environment was lovely, but it was not the point — you don’t compliment a writer by saying his handwriting is good. I also ordered appetizer with additional seaweed on the side. The lady simply forgot. She at the time barely had three tables of clients to deal with, and I’m not quite sure what other errands she needed to run. She’s a lovely person, but again, that was not the point.

TOURISTFRIENDS, DONTTRYTHISPLACE! I tried this restaurant while we were at West Yellowstone. I guess they’re targeting at tourists only since the food, is terrible. Like few other Unilocaler stated, food there was pricy and not good at all. Ramen noodle is instant noodle from supermarkets. If you have had enough instant ramen noodles like most of us Asian had, you can easily tell that the noodles there are far from«authentic». They add two tiny pieces of pork, a little sesame and there you go, 14 bucks! As being mentioned in other reviews too, the chicken fried rice is microwave food. DONTTRYTHISPLACE. I mean, do they even have a kitchen???

By far the WORST ramen I’ve ever had hands down. I know a lot of people find this place using Unilocal or tripadvisor, so if you’re reading my review, don’t ever try this restaurant. I ordered Tonkutsu ramen and chicken fried rice combo. The food must be really good basing on the price listed, I thought. When the food was served, I can’t even describe them as «a big let down». IT’S TOTALLY A RIPOFF!!! The ramen, well if you’ve ever tried those«instant noodle type ramen» which you can find in any major grocery store, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I’m not saying they taste like supermarket ramens, I’m saying that the restaurant are using those cheap products and selling them for 14 dollars. Oh then comes my favorite part, the chicken fried rice. When I was in college, I bought a lot of microwave foods from my school market. When my chicken fried rice was served, there’s no doubt I couldn’t recognize my college best friend. That’s exact the same microwave fried rice I had been eating. The restaurant itself looks super fancy and stuff. It may be the most fancy restaurant in West Yellowstone. But whoever is reading this, save yourself some money to buy Yellowstone souvenirs.

My first time in Yellowstone and this pretty restaurant, the environment was fine but food… not fit its price honestly. Everything was served quickly, even the check.

Newly opened just a few days ago. Nice atmosphere and fresh sushi. I did not try the tea but they have big selection of different teas. The owner is Chinese but he wanted to offer something new and different in West Yellowstone. I enjoyed the sushi. My one suggestion would be to add a few more non sushi items for folks who may be traveling with sushi lovers but perhaps they prefer something else. But this is a new place. I am sure they will change and adapt. Great for what it is!

I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen with Fried Rice. The ramen soup was good – not so much different from what I had in Philly, NYC, or California – but the noodles can be better. That being said, it’s only the third day of their opening as a Japanese restaurant so definitely expecting greater dining experiences in the future. Will definitely come back if I’m to visit Yellowstone again. Giving a 4 star for the ramen and another bonus star for the owner’s endeavor to open up a Japanese restaurant at this little town.
