Pretty solid bbq burger. Cooked perfect and lots of flavor. Place was pretty busy during lunch so you might wait A couple minutes for a seat. I will go back again.

Came across this place while driving to Santa Barbara off the 101N. Stopped in to try something new as In N Out is in the same lot. The California burger and Rootbeer float were amazing. The place had a modern look and was super clean. Customer service was great. Sad that there isn’t a Hook Burger in LA closer to where I hang out but if I ever see one I will definitely go again.

Decent burgers and fries/onion rings/sweet potato fries. Patties are a little lacking in awesomeness compared to the best of the native chains in the area, which is tough considering one shares the same parking lot… On its own it’s not bad, but they have so much competition, even at this type of fast-food-ish price point…

Yummy food in a bright setting. There is seating both indoors and outdoors. Ample outdoor parking in a shared parking lot. Friendly and attentive staff. It’s self service, so order at the counter, get a pager, and go pick up your food when it’s ready. I had the California burger and Oreo milkshake, and both were good and a gazillion calories. I liked how there was a massive chunk of avocado on my burger, and the bun was fresh and yummy. The two pickle slices that came on the side were crisp and tasty. While the burger was good, I wouldn’t say there was anything about it that totally blew me away. The Oreo milkshake was thick and decadent, with real cookie bits. I had it slathered with whipped cream on top and am still facing the aftermath of the 2-pound gain from a day of gorging. :P The shake was so thick that at times I had some difficulty sucking it up through the straw. But I really liked how I could crunch on the cookie bits. Yum. I also tried The Trio side(french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings). The fries were fine, but the onion rings were EXCELLENT. Massive and crisp and utterly delicious! Absolute perfection.

Why did I wait so long to eat here? Took the family for a casual dinner. We all had turkey burgers. Delicious. Service was great. Manager came out and was friendly. Best part. They serve Ladyface beer. Winner.

Fast, delicious, friendly. This was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I ordered the the California burger and fries. My buddy got the same with a chocolate milk shake. Everything was worth coming back!

Very pleasantly surprised. The burger was actually quite good! I ordered a double Prime Burger with Cheddar Cheese. The burger consists of a fresh bakery bun, caramelized bourbon onions(I asked for double onions), lettuce, tomato, honey dijon mayo with two beef patties and one slice of cheese. Why only one slice of cheese on a double burger? I have no idea. As a result, half a star deduction. My burger had the same quantity of onions as my friends burger, yet, I requested double onions. Minus another half a star. Service was great. Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking was a bit of an issue, as I decided to show up at 12:10 right as the lunch rush was starting. Once inside, the line moved very quickly. From order to burgers being ready was about 10 minutes… Again, not a problem as it was slammed. It is next to another VERY popular Southern California burger institution, and while Hook Burger is very good indeed… It will always be in that places shadow.

Good burger place in town to take the family. Decent quality and the burgers always are cooked to perfection. Suggest trying the trio plate for your frys and rings. The shakes also are a winner. No complaints. Solid 4 Stars…

Delicious! It is literally feet from another very popular burger place here in California… however I for the life. of me I cannot understand why anyone would go there over Hook burger. If you like a grilled burger, melted cheese, and fresh toppings this is the place for you.

I love the Hook Burger. This location in particular I find superior to other locations. I like to order the Maui burger without mayo and thin fries & sweet potato fries.(I normally don’t care for sweet potato fries but these I can’t stop eating!) Love coming here and conveniently located next to target.

I *love* this place. Everyone is always really nice and friendly and answer any and all questions you may have about the food. The restaurant is always super clean and the employees even swing by and gather the trash from the table once you’re done, if they see you’ve finished eating. I normally get the hickory burger(bacon, bbq sauce, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and onion straws) without lettuce, tomato, and mayo, and add Swiss cheese. The burger patty is thick and juicy and the ingredients are high quality. I would recommend this place to just about everyone.

Oh Hook Burger, how wonderfully delicious you are, and your employees are top notch. You keep it clean and everyone is so nice to you. I’ve had the pleasure of coming to this location several times, and I never leave disappointed, I alway have a smile on my face. The food is great, they always cook it to perfection and fast. Even when the place is packed, I never wait more than 10 – 15 minutes for my meal. The inside and outside areas are constantly kept really clean. Not an exaggeration, if I were to drop a French fry on the floor I would definitely pass the 5 second rule and go a full 10 seconds. The staff is so welcoming and always in a great mood, they are constantly smiling and oh so helpful. They also laugh at my jokes(I’m not terribly funny) I don’t like to pick favorites, but if I had to it would be Israel and Kelly. They especially like my jokes :).

Okay, so this is not a restaurant… This is dressed up fast food pure and simple. Everything they serve is frozen, reheated glop… With the possible exception of the buns which have a relatively fresh texture. They aren’t however enough to make up for the abysmal meat quality which is a sickly pale greyish mess. The meat is heavily salted to prevent you from tasting just how bad it is. The fries are greasy styrofoam. The dining area is small and noisy and finding a seat may mean wrestling with other patrons who circle and lurk like vultures. All this fast food experience for twice the price of fast food. Do yourself a favor, drive a block away and go to in-and-out instead. At least there the food was fresh this year. Oh, and they let dogs in the restaurant. Not service animals, just mutts. Someone call the health department.

This place is excellent. Friendly staff and great food. Not just burgers! Bistro salad with seared ahi rocks. Burgers are amazing. You can order rare and get a beer! Well priced. Could use more TVs in more locations through restaurant.

Hook Burger is a newer fast-casual burger concept that aims to strike a middle ground between fast-food burgers(like the In-N-Out a mere 50 feet away) and fancier offerings from gourmet burger places(like fancy burgers from fancy restaurants). Now, you may think to yourself, «That sounds kind of like The Habit and Shake Shack.» You wouldn’t be wrong, Hook Burger is definitely shooting for something quite similar, although I think they’re trying to be even a little step above The Habit, with their draft beer, wine, and better ingredients. And, of course, there’s a pillowy, shiny brioche bun, which has pretty much become the ONLY acceptable burger bed in the past few years. (As an aside, I’m beginning to think this whole segment of the burger market becoming saturated, at least in the LA area. Indeed, occupying some space between McDonald’s and Umami or whatever, we have The Habit, G Burger, The Counter, Burger Lounge, Juicy Burger, a bun-load of others, and in 2016 we’ll have a Shake Shack.) I ordered the Hickory Burger topped with cheddar, fried onion strings, BBQ sauce, bacon, and some shredded lettuce, with fries on the side. Total with water came to ~$ 10, so not bad on price. The bun and toppings were all great, but the burger meat itself was a little overcooked for my taste, as it wasn’t even pink at all in the center. If I had to guess, I’d call it about a medium-well. So, that was the only downside, but other than that it tasted great and was a generous portion. I actually thought that fries were really good. They were fresh from the fryer and served in a metal cone. Next time I’ll go for the onion rings, which look really good. Overall, Hook Burger is a solid option for familiar burgers, good toppings, sides, and even some beer or wine. However, it’s not exactly creative, nor was it a killer burger that’ll keep me coming back all the time.

No big deal. Sorry, but for $ 11.00 a burger, it should really taste amazing. This is the more expensive HABITBURGER. Except, you save 30% there. Great service, good food, nice place but still … No big deal burger.

Hook has been one of my new favorite local burger chains. with only 5 open so far,(i have been to 3.) and being from the founders of The Habit, I hope the last two represent better than the Westlake location did. I got OBSESSED with how juicy their burgers and sandwiches where during my first experience in the Pasadena location with confirmation at the Oxnard location. a lass, not this time. The burgers were super over cooked and I brought the family this time! We ordered 3 burgers, My daughter and I both got Hickory Burgers(6.50) Thick cut bacon, mayo and too much Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, my guess is it was an effort to cover up the well done meat. My daughter likes her meat med-well so she was good but I’m the one writing the review and I’m a Med rare guy +1 star and –1 star. The only saving grace was i mixed some ketchup and mayo to make 1000 island to moisten the leather. My wife got the Bistro Burger(6.95) with Roasted red pepper and onion, melted jack, avocado, lettuce, tomato, honey Dijon mayo I noticed it too had no pink, she confirmed it was over cooked and the avocado was a hard hunk of avo with the stem still on it and not ripe… it was removed. We washed these down with a couple of frosty Stone IPA’s My other daughter had the Bistro Club Sandwich(7.25) nice Char-grilled chicken breast, minus the bacon, melted cheddar, avocado, lettuce, tomato, honey dijon mayo, on grilled sourdough. This was the best thing at the table, and now that i think about it, that what I had the first time too. We also ordered The Trio($ 5.95) — Sweet Potato Fries, Fries, and Onion Rings The onion rings were the bomb, we ended up ordering another side of Onion Rings(3.25). the fries were meh, the sweet potato fries somewhere in between. Service was excellent as always, they do hired a great staff. If I was to return to one of the locations I have been to, It would not be this one. With all this and the second order of Onion Rings(3.25) 1-Caramel Latte Shake(4.75) and a second beer for me, we got out of here at around $ 70. We could have went to Islands for less $$

Hook Burger seems to be a good fit for a semi casual dining experience and perfect for the new Target shopping center. Hook Burger reminds me of a more modern and improved version of Fudruckers. Yes there are burgers on the menu but there are also a variety of salads and non-burger sandwiches. The menu caters to nearly everyone. Combine the multiple beers on tap as well as a variety of bottled brews and 4 large TVs, Hook Burger is a good place for adults looking for decently priced food/drinks while watching a big game. I was able to try the Hickory burger and the Prime burger for dinner. The ingredients used are good quality and seem quite fresh. The Hickory burger(chipotle mayo, BBQ sauce, cheese, onion strings) reminded me of a better quality/fresher tasting Carl’s Jr burger(which isn’t a bad thing really). The Prime burger was pretty straight forward as well, no surprises, no frills but a good tasting burger. One aspect of Hook Burger that really stands out was the excellent customer service. With the many patrons in the restaurant it seemed Hook was well staffed. The employees behind the counter were very pleasant and helpful. Hook was busy but when people were leaving their tables, the staff was right on top to clean them off for the new customers. Hook isn’t a full on sit-down restaurant but the service they provide make it feel like it is. With the Counter just around the corner Hook has a bit of compittion. Hook though provides good burgers with better value though. The menu is diverse enough to please almost everyone. Probably a good option for lunch for the local businesses as well. It appears this new burger place has it’s ‘hook“s in me. Looking forward to coming back in the future.

It’s above average and good, but I won’t be going back all the time. I was so excited to try a Hook, and it undelivered. The concept is good: A rustic burger joint, TV’s with sports, trendy burgers for under $ 7, and craft beers. 1. Pretzel Burger($ 6.50) — A nice and semi-soft pretzel bun, BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, chipotle mayo, and American cheese. Burger is a little thicker than the Habit, and same char’d flavor.(3.5 stars) 2. The Trio($ 5.95) — Sweet Potato Fries, Fries, and Onion Rings. Sweet Potato were delish(5.0 stars), the fries okay(4.0 stars), and pass on the O-Rings(2.5 stars). Specifically, the onions were cut very thick, the batter was also thick, and they had a day old taste — very strong flavor. A rebranded effort from the founder of The Habit, um, I’d rather have a Habit. High 3 star at best. My name is Randy, and I am a Burger-holic. Check out all my 100+ burger reviews at
