Horrible and I mean super rude hostess! Took forever to get the food and I ended up with food poisoning from the chicken raviolli. Only reason I give it two stars is for the nice waiters. But seriously I rather go to Olive Garden and get better food for half the price!

I don’t like Farfalla ad I still don’t! Let me tell you why… We met friends in Westlake Village and of course as soon as you walk in, you are met with this mass intrusion of a table in the middle of the room. On the side of the behemoth table on the wall the host station and on the other side the bar… unbelievably crowded, hint get rid of the behemoth table. The service almost fair, but mostly poor. We came for a pizza and salad, neither were even close to being good… pizza was undercooked and tasteless. I’m sorry, I can’t recommend this place… I can see why they have 3.5 stars

We love this place! The happy hour menu is quite extensive with a wide selection of dishes and beverages to choose from. The main restaurant offers a great variety of dishes including their fabulous fresh fish and daily specials… most of which can be accompanied by vegetables or pasta to your liking. The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond in making your experience a positive one.

Good service and beautiful ambiance, but the food is just not that good — especially if you’re an Italian food snob like myself :) Do not get the farfalla smoked salmon pasta, the pink vodka sauce is overly sweet. The shrimp linguine is decent.

The food is good, but that’s where the positive comments end. The food is a tad overpriced at this local, loud haunt that feels like a chain restaurant. The service is terrible. My family was seated in the covered patio. Our waiter barely talked to us, never came back with requested bread, brought the wine to my wife when she was almost done eating her food. In fact, the Italian restaurant ran out of bread. Our plate of sauce were abandoned without a way to dip into it with bread. I mean, no right minded Italian place runs out of bread nor does it skimp on attentiveness. Skip it. Go to Rustico instead

My friend Erin and I stopped here for dinner after a day of kayaking in Ventura. The pasta entrée I tried was very tasty and hearty. The server was attentive and helpful. The restaurant is clean and tables are comfortable and spaced comfortably apart. This is in a shopping center so there is ample parking and choices.

I had to leave this establishment because of the terrible and unprofessional service. We were seated at a table and while we were waiting I went to the bar to order a drink. I noticed my waiter and the bar tender were arguing and waiving my card around. I asked if there was a problem and they said that I couldn’t order the drinks at the bar if I had a table as well. I felt extremely uncomfortable as they were yelling about me in Italian right in front of me. I was looking forward to eating here but unfortunately will not be back due to this unprofessional confrontation about me. I had to leave this restaurant because of how uncomfortable and nasty they were. The new waitress told us that because they are Italian they tend to yell a lot. Seriously? Wow

Found this place on open table and came in with my guest. Sat in the little covered patio area outside which was quant and nice. Ordered two pasta dishes. My only gripe is for the price of the dishes I would expect larger portions and a bit more quality in the food. But the service was great overall.

Crawled through the Cougars prowling the doorway and was told it would be a 45 mins wait for a table on the patio! Hubby put his head around the doorway and spied an empty table. The young dark haired gal with glasses at the desk said we couldn’t have it and didn’t bother taking our name and walked away! So much for customer service. While we were standing there stunned at her attitude another gal came over and said yes you can have it, we’ll get it cleaned up for you right now!!! Wow, what a difference. Obviously customer service isn’t important to this establishment, plenty of reviews below back this up. Once seated on the patio we waited for a while to get drinks. Water came, but the soda hubby ordered took 2 attempts to remind the waitress we were still waiting and it arrived with the meal. We had to ask another waiter for a water and soda top up. The waitress must have been taking a mini vacation! So service is definitely lacking, Food? Actually we liked everything we ordered, it was well cooked, tasty, hot on arrival and plenty of it on the plate. Short ribs and fettucine — this was the best dish, falling apart, melt in the mouth meatiness. Veal Parmesan — plenty of cheese and again mouth watering. Pasta Arrabiatta — not enough veg/olives but it was nice and spicy and well sauced High end pricing definitely doesn’t match the customer service. Plus the noise of the drunk middle aged cougars snapping and growling over every man under the age of 35 who walked through the door was a bit much! If you are a young male and want to live dangerously go here, if you want to sit and get wasted at the bar go here, if you want a nice meal with good customer service avoid it like the zoo it is!

So wait! Perfect location in Westlake Village, I’ve been meaning to try this place for the longest time, and it’s an epic disappointment. I feel like I’ve been jolted. Perhaps it was just the super soft chicken ravioli which was smothered in this ridiculously unfortunate heavy cream sauce paired with their Pinot Grigio was horrific. Please please let this just be a small sidetrack to perhaps the more well known dishes here. I sat at the bar which was incredibly empty at the end of a long work week and I asked the bartender to order the best chicken pasta and she picked this. In Chicago this place would close down in a heartbeat. The service was great but I feel like after I told her what what I wanted the least tasty dish was offered. I’ll be back and try to order a salad or pizza and see how that is but judging this is an Italian restaurant every pasta dish should be great. Pinot was pinot, nothing spectacular but it served the job. Step it up Westlake otherwise we’re going to regret moving to the suburbs for good; and permanently miss downtown culinary experiences.

Great Happy Hour. Good choices of wine. Food is very good. Both the Happy Hour food and everything on their regular menu is quality and very well prepared. Favorite is their Vodka Pasta with chicken.

When I found out I’d be having lunch here with family from out of town, I was elated. The menu looked fantastic! Being a vegetarian, I was glad to see I had options and wasn’t forced to choose between two things, as is usually the case. We went on a weekday during lunch time. They were not busy, so we were seated right away. It’s possible we might have had a reservation, but I’m not certain. Our server was friendly, and from the conversation, I gathered that she’d worked there for quite a few years. What people do on their own time should have no bearing on their service, but she had this horribly raspy smoker’s voice that inevitably detracted from the classiness of the experience. My aunt ordered something off the menu which prompted our server to return shortly thereafter and ask that she select something else because they’d run out of a particular ingredient essential to that dish. Not a big deal, it happens, but on a slow day, that seems like something you should know ahead of taking an order. I ordered the ravioli di zucca: pumpkin ravioli with walnuts in a cream sauce($ 19). It was HORRID. One can expect pumpkin ravioli to have a measure of sweetness, so likewise, I expected the sauce to counter the sweetness with a sort of savory cheesiness– not the case. The ravioli filling was super sweet, as was the cream sauce. My dish might as well have been a dessert… sweet on sweet. I felt like a was eating a pound of sugar. When our server came toward the end of the meal and asked how our food was, I told her simply, «Mine’s just… not good. At all.» There was an awkward pregnant pause and then she continued on as if nothing had been said, asking if anyone would like some coffee. She was extremely efficient and attentive otherwise and accounts for the second star in my review, but because of this less than stellar dining experience, this is one place in Westlake I’ll steer clear of.

Farfalla is so generous with the happy hours, it’s busy anyway, but especially overrun by Westlakers during this time, every red nosed person in this city is here. Happy hours run M-Thu 4pm-7pm, Fri-Sat 3pm-6pm, and Sunday 1pm-6pm: Beers $ 4, Wine and Cocktails $ 6 – 8. Yeah! Best of night: — — — — — — Shrimp Pesto Pizza($ 18.95, aka«Pizza Alla Messicana» — beautiful whole shrimp with pesto, avocado, and jalapenos atop a really good, medium thickness, 14″ pie. Plenty for 2.(5.0 stars) The alright: — — — — — Chicken Milanese($ 23.95) — think chicken parm. Take away the tomato sauce and mozzarella and add arugula and parm. Dry, and a bit boring if you ask me. Served with a nice mélange of vegetables. Good, but wouldn’t order again.(3.5 stars) The big turn-off: — — — — — — — Reservations at 630pm on a Friday night. By 7pm, table is still not ready. By 715pm, table was given to someone else. Really? Saving grace was that my party found room at the bar, and we partook of happy hour. So, not turn-off was minimized. Overall: — — — - 3.5 stars rounded up for 4.0 stars. It’s nice, good for a casual date or small party. Service is better than the average bear.

Went to Farfalla for the first time Saturday night. Found it on Open Table. Things got off to a poor start when the hostess tried to sit us in what was probably the worst table in the restaurant — a very small table about 5 feet from the very busy kitchen with the wait staff constantly running by. When we asked to be seated elsewhere she made some bizzare comment about all the reservations that were about to come in like we didn’t have one(which we did through Open Table and the restaurant called me to confirm). We threatened to leave if we weren’t moved and all of a sudden she found a table for two on the patio. BTW, there were plenty of vacant tables for two near where we were seated and many were still vacant when we left. Our waiter was very impersonal and hard to understand — not the least bit friendly. He also acted like he couldn’t get away from our table fast enough. As a result he got a very low tip. I have to say the the main courses were pretty good. I had the angel hair pasta with tomato, spinach, garlic and olive oil and my wife had a dinner salad. When we were done with the main courses again the waiter acted like he was trying to get rid of us. We had to ask to see a dessert menu. We ordered the Tiaramisu which was very average and had a way too strong coffee aftertaste. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere but based on our interaction with the hostess and waiter I am not sure if we will go back. There are plenty of other restaurants to chose from.

First of all this review is based partially on food quality but mostly about service and probably the worst performance or lack thereof of a restaurant and it’s management /owner to properly address and remedy a problem. I live in the area and have been to Farfalla probably 3 — 4 times prior to my last visit. The food has always been hit and miss but generally average at best. I decided to stop in for a quick bite after a long day and drive home from the city. I sat in the bar at the communal table and ordered a Pellegrino along with a few small plates for dinner. Where the problem started was next to me was a girl on a blind date who clearly wasn’t interested or having fun and began chatting me up. Her date ordered some food and also a bottle of wine for the two of them. She kept trying to involve me in there conversation which I wasn’t interested other than to be polite but suffice to say her date was not a happy camper and this was no love connection lol… The date ended and they left and went there separate ways rather quuckly. When I finished shortly thereafter the bartender closed out my tab and charged my card not only for my food but also the bill of the couple sitting next to me. Unbeknownst to me the guy went to the bar and instead of paying there check told the guy that we were all friends and I was taking care of the bill. Clearly a lowlife dirtball move… When he brought back my card and the receipt I was shocked and immediately pointed out the error. He proceeded to argue with me and said I was responsible«for my friends bill» I asked for the manager none were on duty and he said I couldn’t leave unless I paid the bill or he would call the police and prosecute me. I paid the bill and called the following morning I finally reached the manager who told me he would look into and get back to me. That never happened when I finally reached him the next day he said that according to the bartender it was my bill case closed. I took exception and umbridge to that misinformation and demanded the owner who I reached later that day. In a very thick accent he informed me that it was either my responsibility or the bartender because he wasn’t doing anything it’s my problem not his. When I pointed out that we weren’t together arrived and left separately and I had never met them before in my life. Why didn’t the bartender verify this with me before he let them leave and merge the different checks? He even had different credit cards for both tabs. He didn’t want to be bothered and said he is too busy running restaurants to deal with this. He offered nothing, he refused to credit my card the additional $ 75 from the other tab let alone offer an apology or appear concerned in any capacity. I was told if I didn’t like it then don’t come back he didn’t care or need my business… Obviously I will never step foot in Farfalla Trattoria again or any affiliated restaurant as well. This clearly ranks as the single worst example of a customer service failure of a restaurant it’s management and ownership to value and care about it’s patrons. He couldn’t care less which is pitiful. If this is the manner in which they handle consumer problems imagine for a moment how careless they run the rest of there restaurant business. Quality control, quality of ingredients, cleanliness, staffing etc. Truly sad.

My friend & I went in for lunch — highly disappointed with our rude waitress Nancy. Seemed to have an attitude as we sat down, tone was not friendly at all! When we ordered, my friend asked for penne pasta with her dish, I ordered it as stated on the menu. When the food arrived, both were penne pasta. We kindly said«we just wanted one with penne.» The waitress says«no you did not! You asked to have the same thing!» My friend says«no she said she wanted it the way it was made». The waitress says«well what do you want to do?» I just kept it. After that, we only saw her one more time, even more rude saying«are you done now» Food was good, location is very pretty, love the patio, but service can make or break an experience and I hate to say the service is something to be desired.

After finishing up a spa day, it was my sister’s turn to «yelp a place.» I’m always the one choosing places to eat, so it was like a day off for me. We came across Farfalla Trattoria in the Promenade at Westlake and didn’t think much of it from the outside. I kept my expectations at bay as I knew it was in a strip mall kinda place. Man, were we all pleasantly surprised. If you can, sit in their outside patio. If you’re lucky, there will be a nice breeze going. They also seem to be pet friendly too. Lunch started with some bread(could have been toasted, but it’s OK) with a nice vegetable spread. For our appetizer, we ordered the calamari which came in a huge sized portion. My mom and sister are picky eaters, and we cleaned that appetizer plate clean. The sauces it came with(marinara and horseradish) were absolutely delicious – nice and flavorful and not too salty. For entrees, I highly recommended the cioppino, angel hair pasta with shrimp and the fettuccine bolognese. I definitely don’t frequent the area much, but as I’m sitting here at work, I’m still thinking about the cioppino. What a generous portion too. If you’re ever shopping around the area and want to grab lunch or dinner, I’d definitely check this place out.

We came for lunch on Mothers Day expecting to wait as we had no reservations. I have to say I was very impressed. The Maitre D and staff on the desk were very polite and accommodating. We took a table in the bar area which was a little small for 4 adults but did the job and we were seated with no wait. The Lamb and Beef Bolognese was really good, sometime s a risk and there was a choice of Gnocchi or Fettuccini, it was really tasty and the pasta was almost perfect. Mrs O had Lobster Ravioli, awesome and the kids chicken pasta dishes. They were served up with Bellini’s, special for mother day. A great atmos, easy parking, polite pretty and attentive staff. It was our first time here, the bar is awesome so we’ll be back for a cocktail night. I recommend this place.

Pros: My wife ordered the Penne Norma. Apparently, if it has her mother’s name in it, she’s getting it. Fortunately, Norma was amazing! Penne pasta, baked eggplant and bufala mozzarella in a killer tomato and basil sauce.(Also fortunate she wasn’t named, Quinoa.) Being as I couldn’t read their menu(tiny letters, little light, getting old), I asked our waitress for a pasta with broccoli and chicken in an alfredo sauce. «We don’t have an alfredo sauce.» WTH? «BUTTT… the rigatoni di pollo e broccoli is pretty similar.» I’ll take it. It was awesome! It was like an alfredo sauce only lighter. Cons: When is a Caesar salad romaine and radicchio with a mustard and lemon dressing? Answer: never. Bottom line: Ridic pastas. We’ll be back.(Is there a corkage fee for Caesar salad?)
