Family run, friendly, best ice cream I’ve ever had(and I eat ice cream) 12mo a year.

As a local I drive 15 miles to have this in season. The raspberry choc chip is delicious! The walnut maple is really good too.

On Friday, 9÷18÷15, I had breakfast at St. Clair Annex because is was recommended to me by the hotel staff. What a disappointment. I have had a better breakfast at Denny’s. The service was average. The food was not that great. Like is said, I rather go to Denny’s. $ 38+ for a breakfast sandwich, an eggs Benedict, with no sides. I had to order a side of hash browns that appeared to have been frozen prior to being fried, two coffees, which was not that great, and two small orange juices. It was pretty hot that day, so later that afternoon I bought a 12 ounce lemonade. $ 3 for a 12 ounce cup. The lemonade tasted like water. You want a good breakfast where it’s much cheaper and the food is actually good, drive a couple miles away to The Cooked Goose.

Average taste for ice cream. Too much sugar. when I compare this to places in Newport and Maine, it is not in the same league. But not bad for a visit to watch hill and you can walk down the beach with ice cream.

Good old fashioned treats, moderately priced and made fresh to order! Had several fabulous lunches here. The lobster salad roll is unbelievably great! We even called ahead a few times for takeout and everything was fresh and made to order and waiting for us! Very nice servers and staff. Fun beachside place for a delicious, high quality bite!

If you are looking for a tasty meal or simple snack there’s nothing better than this comfy, no frills retreat. The food is fantastic, mostly homemade. The clam chowder, lobster rolls and homemade ice cream are an essential part of the Watch Hill experience. Skip the other places and visit St. Claire’s twice!!!

I have been to St. Clair quite a number of times over the last decade or so… it’s always consistently good. The burgers are nicely prepared and the ice creams are delicious. My favorite is the black cherry chocolate chip, but the mint crunch and the soft serve are solid. The cherry dip was especially tasty. The staff is always kind and accommodating no matter how busy they are… just what you’d expect in the area.

Decent food, mediocre coffee, anxious staff, long wait for breakfast. The food is lackluster with no fuss or presentation. There are no turkey bacon/ham options, which is disappointing because Eggs Benedict is my normal go to. When I go out to eat a I want something I can’t make myself, and that’s why I won’t be back here. Come here if you’re getting food to-go as a beach picnic. Heck, you can walk inside in your bikini and no one will bat an eye. Just watch out for the bland food and staff who clearly need Xanax.

Typical beach town shack that serves grinders, deli sandwiches, hamburgers and ice cream they claim is local made. Ice cream was rather good. The hamburger wasn’t bad but the bun it was served in was insipid and sweet. Fixings you have to ask for, otherwise they serve it naked. You order at the counter either take out or eat in and pick up at the counter. Avoid the clam chowder unless you are not from New England and thus is the only place you’ll eat in. My partner ordered a lobster salad sandwich which was described as pretty good. Better than Mickey Dees? Barely. Inexpensive(relatively for the area) eatery that is pretty quick. Cash only and have to ask but there is a hidden restroom for the patrons.

Very disappointed. Not the ice cream store from years back when my children were young. The pistachio was died green and had Green candy pieces. Not good. Cappuccino also had candy pieces. Sadly we will not be back.

Oh the lobster rolls… St. Clair is a little spot right in downtown Watch Hill. The location has a bunch of tables, but it fills up very quickly for lunch during the summer. You order at the counter, and get called when your food is ready. Besides lunch options, they also have baked goods and ice cream. The lobster rolls are very good; lots of lobster meat without being overly dressed, served in a buttered roll. The fries were piping hot. The pricing was also excellent, especially for the area. On each of my visits, the staff has been very nice and helpful even during busy times. Overall, this is an excellent lunch option if you’re in Watch Hill, as long as you don’t mind taking the food to go because of a lack of available seating.

Have been going here since a child. Last week I ordered a pepper burger to go. Got home to find a pepper and egg sub in the bag! Took it back and the owner’s son(I believe) was very apologetic and quickly cooked up the burger, insisting I take a full refund. Can’t get better customer service than that! Breakfast is always great here… fresh OJ!

It was a night night for ice cream so when we passed this place we just had to buy ice cream! The ice cream is homemade there. There weren’t too many flavors compared to other places I have been.(Maybe I’m spoiled… haha) I chose black raspberry frozen yogurt and it was good, it definitely hit the spot but it’s not my favorite ice cream ever. My mom had cappuccino and my boyfriend had coffee Oreo. The best part is the location, beautiful and convenient. The people at the counter were polite and helpful.

I spent nearly every weekend in Westerly last summer, and no weekend was quite complete until I got my fix at St. Clair Annex. Their peppermint ice cream is divine; they’re one of few ice cream establishments that I know of that carry the flavor regularly. I’ve also had coffee, sandwiches, and snacks from St. Clair Annex, and they’ve all been fantastic. This little local institution is snug between tons of shops and close to the cute little carousel which is popular among the area’s kid community. Right on the beach, St. Clair Annex should be on your must-do list when in Westerly or the Watch Hill area.

So very yummy. Been coming here for over 30 years and it is always a staple of my summers in Rhode Island. They have such a great array of ice cream and the food is great beach food. Nothing fancy but every loves their grinders and lobster rolls. Plus their lemonade is out of this world! My summer is not complete unless I go a couple of times. Plus their staff is really nice and its great seeing the same faces every year!

Yummy diner and icecream parlor in an adorable seaside town location. I just we’d seen TSwizz here — because that would be awesome:)

The rating is purely for the lobster roll which was sensational. Worth a detour anytime you are driving anywhere near Watch Hill.

Didn’t know quite what to expect from a spot in a touristy locale serving up sandwiches and ice cream. With a captive audience, the food just has to be mediocre to keep the crowds coming. I was pleasantly surprised with some delectable eats. I bought my littles three kiddie cups of ice cream with sprinkles with a total tab of ten bucks. A little steep, but expected because of the location and season. The ice cream was decent and the one scoop serving more than did the trick for my pint-sized companions. The real winner was the luncheon I purchased for myself at the counter just a few feet away. I’m a RI native and I like my chowder clear… as in no cream or tomatoes in the mix. I bought a cup of clear chowder and treated myself to a lobster roll and fries as well. The gal behind the counter initially brought over the creamy chowder variety and I mentioned I wanted«clear». There was some grumbling but she served up the clear broth biz in speedy fashion and handed me the call-back ticket for the sandwich. Double zero! But had to hold back a star because good service is key for me. The chowder was OUTSTANDING! This chowder featured good bits of quoahog — the large variety hard shell clam — with tasty potatoes and onions. It had a rich broth seasoned gently with rosemary. SO good. Not long afterwards, my lobster roll came up at the counter. It was a roll served up in a buttered hot dog bun cradled in some finely shredded iceberg lettuce and a side of piping hot fries. I counted at least four whole lobster claws in the roll and the meat was fresh-out-of-the-shell tender and delicious. The whole cup of chower and roll was twenty bucks. Seriously? A freaking bargain! I would go back tonight — four hours later for another lobster roll and cup of chowder. Sensing by the line out the door, this joint respects its place as a purveyor of quality eats by the seashore. Nicely done.

This is the spot to go to if you want some freakishly amazing ice cream to enjoy while on a walk to East Beach. Two highly recommended ice cream flavors are blueberry and hazelnut. The watermelon sorbet tasted like sweet ice mixed with kool aid so thank goodness we sampled that beforehand. To elaborate on how good the blueberry ice cream was, I don’t think I’ve ever tried blueberry ice cream as good and I loved how they used small wild blueberries mixed in the ice cream to give it a little bit more authenticity. We received 3 samples and the girl charged us for the 3rd scoop at twenty five cents which she didn’t notify us formally until she gave us all the samples! Way to squeeze an extra quarter from us «out of towners.» Good thing we did sample though or else we would have been stuck with $ 5 for two scoops of ice cream with that dreaded watermelon sorbet. Remember the blueberry ice cream, you won’t be disappointed.
