There hasn’t been a pastry that I have tasted that has disappointment me. They have all been delicious! The prices are extremely reasonable, whether you are ordering food or pastries.

Love this place as always. Its my favorite go to when I’m craving fruit tarts or when its someones birthday in the spring or summer because all i want to eat is fruit so i can prepare for that summer bikini body! But honestly they have one of the best fruit tarts in town. Its not that sweet besides the fruit and the service is always very fast and amazing. Love this place!

My sister bought a fruit tart from here for her son’s birthday party over the weekend and I really love these types of desserts, so I couldn’t wait for the«cake» to be cut. The fruits were nicely glazed and puff pastry had a nice crunchy texture. It wasn’t too sweet and really delicious! There wasn’t any left!

I just had to try the beef stew that everyone raves about. It was good, but it wasn’t THAT special. Beyond the taste, it should be served in a bowl, not a plate. The sauce is the best part and by serving it on a plate, there’s just not enough sauce. Also, bc of the shallow plate, the stew doesn’t stay hot for very long. Minus 1 star for charging us $ 2.25 for 3 cups of water [in styrofoam cups]! I would understand if it was bottled water, but please… it was tap!

Im not sure what i expected but surely more on all points of this place. Total local joint… I got«schooled» right off the bat for not telling them i wanted to eat in not take out. Mamasan gave me attitude when we dropped off my stew plate saying«next time say eat here» … Uh ok. –had the beef stew. Went in on my 1st bite with an open mind. Very soupy seems like they should give a spoon for this bad boy rather than a fork? Soup… A Nice kick, meat is definitely tough. And tons of gristle. Maybe 3 carrots and fresh cilantro. Fresh lim and some side of salt and pepper. –bread. Medium french baguette… delish(crunchy outside light on the inside) that honestly accounted for 1 star itself or else it would have been a 2 star for me. Thai iced tea. Yum. Strong. Under 3.00. Also got their baked goods to try: –chocolate croissant –apple pie –palm leaf All were mushy not flakey like i expect the Vietnamese baking items to be being a heavy french influence. Bummer. Will i be back? Probably not. Didn’t do much for me.

Some people say that they have the best beef stew and fruit tart in Westminster. For the price, the beef stew is awesome. Great taste. The bread is also awesome. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside(so tough to find good bread). The problem is that the meat is tough so what you pay for is what you get. Café su da is also really, really good.

Excellent Bo Kho(Vietnamese style beef stew) and very good fruit tarts, perhaps some of the freshest in Little Saigon. Bo Kho is easily one of my favorite Vietnamese comfort foods, few can match their version of the beef stew. It is very aromatic, the beef used is usually tender and the portions are plentiful. Moreover, it comes with a fresh hot-out-of-the-oven French baguette that you dip in the sauce and eat. Lastly, it is topped with freshly sliced jalapeño pepper, onions and cilantro. The lingering taste and scent of lemongrass, ginger, cinnamon and other spices really distinguishes the bo kho from other, more subtlety seasoned variations. Le Croissant Dore has perfected the bo kho, $ 7.75, which is reasonably priced, very flavorful, rich in texture and the tenderness of the beef is unlike any other. They are just as well known for their famous fruit tart, which lived up to its reputation as well. The fruit combination included pear, strawberries, kiwi, Mandarin oranges, red grapes and peach. The fruits were fresh and plump, the crust was flaky, not overly sweetened or had a heavy-laden syrup. I just enjoyed a slice. A whole fruit tart is very decorative and ranges in price depending on the size. They start off at $ 26, which feds six to eight people. The largest one they make is $ 75 and can fed up to forty people! The real notch against them is their less-than-friendly service at the counter. Their hours everyday are from 7:30am to 7pm. They begin cleaning up promptly at 6:30pm and will allow for some dishes, that have already been prepared, to be ordered to-go after that time. I arrived after 6:20pm upon my two visits here and felt rushed to order. The young lady was rather quick with her responses and, dare I say, impatient with me both times. She made it clear that all orders had to be to-go. Begrudgingly, I did enjoy the bo kho and my fruit tart. I, therefore, may come again on a weekend and at an earlier time that will be a more convenient hour for everyone, including myself.

I love the Bo Kho here, which is the beef stew. The meat is cooked well in that it is nice and tender, and has a great flavor with all the spices and flavors that go into the stew. The ingredients of the stew have a nice hearty taste, that had a small touch of sour, possibly from the added like, that when put together taste really good. I believe they charge 75 cents for water, so I went ahead and ordered the iced tea instead because I think that was like $ 1. The restaurant is somehow linked to the Taiko Udon place, so you can order food from here while being seated in the Taiko Udon place.

This place has the best beef stew(bo kho) I’ve ever tried. We ordered a beef stew with baguette and one with rice noodles. Both were amazing! The stew was unbelievably flavorful. The beef was tender. The baguette was light as air, perfect for sponging up the delicious stew. The rice noodles had the perfect texture. We also ordered some croissants, which were decent, but not as outstanding as the beef stew. The almond croissant was better than the plain one. If I only tried the croissants this would not be a five-star review, but I really thought the beef stew was«as good as it gets»! So go here and get the beef stew! We seemed to be the only non-Vietnamese diners there, which added to the authentic feel of the place.

I’ve been coming here since my teens enjoying their coffee and Banh Mi Bo Kho. One of the very first Vietnamese coffee shops in Little Saigon ran by the owner and his family. I know that it has changed hands and I’m not familiar with the owners but it seems they’re doing something right as the place is still busy. It’s more family friendly as compared to the 80s. More food selection which I’ve not tried since I only have the 2 items stated above. It’s the typical Vietnamese coffee shop atmosphere with old geezers chatting with friends and reminiscing.

Bakery and restaurant. Only came here cause my mom’s friend took my parents and i here. It was very busy when we came here. Small place. I guess is known for bo kho known as beef stew but i decided to get something else. I got the #11…banh canh gio heo(udon with pork meat soup) for $ 6.95. Even though it seems cheap but i think its kinda pricy for a really small bowl of noodle soup. This bowl consists 1 pork bone meat and maybe about 7 slices or more of pork meat, and 1 quail egg. They don’t give you that much noodle. The soup/broth itself was average. Nothing really special about it. Theres a section where you can see someone making the udon. Service/staffs was okay

3.5 stars When I think of Vietnamese french style bread«banh mi», a few things register instantly; vietnamese sandwiches«banh mi», curry«ca ri», and beef stew«bo kho». Although the later two can be eaten with rice«com», there’s something stimulating to the senses when eaten with warm, soft crusty bread. Being able to tear off that piece of bread and using it as a vehicle to sop up that wonderful sauce is bliss. At Le Croissant Dore, there are many dishes focused on this mere ritual. One in particular is their beef stew, but I decided to skip out on their most popular dish and ordered the meatball and tomato sauce«Xiu Mai» because I’ve never had it. The pork meatball was extremely moist. It practically melted in the mouth but still had substance. If pork was not enough, laid a piece of Chinese sausage cooked into the meatball. Sprinkled on top were cilantro to add freshness and help cut through the richness and jalapeño peppers for that kick in the ass. The meatballs were swimming in a sweet and light tomato sauce. Also, paired with a dipping sauce, which I felt was not necessary at all given the tomato sauce. Lastly, the french inspired vietnamese baguette. I’ll have to admit, I was quite disappointed in the bread. It was neither warm nor soft and crispy as I had hope, which is a let down since they bake their bread in house. Perhaps this was just a bad batch. Despite the okay bread, the meatballs did more than enough to make up the deficiency. I will be back and look forward to trying their other dishes involving sopping.

They have really good beef stew. I eat it with french bread, not noodles, but you get to decide between the two carb options. I saw many other people eating the curry chicken so must be good. Their fruit tart is the best around. All my family comes here when we want a fruit tart.

Talk about comfort food… I really enjoyed the Bo Kho(Beef Stew), Bo Nau Ruou(Beef Stew w/Red Wine), and Luoi Bo(Same as Beef Stew, but with Beef Tongue). My favorite of all of these is the one cooked with red wine. It’s so tasty and flavorful and is complimented well with the bread! The bread here is soft, better than most places I’d say. Ask for a side of jalapeños to add on a kick!

Small restaurant and menu but they have the BEST Bo Kho. I had the Hu Tieu Bo Kho(Vietnamese Beef Stew with rice noodles) with a side of bread.(I know… carb overload) but it’s sooo good and sops up all the hot savory broth. It’s a generous size bowl and the meat is melt in your mouth delectable bites. I’m already craving another bowl of that beefy goodness. MMmm…

This place is a little too small and can get dirty with a bunch of flies flying around. They are known for their pastries and beef stew. I love their beef stew and pâté chaud! The pâté chaud is to die for and is the best here! It’s so worth the money because it’s so big and fresh for only $ 1.75. This restaurant can get pretty busy since a lot of people prefer to go. Even when it’s busy, the service is still really good. It’s connected to taiko udon so you can also order udon if you don’t want Vietnamese food

Le Croissant Dore is the place to get banh mi bo kho, but forewarning, to even get into the plaza it’s a mission. Located in the heart of Bolsa, where everyone sucks at driving, and parking is limited, you might just get a bit frustrated. But it’s worth it, because croissant dore has just as amazing desserts as it does banh mi no kho. Just beware though, sometimes you do have to wait in line, and to get your food takes some time as well. Banh Mi Bo Kho($ 7.75): It’s similar to beef noodle soup except with a baguette instead of noodles. You could also opt for the mi bo kho, which is one with noodles. The bo kho at this restaurant is very simple, yet it is well made. It is served on a large plate with broth, beef, carrots, and topped off with onions. The beef is always nice and tender; you could literally just rip it apart with a fork in one hand and bread in the other. The soup is not bland whatsoever, it is seasoned perfectly. And the bread, the bread always comes out nice and toasty. If you’re like me, and prefer less fatty meat, you can always request for«thit nac», which is for all meat and no fat. The only thing that I would say about this dish is that the soup is a little thinner than what my parents make at home, but trust me… it’s still delicious. Fruit tarts: MYFAVORITEKINDOFCAKEISFRUITTART. The way they make it at this place is amazing! Not only is it a reasonable price, but the fruit tart is the best tasting fruit tart I’ve had. The crust is nice, flaky, and buttery. The custard is creamy, fresh, and not too sweet. On top of all of that, the fruit placed on top is always nice and fresh. I always prefer fruit tart to cakes because it never gets tiring; sometimes a cake can get too sweet, or too creamy, but not a fruit tart. If it were socially acceptable, or if I wouldn’t gain any weight from this, I would order the largest one for myself and eat it all :3 Strawberry Custard Croissant($ 3): I guess I wouldn’t really call it a croissant, but I don’t know what else to call it. The strawberry custard dessert was like a mini fruit tart. The crust was buttery and flaky and the custard on the inside balanced well with the crust and fruit. The custard was not too sweet; to be honest, the custard is always my favorite part on these kinds of desserts. It was a great dessert to finish with the lunch. It did not feel to heavy or filling, even though there was whip cream and custard. YUMYUMYUM ~~ authentic i love authentic vietnamese food!

«Yes, we made them this morning!» That should NEVER be the answer when a customer orders cream puffs, and you give them(wait for it)… FROZENCREAMPUFFSFROMCOSTCO! If they do that about such a simple thing as cream puffs… imagine what else they’re doing.

After having Porto’s fruit cake, I was expecting something along the same lines at le Croissant Dore because. how different can fruit tarts be? WRONG. ½ sheet for $ 40 is a pretty hard price to beat! The fruit layer on top was fresh and all sweet. I was expecting some to be sour since not all fruits were in season but this wasn’t the case. The crust was what makes them different than the other fruit tarts out there. The Porto’s fruit cake has a dense crust whereas the fruit tart here has a butterly flaky crust, much like a phyllo dough crust. A couple layers of the crunch plus the cream and fruits make it a delicious dessert or snack!
