My sister, I and my 2 boys were shopping at Crocker Park two and half weeks ago, we went to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to buy some candies. After buying 2 lollipops for my two boys, we were unable to leave the store due to sudden heavy downpour. As we were waiting for the rain to stop we noticed a female employee offered free sample to a Caucasian couple with a grandchild. Soon afterward there were two young Caucasian girls walked in, they too being offered the free sample. We were there all the time and we were not being offered at all. I am Asian, the first thing crossed my mind was discrimination. I love the caramel chocolate that they made. I buy from this company during Valentine’s day, Father’s Day and some other occasions. Sampling usually get customer to try and hope that customer come back for more. In my impression this employee pick and choose her customers. I will not go back to buy from this company even though I like its products.

Caramel apples, caramel apples, caramel apples — Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory just has SO many to choose from. They come in traditional(plain or with peanuts) and a bunch of dipped varieties that include delicious candies like Butterfinger, M&M’s, english toffee, etc. and other nut varieties(like pecan). Sometimes I think the extra toppings get a little overwhelming, don’t get me wrong — they’re delish — but my go-to is usually just the plain. Simple and delicious. RMCF offers so many other dreamy chocolately options — including dipped marshmallows(with sprinkles! — it brings out my inner child, what can I say?), caramel pretzel bark(this is divine, you MUST try it), coconut stacks, dipped Oreos, chocolate covered pretzels, you name your favorite chocolate confection & they probably have it. The staff is always friendly and helpful and I love that you get to see them in chocolate dipping action from time to time since it’s all out in the open. It’s definitely on the pricey side — but if you don’t go over board you can get outta there without dropping your entire weekly allowance. I promise.

guess what? there are excellent sugar free chocolate items here! i fight the urge to buy the entire store but as long as they make some sugar free things that can compete, i will be happy.

Yummm! I’ve got a soft spot for the Butterfinger Caramel Apple. and by soft spot I mean I can’t walk by the store without buying one. It’s very cute inside, you can watch the workers as they make a number of the items inside the store. I would highly recommend the caramel apples, I haven’t had a bad one!

I really enjoyed this chocolate shop. The young woman behind the counter was really nice and provided suggestions. I tried the peanut butter cup, a macadamia brittle-thingy, a chocolate-covered oreo, and some chocolate-covered pretzels. All were great. It’s not as charming as Malley’s or as boutique as Lilly’s, but it is a good alternative while in Crocker Park.

After a «healthy» lunch at Liquid Planet, I was craving something sweet. I walked into Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in hopes that there *might* be cupcakes. Sadly, there were no cupcakes to be found. But they did have ice cream! I think I’ve been hanging out with Jeff W too much because this whole frozen-dairy-after-a-meal-trend is seriously rubbing off on me. A single scoop(+½) of the chocolate chip cookie dough set me back ~$ 3, was more than enough to fill me up and left me with a contented smile on my face. Their other chocolate goodies are worth buying too — I bought some chocolate covered graham crackers for my friends to thank them for hosting me. Annie also eyed up the chocolate covered bananas, but I refused to buy something banana. She can get one herself next time.(And yes, I’m sure there will be a next time.)
