A park to run The Daniel P. Wren Park is a small, very open park that is more of a field that a traditional park. It does have a little playground, a basketball hoop and surprisingly a shuffleboard court but most of it is just open space. Of course the open space is used for soccer, baseball and other activities at various times of the year but there is always plenty of room to run, ride a bike or find a place just to relax. The park has a small woody area on one side so you can take a short hike. The park was named after Daniel Wren, a very prominent activist and political figure that served the town of Westbrook for many years. He was considered so popular and important they even had a day in his honor. Mr Wren pasted away in 2004 at the age of 94 but this small park will ensure his name will not be forgotten.
