Been here many times. From the Albanian personalities to the food to the multiple venues, I really enjoy the whole ambiance.

I love the pizza here! I am told from friends from NYC it is like being home. I am never disappointed with the food here. There are two sides to this place. The dinning area is called La Scala’s and the take out area is called Joes. On the dinning side everything is excellent!!! Love the lasagna lunch special! Salad, bread, main course and drink for a very reasonable price. I like ordering the chicken Murphy over veggies for a low carb meal. They also have little bar in the back. Take out is great everything from meatball sandwiches. Very authentic Italian.

Not even close to New York pizza that I’ve ever had. Smoke comes from the bar and blows the whole vibe. I have to laugh when I read that in a review. This is probably convenient if you work out here for a lunch or something, but it’s not as cheap as it looks and certainly not as good as many of the pizza spots in the area a few exits down the road. I’m sorry I wasted my pizza calories here last week.

Food was average, I have had better Chicken Parmesan at Olive Garden. The service was so slow. Good came out at different time. One person at our table ordered pizza, she was done eating before other were served. The last person got her order finally and it was wrong. She had likely ask to have no mushrooms or black olives, when her meal arrived it had both mushrooms and black olives on it which she had to scrape off and the orange roughy was not orange roughy it was some type of other very fishy fish. The waiter went back to the back to I guess ask a manager who never bothered to come to our table. We had group of 11 women, Who I’m sure will never return.

Not sure what the people who gave 1 and 2 stars were thinking, but in my opinion this place is amazin! The owners are from Brooklyn and this is real, authentic and delicious Italian food. The pizza is real NY style and the pasta dishes are great. This has got to be one of the best Italian joints in Texas. If you stay at the Marriott, do yourself a favor and eat here. The bar is also a lot of fun and the staff is super friendly. They have a huge menu selection and I ate here 3 times while on buisness travel and every meal was great. You should definitely try the pizza if you are only going to eat here once.

I went here for a business lunch. The food itself was really tasty. The service was average. Our waitress was a little slow and seemed rather distracted. I had the baked ziti. The prices were pretty decent for the lunch menu. Based on the taste, I’d go back. Maybe the server was just having an off day.

Keep Away me and my two girls got Food Poisoning on Valentine’s Day. It was awful, there was something totally wrong with the food it didn’t taste right. Within hours my whole family was in the emergency room. Totally not worth it! 75% of my family got Food Poisoning! I have heard of other people getting sick at this place, my children were in the hospital for two more days than myself, we wrote a letter to the health department because we heard they are very dirty and apparently don’t follow sanitation laws. I wish I knew this ahead of time. The staff was really nice, except for the owner who had an attitude problem and was talking down to his employees, Anthony comes off like one of those wanna be tough guys… Not a good way to run a restaurant. Bottom line, Keep Away, food isn’t good at all!

So my husband works right here in this plaza, and I’ve been over to this area a dozen times. But I had never ventured into this little joint. So I figured I’d give it a go and see what the food was like. I dined in at 3 pm-it was desolate inside of there. I was the only customer on this day. They waited on me promptly and I placed my order. Instead of the pizza, which is clearly visible, I ordered off the menu. The pizza did not look that appealing, in my opinion. So I order the Lobster ravioli and garlic knots. The knots arrived first and looked delicious(as you can see from the picture I posted.) But I was disappointed, they weren’t soft. They were what I consider to be crunchy/hard. I dipped in the olive oil and still felt they were too«crunchy» for my personal taste. The garlic was there, in flavor form, but the texture really wasn’t up to par. So the ravioli arrived. It was covered in ooey gooey cheese. It, too, looked amazing. But yet again I was less than satisfied. It wasn’t that it tasted bad, it just didn’t taste great. It was merely okay. My belly wasn’t still hungry, but it also wasn’t satisfied. That’s never a good sign in my book. The ravioli was piping hot, so it did appear fresh. I was just really bummed about it. There were some tables that still had dirty dishes on them, but I don’t know how long the earlier guests had been gone. But what I can say, is that those dishes were still there when I left. I ended up cleaning my own table, it was sticky and had pieces of food still left on it. But one of the kitchen staff did have himself a nice big plate of food and found his way to the dining room to set and eat while I was there also. So for a first impression, not exactly the greatest. Unless I’m hard pressed for food, I highly doubt I’ll go back. Could it have been just«one of those days”-well yea, sure it could have been. But am I willing to take a chance on it again-NO!

Food is amazing but the kid who was the waiter/host was extremely rude. Waited 15 minutes for our tea then had to go get it from another employee. Once we moved to the casual dining room it was great. Management should rethink their staff or do some training.

It took 1 ½ hours for delivery. Pizza was not hot when delivered. The grilled chicken salad was OK. We never received dessert and called but had to convince them it really wasn’t delivered. «But I put it in a small container. Check again.» We didn’t get it. The pizza might have been good but how can one judge after the wait and a semi warm pizza? With many good Italian options in our area I would recommend trying another delivery service.

This place is a favorite of a few of my co-workers, and it does have the advantage of being VERY close to our office. The problem is, like many Italian joints, it’s a «carb-fest» from top to bottom. Sometimes, a place will offer the classic«peppers and sausage» dish, but La Scala does not offer such a dish. After weighing my options and discussing with one of said co-workers, we hit upon what turned out to be a great compromise: I purchased some Dreamfields pasta(short version: it helps blood sugar control by not«hitting» all at once like regular pasta; Google them for more info) and brought it with me. My co-worker spoke to the staff(he’s very well known there) and they agreed to cook my pasta and use it in my dish. I’ve since repeated this a couple of times. So, now I can get the chicken piccata without fear, have some cacciatore without guilt and in general, enjoy a meal here. They do have very good food(the garlic knots are awesome but yeah, they’re a carb-fest :)) and it’s a friendly, down-to-earth place where you won’t find people with their noses in the air. Plus, you can get some great pizza from their«Siamese twin». Joe’s. If you’re like me and are watching your blood sugar, take some Dreamfields pasta with you and they’ll cook it up for you with a smile. That’s definitely a good thing.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I started going there a few months ago and was treated like I’ve even there for years and was apart of the family. Coming from a huge Italian/greek family, it has the same vibe as my family reunions. Think the Brooklyn version of the Cheers bar! The Italian is by far the best in the area and same goes for their prices. After only a few visits, I am now welcomed by name. Both of the owners are brothers. This is the type place you can go in without a friend with you, sit down and get lost in convos. With someone else in the place over a slice, chicken parm. Or a drink. Definitely recommend this place, for lunch, dinner or just drinks.

Great food but the delivery guy smokes heavily in his car while out for deliveries and food has tasted like smoke before…

The Italian version of Perkins. If you know what good Italian food, or even know what mediocre Italian food tastes like you will be disappointed. It is quite cheap, and for very good reason…

Ok I live in San Francisco so, due to the availability of wonderful restaurants, I may be snooty. Nevertheless, this place is awful. The hostess/waitress was nice and tried, but the food — I had the mushroom soup and lobster ravioli — was dull. The wine was stale. Unfortunately, other than the service, I have nothing positive to say.

Ate on the«joe’s» side. Awful. Terrible service. Might as well just drive 2 more exits and eat at the one in Southlake. Big Joe’s in Haslett is by far the best of all.

This is the best pizza in the DFW area. It’s New York style pizza and a New York style atmosphere. I have been coming here for years and always get the same thing. Stromboli with a slice of their special pizza. I keep telling myself that I should only get one or the other, but they are both so good that I cannot help it. They might as well call it the Sang special. One of these days I am gonna have to try something different. And the wait’s not long at all. I usually get my food within 10 minutes of ordering. The people there are pretty friendly. Just don’t tell them that you are a Boston Red Sox fan :)

I went to La Scala for nice little holiday dinner with some old colleagues I hadn’t seen in a while. The place is being remodeled, so some things are a little out of place, but I still thought it to be a cozy little establishment. I guess during the day, they serve up pizza, but considering I don’t know much about Roanoke restaurants, I’m not familiar with their pizza. The girl that greeted us was nice and very forthright — which could easily be taken as rude, as mentioned by another reviewer, but her service was prompt and I liked her personality. She wasn’t fake. We had a large group, considering it was a holiday dinner, and they took very good care of us. The appetizers here are delicious. We had calamari and stuffed mushrooms. Granted the calamari wasn’t anything more spectacular than other places, the stuffed mushrooms were amazing! I have to say it was the sauce they were drenched in. I don’t know what it was but after the mushrooms were gone, I was a lush about dipping the bread into this sauce. By the time our entrees came out, I was full of bread and delicious sauce. My friend and I ordered food to share — she got the Murphy Chicken and I got the Veal Saltimbocca. I didn’t get to really taste the chicken, but my veal had been pounded thin, wrapped in prosciutto, breaded and fried real nice. It was then covered in provolone cheese and sat atop a delicious spinach broth/gravy. It was spectacular! So I have two words of advice when you go here: 1. Don’t take the things the wait staff says to you to heart. If you’re sensitive, then go eat somewhere else. 2. Make a stretch and order something besides pizza.

The staff at this establishment are extremely rude. Their pizza sits out all day. The cheese turns watery and the crust becomes soggy. I would give zero stars if I could.
