This is where customer service is King! I’m not a runner but a walker«of size.» I went into the Store and was immediately greeted and waited on by one of the owners. He looked at my me shoes, asked me questions and bought me a few pairs until I found the right one. No hassle, just expertise. I felt just like I belonged there! Since I am new to the area he was fantastic to give me some places to try the trails. I’m a customer for life. Don’t let the store size fool you– they have a vast selection. Worth every penny!

Personal service at it’s best. Very pleased with the running shoes I bought and Mike’s expert opinions on which shoes would work the best with my feet. Really happy I went here instead of the local big box store.

This place remains my go-to athletic shoe store. When I first went there(in 2009), I had foot problems(plantar fascitis, bumps on my achilles tendons), but they worked with me to find something that would address those issues. I barely even remember that I had those problems, because I no longer suffer from them! The people there are wonderful. I’m by NOMEANS an athlete, but I’ve never felt judged or less than. They’ve always taken good care of me and made me feel comfortable and valued. Go! Go! Get thee to Columbus Running Company!

I dropped by here for the first time to pick up my Dublin Irish Fest 5k packet and figured I’d buy myself my first real pair of running shorts. As always, it’s downtown Westerville, so parking can sometimes be squirrely. They do have a nice tiny lot right behind the store, though, so if you go mid-day as I did you’ll have no problem. The store itself is fairly tiny(again: downtown Westerville). Their selection is mostly shoes, but they also have some clothes available. Not a huge selection… I was looking at maybe 7 pairs to choose from, and most did not have my size. There was just one gentleman working the store and he was with another customer helping him pick shoes. He seemed to be giving some quality services, but alas since there was just one guy there and picking shoes does take awhile, I decided to just randomly pick a pair of running shorts I thought I’d like, and go. If you need help, and you’re willing to wait around for it(especially if you go during off-hours), then check it out!

Let me begin by saying – I’m not a runner. I’m pretending/trying to be. I’ve signed up to do a triathlon in July, so each week I become more of a runner. I’ve always gone to buy a cheap pair of cute running shoes and called it a day. But, since I broke both my feet in college, I found out the hard way that shoes really do matter when running since mine don’t stand the pounding too well. I walked in to CRC with zero expectations. I am in Westerville a lot and I figured that since I was pretending to be a runner, I should go to a runner’s store. I told the guys at the desk I had no idea what I was doing in there, but I felt I needed to buy big girl proper running shoes. The owner(I can’t remember his name) immediately came to my rescue. He took the time to watch how I walked, looked at my feet, and brought about 10 different pairs of shoes out for me to try on. He listened to what I said, educated me on what I didn’t know and helped me find a pair of shoes that I consider now a very smart purchase. These guys know their stuff and are very, very accomodating. I will continue to use them as my running gear headquarters. It’s a small but mighty store with a great selection of shoes, gear and snacks to fit any level of runner. Even us pretenders.

I definitely like these guys for these support of local runners. They sponsor free group runs via the Cbus Pacers group. While the new store doesn’t have the parking of the old store’s strip mall, there is plenty of parking on the street and a nearby lot north of the store. In this new location, they are much easier to find.

Hidden away in the corner location of a strip mall along route 3… I stumbled upon the Westerville Columbus Running Co. I knew they had a Dublin location(and a Pickerington, too) but I didn’t know they were in Westerville. Being a runner, I was familiar with the CRC brand, as they sponsor and organize dozens of Columbus races. I hadn’t stepped foot into their store until now. They seemed to have a solid selection of gear. A wall of great shoes, plenty of racks with running tees, shorts and even the sock wall, which is a personal favorite of mine.(Don’t underestimate the power of a plush sock when you’re pounding pavement for an hour or more!) This location lacked an in-store personality(just plain racks and walls of products) — but really, how much frill do you need when buying a pair of shoes or socks? Overall, the prices were pretty comparable to other local running stores and FYI, the occasional sales will save you lots of dough!

Bought my first pair of running kicks today after a broom ball-induced knee injury brought my running hobby to a dead stop 5 years ago. Before venturing into a running store I queried all my running friends about where they shop for shoes. A number of them mentioned Columbus Running Company(CRC). I was thrilled to learn CRC had a local presence in my ‘hood. Upon entering the Westerville store with my bike, I was greeted by owner Matt DeLeon and his dog. I am a sucker for a dog any day. Matt took the necessary time with me to understand my needs, study my stride, and work with me to try on several(& I do mean several) pairs of kicks. I was encouraged to take them for a trial run in the parking lot but I settled for the air conditioned comfort of the store’s treadmill. I eventually landed on a pair of Adidas SuperNova Glides. The price point was what I expected — $ 100.00. And there is a 30 day return period if needed. I’m a fan and I’ll be back. As for the shoes, I’ve already logged 2 miles on these beauties.
