Go to Bistro the food is amazing, the presentation is fabulous and best of all, the staff and owner are so nice and completely attentive… Everyone must go to the Bistro!

This place is a must try! The waitstaff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the foods they serve, some of which i have never seen on a menu elsewhere. The waiter convinced me to try new things that made me nervous(steak tartar with quail egg) that turned out to be delicious. The did is absolutely amazing and the location is great.

Tried this place for the first time and I certainly was not impressed by the décor or service. It is completely run down from the inside and out. The food was mediocre at best. The skirt steak was horrible. I had a difficult time chewing it. The crab cakes were good but anything covered in cream is good. I would not be surprised if they were not made there. My wife had a decent meal. She had two delicious tapas. The service was horrible. The sweaty waiter was not helpful at all. He brought back the wrong drink and spilled water all over the table which landed partially on my wife. I saw him laughing in back with the other server. Probable stating that they would not be receiving a tip. I made that come true. I have never done that but seeing that irritated me really bad. I always tip 15 – 20 percent. It made me sad.

We love the East Haven location and Westbrook is just as amazing. The service, food, presentation and atmosphere are wonderful. Tapas selection offers a variety of interesting combinations — perfect for a relaxing lunch or dinner.

We went here on vday for dinner and the food was awesome equally good customer service and ambience. Definitely a must try when in the area. We had crab cakes, shrimp with chickpea purée and the sea food paella. It was my wife’s bday and they got her crème brûlée on the house which was delicious.

Delicious and great sangria. Service is actually surprisingly fast. Super friendly. Would love some more spice like cilantro and lemon with their dishes.

It has been over a month since I went, but I can’t wait to go back. We went for lunch during the week, so we got great service as the place was empty. We selected five or six tapas off the menu, and they were all delicious.

This place is amazing. My husband and I have eaten here a number of times and always get the tapas. I love the Brussel sprout salad over a polenta cake. He loves every tar tar they have ever had on the menu. The only thing lacking is the desserts. They are bland and just dont live up to the rest of the food on the menu. I can get better frozen desserts at the local grocery store Skip them and order another tapa. That’s what we do.

UPDATE: The food isn’t good anymore. Lots of stuff was frozen. Not a match… the board goes back.

I am pretty upset that so many 4⁄5 star ratings on Google and Unilocal steered me here. I am a local, had not visited yet, and had heard good things so felt like I needed to go. My date and I sat at the bar, the only red wine we wanted to drink from the menu they were out of. Not going to ruin my evening at all, just felt like it was worth mentioning. We ordered the Pinchos Mixtos, the Chorizo Español, and the Lamb Crepes. Everything was edible, but that is the best I can say about it. The flavors were lacking, and similar dishes have been executed better in my kitchen. The meat had little to no flavor, and the sauces tasted like they came from a can. I would only go once more to try a couple different dishes.

Truly a spectacular dining experience! My wonderful girlfriend and I just finished a day shopping at the Clinton Outlets and decided to find a place nearby for some dinner. Based on the ratings, we decided with Bistro Mediterranean. A very great choice for sure! Upon entering, we seen the place to be full for dinner and decided to wait. Altogether, the wait was about 10 minutes or less! I’ve noticed the décor to be very calm, relaxing and romantic. We were seated at the bar. At the bar we can see the two main bartenders were very busy but tended to us every chance he got to. We started off with drinks which I ordered the Old Fashioned and a Mojito for my lovely lady. The Old Fashioned was very good, maybe the best I’ve had in CT so far! The Mojito was also very fresh! Now, on to the good part. No the great part! We ordered the empanadas as an appetizer, the Halibut for myself and the Beef short ribs for the lady. Empanadas were great, never had guacamole with empanadas but it was certainly a great addition to an already awesome dish! The Halibut was pan seared to perfection and laid beautifully on top of a bed of perfectly cooked something that I can’t remember ha! The Beef Short Ribs were also cooked to perfection, served with a handful of spinach and perfect mashed potatoes. The presentation was absolutely amazing! Beautiful display, I didn’t even want to touch any of it! To top it all off we finished up with the Flan for dessert which was also perfect. What else can I say?! I’m babbling now! We WILL definitely be coming back again! I want to thank our server for being a great one, and thank the chef for preparing an absolutely amazing dinner for us! Hope you guys read this. Thank you guys!

Absolutely outstanding food-and better service. The tapas menu is varied, simple and incredibly well prepared. The goat cheese or eggplant do not disappoint. As exceptional as the food is, the hospitality-not service– is better. The staff cannot do enough to make your experience exceed your expectations. This is visit 4 or 5 for us and despite what we now expect, the team here does more.

Amazing Food, Excellent Service. I use to work here and I still go here to eat! The owner is so generous, the food is authentic and the taste is like nothing you’ve ever experienced on the shoreline. Great wine list, awesome entrée choices. And you get an after dinner drink for free?! What could be better?! Favorites: Empanadas, Brussel sprout salad, cod croquettes, scallop entrée, fried eggplant tapas and the list goes on… everything is on point!

We ordered strawberry salad with scallop, empanadas and seafood crêpe. I highly recommend the seafood crêpe and empanadas. For entrée I ordered paellar, the kind with seafood, chicken and pork. It was delicious. For dessert we got cappuccino and tres leches. Both were alright.

Bistro Mediterranean & Tapas Bar — Westbrook, CT — 6÷8÷2015 It’s the type of place you would drive by without ever realizing just what awaits you inside. Not much to look at from the outside and when searching online for a good place to eat, they don’t even have a menu on Unilocal.Click on their website link in that app and you won’t be impressed either… But… If you are willing to take a chance??? Go inside. Kind of an interesting layout. The bar, with its backsplash style tiles… The stone wall on part of the walls and even the single solid doors you walk thru… Nothing screams wow… The waiter was friendly… Offered us either inside or outside… We opted for the patio although perhaps it was a bit colder than we had planned on and then the real surprise hit us… The menu… Talk about a diverse, sophisticated offering of foods… Not at all what you see in most restaurants and quite a bit to choose from. Wether it be Pasta, Meats, Fish… There is something for everyone. We ordered the Rigatoni with Chicken and Pork in a Marinara that was simply devine. Also the Branzino atop a Seafood Risotto… Calimari, soft and not the least bit chewey. Small bits of Scallops in a wonderful sauce. Plating was perfect and flavours intense… For dessert we had both the Tres Leches which also was to die for. It was almost as good as my daughter the pastry Chef makes and the caramelized bananas with a scoop of vanilla Ice Cream. This place was absolutely fabulous and one of the best kept secrets in the area. Why they don’t do more to promote this amazing restaurant is beyond me. We grabbed a menu to take home and will definitely be back. I guarantee that if they do a better job promoting the place there would be a line down the block. Kudos to the chef. Kick your marketing dept in the pants, your place should be packed! Needless to say, I highly recommend this place!

This place was interesting. My boyfriend and his family and I came here for Mother’s Day and the menu was great. My boyfriend and I ordered seafood bisque and potato leek soup to start. His seafood bisque was SO good and my potato leek soup was good too — his was better. We also got squid, shrimp and empandas. The shrimp were in a garlic sauce and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The sauce was so good, I snuck a spoonful! It wasn’t the typical Tapas bar I’ve been to before but it was still great. I would actually like to try their regular dinner menu as they have paella, so it looks like we will be back!

Snowy Monday night and we we’re the only ones in the place… Steak tartare, Tuna tartare & grilled shrimp over chickpea purée… We couldn’t decide which one we liked better. Had the shaved brussel salad, seafood crêpe and the linguini with shrimp and clams. Everything was delicious, so happy we stopped in. By the time we left a few more people stopped in, as they should have. Can’t wait to go back!

On a frigid New England night, a little taste of Spain. First some savory olives with some interesting spices dancing around. Charming and attentive wait staff opened a fresh bottle of wine for my companion and I to taste. Juan Gil is spicy and held up to the strong flavors in the food. The gas fire warmed us up as we nibbled on great tapas(Steak Tartar with truffle and quail egg? Chorizo and lentil? Yes, yes, yes) The prices were very fair compared to the quality of the food. $ 6-$ 8 per tapas plate. Felt like we were in Europe where it’s ok to sit and have a conversation at the table without being rushed out.
