Not only was the food overpriced but it was overcooked. We ordered what was the East Coast platter and there was one fish stick, I crab Cake that tasted like an over season piece of shit, 3 pieces of shrimp that were suppose to be stuffed and wrapped in bacon. But the bacon was just covering up the bland taste of freezer shrimp. It was the worst!

We went here for my dad’s birthday as we do every year. The waitress we had was very nice and she had a great sense of humor. But that was about the only good thing about this visit. The food is pretty bad. The crab is okay but everything else tasted old and was cold. Hush puppies, fries, fish, just everything. It just was not worth it this time around. When I say worth it I mean pay a little over $ 300 for six adults and three kids.

Wow… just wow. Anyone who has been giving this place more than two stars either works here or had way too much to drink. Four of us went and were seated right away, the waitress was very cold and had zero personality. I totally understand bad days so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. The food however was inexcusable. My wife had the double shrimp which had fried and coconut shrimp. I would say the coconut shrimp were on par with Red Lobster and were very good, However the fried shrimp were limp apparently microwaved and terrible. Fries were mediocre at best. Another of our party had the cedar plank salmon and it was below grade likely microwaved as well. The crayfish Steampot was New Orleans style so we expected cajun or blackened… even straight cajun spice and all we got was what seemed like a bottle of Tabasco poured on the crayfish, not good heat and not good eats. When we mentioned to the server that the steampot was out of control spicy(and the person eating it LOVEs spicy food) she rolled her eyes and said yeah… oh well. I had the crabcake dinner and what a mistake, I have had great and good crabcakes all over the US, but never anything this soggy, microwaved and salty. It was like eating a soggy crab sandwich with salt poured all over it, what a waste of time. I have no problem heading a grassroots movement to warn others of this place and their terrible food. If they don’t start making reparations to their locals and get some people in the kitchen that can cook their food, I cant see how they can keep their doors open. I would say the only positive thing about this place would be the drinks. They were good.

Wish I had looked at previous reviews before deciding on New Year’s Eve here. We handled the long wait at the bar. Our first clue to the quality of this place should’ve been how disgusting it was behind the bar– dirty fridges and counters– a nasty sight. We would’ve normally eaten at the bar at other restaurants, but didn’t want to look at their mess during dinner. Bought our drinks and left to wait elsewhere. After waiting an hour for a table, we order an app and two entrees. The appetizer came out and the food was sub par at best, but we ate because we were super hungry, hoping for the best. Out come our meals, $ 30.00 a piece, cold. The lobster was rubbery and weirdly disintegrating– it must’ve been sitting under their heat lamps for god knows how long waiting to be run to our table. I tell our server about the cold grub, she doesn’t offer any resolution. After an awkward silence, SHESAYSSHEWILLTAKEITBACKANDMICROWAVEIT. My $ 30 lobster dinner, are you kidding me? I allow her to take the plate, unable to speak, as I’m stunned. I try eating a bite when it returns– still hungry. The disgusting lobster is even more unpalatable after being nuked(duh). We get our check, no discount, nothing, even though we clearly didn’t eat hardly any of our $ 75 bill. Guess we should’ve asked for a manager and complained, but we don’t like being those people. Worst experience at a restaurant ever. Literally ever. Avoid at all costs.

Love the Steampots!!! Just doesn’t get any better! We always used to turn towards Red Lobster for our seafood fix. We always were disappointed. Then Steampots at Joe’s came into our lives… won’t step into a RL ever again. We go to this Joe’s quite a bit. The atmosphere is great! Obviously it depends on the day, but service is usually decent. Last night we had a family night at Joe’s to celebrate our son coming home for the holidays after being away in the Navy for 2 years! Our waitress was phenomenal! Food as always was top notch! Our waitress had my son pick out a free appetizer and then gave us a military discount… She customized our bibs and even took a family picture of us getting our crabs on! I noticed a sign for all you can eat $ 15.99 snow crab Wednesday! I am so coming back for that!

If I could provide zero stars for this review then I would. I base my opinion primarily on the poor service I received from the bar person«Andrew». How this young man has a job in customer service defies all logic. I overheard two other conversations from fellow patrons regarding his lack of customer service too. If you like to wait, wait, wait for your food and then look at dirty dishes for 20 minutes then this is the place for you. It would have been quicker for me to cook my own dinner here, serve my own drinks and wash the dishes myself. I usually am a frequent patron at Joe’s on my travels by I will pass by this location in future.

I guess you get why you get when your this far from the sea! I ordered the Lump crab cakes. My guess … NOT Lump crabmeat. I would say they are made with back fin crabmeat. No seasoning in the crab but I’m originally from Maryland so I have high expectations. Quite a bit of breading and the sauce made the crab cakes. ~sigh Their Cole slaw was very good and decent fries. My husband ordered the crab bake. Not sure which one but it had a few different kinds of crab legs, shrimp, and a sausage. He couldn’t eat the sausage because it was smoked and sitting in the juices so it became very salty. Overall I guess it was decent. We are in Colorado so seafood is hard to come by. I will say I almost stopped in H Mart when we left to buy lump crab and make my own crab cakes. But I digress.

Me and my brother in law came here today for a quick lunch. It was pleasant but a little bit off kilter I ordered the crispy catch it included hand battered fish fillet Butterfield fried shrimp stuffed with crab cream cheese and jalapenos and crispy calamari it was served with French fries and coleslaw. My calamari wasn’t quite cleaned enough and it had kind of a little bit of a film on there so is was kind of a little bit odd so I didn’t eat the last two pieces .My brother-in-law ordered the fish and chips he said it was thumbs up. We also ordered Red Stripe beer in it was absolutely scrumdidlyumptious.

I’ve read a lot of bad reviews on here, but I honestly(and luckily) didn’t have any of these bad experiences. I had the jumbo coconut shrimp and it was delicious! I had the Mardi Gras«extreme» drink and it was really great too. My boyfriend had the dinner platter and I tasted everything. The crab cake was alright, a little mushy. The crab was pretty good, but nothing special. But the bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp was amazing! The service was pretty good too, no complaints on that end. The store was clean and had a fun atmosphere. The price was pretty steep though. I would definitely go back again soon!

Very disappointing. I usually eat vegetarian, but had a craving for shrimp. Joe’s was advertising a shrimp special(33 shrimp for 11.99), so my husband and I thought we’d order the special for take-out(our toddler doesn’t allow us to eat in public very often). After getting home, the order looked slim so we counted our shrimp: 27 shrimp. After calling and speaking to a manager, she told me that it’s based on weight, not a number. False advertising, plain and simple. Also, poor customer service. The manager offered to give me the few extra shrimp if I drove back to the restaurant. I just wanted a refund, disappointing. This is exactly why I hate chain restaurants…

Had dinner there last night & the sampler app. Everything was great. Shark bite drink is always a tradition when we go… its 2 drinks in 1(size wise). Fun atmosphere friendly staff

The Motel 6 of seafood restaurants. Service is good, but beyond that the food is just not good.

Hated the experience! It took over 25 minutes to get the order drinks. Another 35 to get our meal served. Never came back to refill our drinks and waited another 15 min to get the check! Felt like walking out of there and see if the would notice us gone. Meal was average. Nothing special

I came in on Tuesday for a birthday lunch. I didn’t really announce it because I saw the celebration wall and I hate public displays like that. It was my first time there and Felipe was awesome and explained the concept of the restaurant and helped us pick a delicious $ 2 drink. He sensed a semi-somber moment and delicately moved around us and didn’t make me act like a fool for my birthday. Thank you! The food was good, but my steam pot had not been handled well in prep. Most of the clams had broken shells and I kept biting into shells. On top of that most of the clams we’re pretty gritty and sandy. I probably won’t order them again. I didn’t say anything at the time as I was already very full from all of the delicious crab and lobster claws.

Every time I have come here I have thoroughly enjoyed myself! Ever since high school it has been one of my favorite places to go to and I have never been disappointed. I love coming to enjoy a sea food meal with my family. While during the day it’s a bit slow in festive environments, the night time setting is much better. I enjoyed birthdays here they are funny and a bit embarrassing! While I don’t see the staff dancing as often as they have in the past I still enjoy the fun atmosphere. This food is not East Coast quality but the fresh steam pots have a great variety and spice that can match any East Coast seafood. However, the prices here in Colorado are significantly higher than prices in the East Coast for seafood. That’s a shame since I love seafood and I would love to come here often but the prices are pretty high. The crab is great with the Old Coast or Cajun seasonings. The fried foods are never something I prefer so I don’t recommend any fried dish, since the steam pots are really great. Like I said I have never had a bad experience here. I have never had bad service and if ever I wanted a more hoppy atmosphere I would go on a weekend evening, over day time hours so I wouldn’t be disappointed. The food has always been the same to me so I enjoy it.

I just want to warn the consumer– Don’t waste your time or money. Their customer service is horrendous. Took forever to get seated and took another 15 min just to get water. Other tables were waiting on water also, yet there were about 6 awkward teenage servers walking around looking lost. Signed up for email program and got a free appetizer but it never came through on my email so the waitress ok’d it with her manager to honor it… Which was cool. Took awhile to get our food. We ordered the joes steam pot for 2 and when it came out it had a total of 2 crab clusters in there, minimal corn and potatoes and about 8 shrimp for $ 42. I immediately called the server back over to ask him wth was this? 2 crab clusters and 8 shrimp?!? He apologized and said there should be 10 shrimp and asked if I wanted him to bring out the 2 shrimp. I was appalled and completely offended. WTH am I going to do with 2 shrimp and did he really just ask me that?!? I hate to be one of those people who complain but this was completely justifiable. I was already steaming on the inside from the service beforehand and asked to talk to the manager. Manager came out and asked what the problem was and how could he make it right but from the tone of his voice he was really annoyed, so we just told him to take the food back and give us our check. We ended up paying for our«free appetizer» and left with a bad taste in our mouths. Whole family left hungry. It was just one of those place that you shoulda known better when you got that feeling when you first walked in the door. WILLNEVERWASTEMYTIMEORMONEYTHEREAGAIN. Joe’s Crab Shack blows big time.

We can in with a party of 9 and called 20 minutes prior and they said it should not be a problem. Upon arrival we had the worse welcome telling us we have to wait 25 minutes in a ver NON-CUSTOMERSERVICE way. Thanks to Eli — he changed our experience. If you come here ask to sit in ELI’S section. It would have been 5-stsrs if it was not for the rude welcoming.

We used to eat here before we moved and liked it a lot. The server seemed much too busy to take our order and blamed me when she brought the wrong drink. We didn’t get silverware until the food runner brought our app(sampler), which came with a revolting sauce & horribly chewy calamari. The rest of it was alright. Anytime the server came by, she’d practically throw whatever she was bringing onto the table and run away again. The seafood in the entrée was good, but I think they ought to rename the dirty rice«mud rice» in addition to literally tasting of dirt, it was incredibly mushy. Dis-gust-ting. The exterior of the hushpuppies were burned and the interior gummy, served with limp, cold fries. To sum up, this is what I wrote on the back of the receipt: «We’re sorry to have inconvenienced you by choosing to eat here. It won’t happen again.»

Visited for my birthday, because I love crab. I’ve been here before and it was ok, now I will never return. In all dinner took 3 hours. 45 minutes to be seated(ok, we expected a wait) but 2 hours and 15 minutes to get our food no eat what little we ate. Our food was supposedly served to another table and we had to wait for it to be prepared again. When we did get it my steampot was cold, the mussels overcooked, and the scallops undercooked(honestly not sure if they were cooked at all). My husbands food was warm but gross, they added some sauce that was so sickly sweet it made us gag. We got the wrong sides served to us and had to wait … Again… For the right ones. And, just to make it all better… When our bill was processed through our bank they charged us more than authorized. My husband tipped in cash and zeroed out the tip area, and we have the receipt so we are positive what the bill should be. The manager is supposedly looking into it. My first attempt to email corporate got a bad email address(straight from the website) and my second hasn’t been responded to yet. All in all we paid over $ 100(including our babysitter, gas, bill, tip, and unauthorized extra charge) to have a bad dinner on my birthday. Yea, I don’t recommend going.

A swing and a miss. I’m not getting the concept of Joe’s here. Everything sounds delicious, but just like a spring day in England… it arrives cold, limp and dreary. There’s only one thing worse than being served cold lobster, crab and muscles. And that’s being served lot’s of it. You work hard to «get crackin’» using their proprietary claw busters and shell rippers, hell was I trying to eat a meal or flip a house? Don’t get me wrong, the ribs were great, but that’s sorta the point. I don’t want to go to a seafood place and order cow. I’m just thankful it wasn’t my birthday and someone posted a silly video of me singing Tiny Bubbles with a snorkel.
