I went here because of the good reviews. I ordered take-out chicken teriyaki bento boxes and a chicken teriyaki bowl. Our order was wrong and I wasn’t about to go back. The chicken didn’t look cooked enough… I wanted to see grill marks or soooome indication that it was cooked, but it was stark white and bland tasting. The salad dressing tasted like Catalina that was too sweet with an ever so slight hint of ginger… it wasn’t the traditional ginger sesame dressing that I was hoping for. I will try this place one more time and hope for the best.

Came here after hiking in Boulder and I was starving. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The food is relatively Americanized but is very good! I ordered steak with the hot stone and fried rice. The food in itself was delicious and the hot stone concept was creative. We also got a spicy tuna roll which was alright. The inside décor was cute as well. Overall, I think it would be great for a date night if you’re in the area.

Food is great but not worth the wait for 45 minute and when we asked our server STEPHEN. HELITERALLYHASTHEWORSTATTITUDE. «Your food will come when the cheft makes it» is not the right way to answer a first time customer and trust me it will our be our last. STEPHEN not even once time come by and asking how we are doing. As a server myselft it was really disappointed all I can do is tips and walk away while my girlfriend and family not happy. You cannot eat with a upset feeling. Hana Matsuri please check your servers. Thank you

Probably best fish in Denver area. Everything is always fresh and delicious. We order takeout for work often and sometimes eat there. They are always pleasant and have great recommendations. I HIGHLY recommend Hana Matsuri for your next sushi outing!

Fantastic food & service team. A+ experience tonight. I will definitely return. $ 7 for $ 15 on Unilocal made it an even better value.

It’s been a year since I have been to Hana Matsuri and this experience was better than the first time. I don’t hand out five stars easy but this place earned every one. The service is great fast friendly and the servers are very knowledgable about the menu and make helpful recommendations. The sushi is as good as can be expected in fact much better than locations I’ve had near the coast. The restaurant is clean including the bathroom. I will be back.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. For lunch. Their dinner leaves a lot to be desired. Their dinner has few Japanese dishes(most have a Japanese ingredient or two), and is rather overpriced. Of course, if sushi is what you’re after, lunch or dinner — it’s always outstanding. Lunch has an array of bento and Japanese dishes. I always go for the teriyaki beef. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. Seems like the delivery truck is there almost every time we go, so they must deliver frequently. In Broomfield, I don’t think it gets any better than Hana Matsuri for Japanese food.

Great sushi! So far the best sushi I have found in Denver! Two dollar beers also, hard to find a better place! Try the spicy edamame ;)

Even their ginger is delicious. Seated quickly, service was excellent. Our food was out incredibly fast. Alaskan roll and seared tuna were my favorite rolls here.

We are regulars here. We travel a lot. Come during lunch to get dinner portions for lunch prices. The servers and manager take very good care of the clientele. We have tried other sushi establishments and always return here. My wife always gets sashimi and says there’s is always fresh and never disappoints. It is safe to say– Best in Denver. Don’t hesitate to spend your hard earned money at Hana Matsuri.

Yummmm the chirashi bowl is so amazing here and plentiful. I also really love the yellowtail with jalapeño. They have great sake choices too. This is more expensive than many sushi joints in the area but it is also the best.

It’s a little pricy, but it’s by far the best sushi I’ve ever had. I love the Mexican roll and the matsuri roll the best. Definitely check in and get the 10% off. The staff is always really nice and the service is fast! They give you the hot hand towels before your meal which I love.

Grabbing sushi on the mainland is always an adventure. And the further away you get from the coast the greater the adventure becomes. This was definitely the case tonight as Cliff, Marti, and I made our way out to try«the best sushi in the area». It was a chilly night in Denver, which is nice because you get to really bundle up, and this night had me bundled up in a lot of nice stretchy fat man gym clothes. Cold weather is also good for eating because it wards off the dreaded, fat man sweats. Needless to say, the conditions were perfect to polish off a lot of sushi. As we approached the restaurant I noticed the sign and it’s name smacked of native Japan. Unfortunately, it was a red herring because upon entry I could tell by the accents used to welcome us with«irashyamase» that they were either speech impaired, or definitely not from Japan. This normally sets off a bit of a red flag, and has my filter hat engaged. Cliff and Marti were very excited to have me try the sushi. What they didn’t realize: I was putting our waitress to the test when she came for our drink order. I just had to make absolutely sure that I wasn’t coming off as ungrateful or overly critical, so what did I do? After everyone put their drink order in, I ordered an «ocha» which is Japanese for hot tea. My Chinese accented waitress said«yeah yeah, Michelob ultra.» alert alert OCHANOTULTRA! When it came to ordering, I tried some various Nigiri, and when my sushi finally arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find the fish oily and shiny like fresh fish should look and smelling delicious. Sure enough the fish quality was excellent and melted in my mouth. It’s extremely unfortunate that I need to deduct two stars as they screwed up the most important part of sushi, the rice. It seems like every other asian on the planet, outside of Japanese and sometimes Koreans that own sushi bars, under-cook the rice so that it’s crunchy a little on the inside which is disgusting, or they leave it in a warmer over-cooking it and it’s mushy and not El dente. The crunchy fail was true here. My ask of the management is to please put a special three-month emphasis on teaching your cooks how to prepare sushi rice. If you all get that correct, you’re looking at a much higher rating. But based on the fish quality, i’ll definitely be back to give it another shot. It is my sincere hope, that you will be the first non-Japanese sushi restaurant to live up to my probably overly critical standards. Good luck folks!

Best sushi… beats sushi den any time! I feel blessed we live five minutes away. We eat here about once per week and have yet to find a place that beats this! Try yellowtail with jalapeño and any roll ordered will be amazing… finish off with hot green tea and call it a day:)

Had an amazing dinner tonight! Our server Stephen was fabulous, and made our experience even better. He’s so helpful and personable, that he makes it comfortable. The spicy Bincho role is to die for, and recommended by Stephen to add cream cheese for next time. We will be ordering the Bincho with cream cheese and Stephen as our server… priceless! Saw the best tat tonight of his son’s handprint… cool stuff! Chef was great and enjoying his job. Recommended to hang out at the sushi bar, great experience! Front staff is always amazing! Jax is a great host! Thanks Hana Matsuri! See you soon!

I was recommended this place by a colleague who says it’s their favorite sushi spot. I now do not trust them on food advice. The place is alright, presentation is pretty elementary but the quality of the fish was pretty good. I was surprised to see they actually had awesome fatty tuna, like, legit.

I had the chicken Katsu lightly breaded chicken that was tender and full of flavor. This entrée came with rice and soup chicken also had a small salad with a tart dressing. The soup was good first bite then seperated as it sat you had to stir to make it look good. The rice was typical tender white rice. The ambience was great and colorful. Minus the soup food was great.

At this place I had the Pork Katsu, which is a thin breaded pork tenderloin with a small salad, soup and small bowl of white rice. The«soup» looked and tasted like dirty dishwater and was only edible when it first arrived at your table. if you allowed it to cool, the taste went from bad to horrible. The breaded tenderloin resembled that of a piece of cardboard, as is was dry, bland and very thin. The salad was OK, the dressing was spicy and the rice was OK also. When you check in through the Unilocal app you get a 10% discount which is nice but really doesn’t compensate for a bad meal.

BirthDAYs always seem to turn into BirthWEEKs and last night the celebration continued here. I wanted to bump this restaurant up to 5 stars after this experience because it was all around fantastic! Between two of us we enjoyed the following three rolls: Twister Roll– This is the«staff’s favorite» and has tempura fried lobster tail, crab mix, and avocado. This, to me, was good but nothing special. It fell to the back after having the other two rolls. Mango Roll– Mango on sushi rolls is one of my favorites, so this was an easy choice. Their spicy tuna was excellent. Lava Roll– STOPDROP and LISTEN! This was one of the best rolls I have had in my life. You start with a California roll and then it gets SMOTHERED with yummy sushi goodness. «Yummy sushi goodness» consists of: button mushrooms and a seafood mixture sautéed and broiled in dynamite sauce. This was so fun to eat, and sooooo good, but be warned because it is pretty heavy. Definitely split it with someone! This place really should consider expanding. It is some of the best food around and our waiter(the bald man. sorry no name) was so great as well. It was an early Monday evening and the place was packed! If they opened a location downtown, they could give Hapa a run for their monday. TIP: check for a groupon, or check into Unilocal for 10% off

The are very few sushi places that are good north of Denver and Hanna Matsuri is one of them. I have gone to this place many times. Sushi here is great. Service, however, is a hit or miss. There are times where I have gotten exceptional service(waiters are friendly and fun) and other times where you are trying to hunt down your waiter. The place itself is very classy and modern. There are a few high top seatings, bar seatings and regular seatings. There is also an open fireplace. I have been here before when they had live music playing in front of the fireplace. It was quite romantic, but awkward because I was with a few girlfriends. Again, sushi here is great. Everything is tasteful and fresh. My all time favorite sushi dish no matter where I go is hamachi(yellowtail) with jalapeño. Yes, I do judge a place on how good their hamachi dish is and Hana Matsuri has one of the best. It is nicely sliced and it has all the right flavors. The value for the food quality is very good here. Definitely check out this place if you are up north and looking for a good sushi.
