Hi Checkers …
Been here whole bunch of times already I wrote a review… Then received very poor treatment,(by manager) and had to pull it…
Let’s try it again!
Stopped back another 10 times before writing this review to be able to properly and fairly evaluate this checkers.
Let’s start with the good…
(1) Of the chain restaurants up and down Old Country Road… this is among one of the best…
(when they are on their game)!!!
(2) if you speak Spanish… YOU’RE IN! there will not be any mistakes or any problems at the drive-​thru.
(which is where folks mostly go)
(2) develop patience
(3) Please make sure that they make your sandwich FRESH… wait a couple of minutes .
Please indicate that you need the meat FRIED up FRESH…
NOT JUST assembled fresh
(4) ALLWAYS check your order before leaving AS VERY often…
items are omitted and not made to order
(5) The Quality here.)…
Is very inconsistent .
One DAY… I got the $ 5 special, it was GREAT !
I asked that it be freshly made and it was!
The next day I ordered the same thing. (clearly old patties) and the funnel cake was also old with with the glaze topping all caked and cracked… threw it away!
In summation; I will continue to stop back here, because it is the only place open sometimes .
and if I take the extra time to be very clear at the drive-​thru about what I want… and then check my order before leaving.
I’ll get an ok meal…

I just had a 5 star experience at this checkers. Was starving with my girlfriend deciding what to eat and went to checkers not expecting much. We pulled up to their cool double drive-​thru and I ate a bacon cheese checker burger and a spicy chicken deluxe. They were both delicious and satisfying especially considering they were two for 5 $. The drive-​thru young lady was very nice and accommodating, appreciated the service. Their two for 1 $ apple pie was a decadent dessert. Will definitely be coming back.

Was in the area after a visit at the Holy Rood cemetery and was looking for a quick bite on our way back to our hotel… stopped at Checkers and we were not disappointed! The food was great and they were willing to let us back up after we realized we were missing food on our order… the drive-​thru on both sides was a cool feature, glad I had a passenger though! The milkshakes were extra thick, but it worked out as we had a drive to get back to our hotel and by the time we got there we were able to drink them! Definitely filling, wish they were in CT!

I enjoy coming to checkers because they have the best fries compared to the other fast food restaurants but this time my fries was just cold and stale. The bacon burger I got had weird tasting sauce that was alright but did make me feel nauseous afterwards. I was really disappointed with my all out food experience the only thing that wasn’t bad was the soda.

I’m baaaaack… updating my previous review. Stars remain unchanged at 3. The chicken hasn’t gotten any better since my last visit, so to address the comment in my previous review. No, I did not catch them on a bad day. I actually only stopped in because the place was literally right in front of my face and I was running out of time for lunch so needed to grab something and head back to work quick, and that it was… quick.
Anyway, I mainly wanted to say that the milk shakes are damn thick here. It’s pretty much just ice cream in a cup with a straw. If you plan on getting a milkshake here be sure to ask for a spoon instead. It will spare you all of the awkward looks as you make that fish face trying to suck this shake out of a straw. The awesome part about it being so thick though is it wont melt by the time you get to your destination if you are taking a to go order.
Obviously I got a milkshake, but I also go the chicken bites, some value fries, and a BLT with cheese. Knowing that I ordered both chicken bites and fries you would think that there was some kind of sauce in my bag right? Nope, not even a single measly packet of ketchup. I don’t think the value fries are actually worth it. They give you about the same amount of other fast food places ie: Mc Donald’s size small in a paper packet only other fast food restaurants only charge a dollar for it. They do give you a good amount of chicken for the order of chicken bites even if the chicken itself ain’t so great. The BLT however was yummy and I got a decent looking tomato inside of it this time, finally! I feel like I’ve won the lottery. Sidenote, if you aren’t a fan of mayo ask them to hold it. There was a crapload of mayo on this BLT. The bonus was the drive through cashier also gave me coupons for my next visit.

i think we would all agree… starting off with the food: the «loaded» french fries are so good! Seasoned fries topped with ranch, cheese and bacon. its also somewhat of a large portion, me and my honey always share one order. they also have «baconzilla» fries with cheese and extra bacon, haven’t tried those, but you can bet i will. oh yes and i don’t want to forget to mention they have chili cheese fries, I’m not into the chili thing but these look really good and i know lots of people are into that. I personally always get some type of chicken sandwich on there awsum slice bread. Its always so good! I’m not a beef kinda gal but every once in a while i get the bacon roadhouse, bbq sauce, onion rings, cheese and bacon… YUM! My honey goes with the roadhouse also. they also have shake, dessert and wings, but i never have room for any of that stuff.
my honey wants to make sure i say, we only visit once every few months because its greasy and unhealthy. If your looking for anything remotely healthy, keep it moving onto the next spot.
service is always great here, fast and accurate! they have no seating inside and like two picnic tables outside. this is a drive thru kind of place.
they always have a 2 for 5 special.

We’re convinced they cook the french fries in chicken fat. There’s no other way they can get them that delicious!

I’d probably eat at checkers more often if they were closer to my house. I don’t understand why everyone goes so nuts over sonic when we have checkers. I personally thought Checkers was better than sonic or at least almost exactly the same. the only thing I don’t like is their fries. checkers burgers though you get my stamp of approval for deliciousness! now if only you weren’t all the way down old country road…

Still prefer Wendys.

They are better then McDonalds, Wendys and Burger Kind. Great Spicy fries. The drive thru is great for both sides of the car, as long as there is a passagner in the car. Sux to reach over the passanger side to get the food. Dont go thru the passanger drive thru if you are by your self even if the line is shorter. It sound like a good idea. Reach over and get the food then sit back in the driver seat only to tip something over and Bam soda every wear.

Checkers? Yes please. Gotta love this place. I crave their seasoned fries and yummy big buford burger, hold the cheese. I’m never dissappointed coming to checkers. Their chicken fingers are also great and hot dogs! Yummm. I love when they have the orange cream milk shake.

Hit up the Checkers/Rally’s site and get on their e-​list to score a free small shake coupon with a faraway expiration date.
I’m admittedly a lil rusty at the whole fast food/​drive-​thru thang, and always confused but delighted by the Checkers no seats design… I waltzed in and got my free small banana milkshake. The phrase ‘that’s it’ is lost on me when someone places a $ 16 order with just one passenger.
In any case, the crack reconstituted as pastel-​yellow-​thicky-​goop-​siphoned-​thru-​a-​straw is arguably the best way to get stoked for the Easter bunny, ya heard?

The food here might not be the healthiest food out there but surely this has to be one of the «best bang for the buck» place to go! The food here are cheap & tasty! The burger here is quite delicious & the fully loaded fries… oooohhh… aaahhh… they’re sooo tasty…

I don’t know what does it for me, but every time I come here, this place is bliss. Granted this is fast food, it’s not exactly the healthiest, but it blows all the competition out of the water. The only other possible competition would have to be White Castle, but Checkers trumps McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s. I can go on and on. My new found love is the Texas Roadhouse with two patties, melted american cheese, BBQ sauce, onion rings, some mayo sauce, on a sourdough-​type of bread. Yum!!! Don’t forget the loaded fries if you can handle them!

Well since I dislike Mcdonalds, wendy’s, and burger king, when it comes to fast food I always eat at Taco Bell. However I have always seen Checkers around while on Long Island. So one day myself and a friend decided to finally give Checkers a try.
Mainly a drive thru burger place Checkers has two lanes for drive thru outside which is great, and inside a few stools and a place to order. So the ordering works like any other fast food place and there are many items to choose from.
I tried the Big Buwford which was surprisingly good, better than a Big Mac and it felt fresher. The fries were great, the best I have ever had from any fast food chain, would definitely recommend them. I will be back to Checkers in the near future and will try some of the other menu choices. I would recommend this over McDonalds.

I don’t eat fast food much at all, but I’ve always wanted to try Checkers when I pass them. While in the area, and nothing really else around, my friend and I drove into this location (it is only drive through or walk-​in with about 4 stools).
I ordered a number one, which had some name that has escaped me, however, I was less concerned about the name, and more concerned with the taste. The burger was actually pretty good. The lettuce and tomato seemed to be dry, but it’s fast food, not so much gourmet. The fries were delicious and unlike most places, the order was not screwed up. Quick service and short lines. In conclusion, skip McDonalds and head to Checkers.
There is plenty of parking and two drive through lanes.
