ATTITUDE with a cherry on top! Lived in the area for about a year and decided to stop. With 4 ice cream type places within 1 square mile I figured the local shop has to be good and why not support the locals. Well I requested a banana split which was pictured on the wall as the traditional kind. The girl seemed bothered that I was ordering but she then asked me what kinda Toppings I wanted? I said give me the traditional kind with strawberry, chocolate & pineapple, she looked at me oddly and said we don’t have that. I said but your picture here shows, and she interrupted me and said that’s just a picture, not what they have. I said just forget it. I left with my wife’s small water ice which was Dixie cup size, and we ate that. Water ice was fine, but nothing special. Thanks to the girls attitude & false advertising, we will never return. Just too many options to deal with attitude and bait & switch tactics.

Primo has been serving the area for as long as I can remember, at reasonable prices and a consistent quality that’s hard to beat. The Rita’s down the street is more expensive and has much less menu variety than that of Primo. I think I’m too old at this point to indulge in their ice box, but seems like a good time for younger kids. Try the strawberry lemonade water ice with vanilla soft serve, or the chocolate covered strawberry shake.

Great neighborhood ice cream parlor with variety(soft serve, hand dipped, water ice, gelato) for affordable prices. There’s a back«game» room for kids, a little on the shabby side, but serviceable. Ample parking. Couldn’t ask for more.

Great place for the whole family! Not much that they don’t have in flavors but one thing really stands out for me chocolate peanut butter water ice! I was skeptical at first but it is the best I ever had, don’t forget to put a little soft serve vanilla on the top! Not to be left out also great quality and great service!

While I want so badly to like the local favorite, with its cheaper prices and down home appeal, I only stop here less frequently than the two frozen food chains on the block, and now that it’s fresh on my palate I do remember why that is. The various«flavors» of water ice are just colors to me. I had birch beer and it was quite bland. Some people must enjoy it this way, but I don’t understand the appeal at all. Competitors are known to add 70 to 90 grams of sugar to make their water ices splendid. Here, I do not know the sugar content nor does it seem to be posted anywhere. Despite the apparent lack of added sugars, it is not assumed that the product could be more natural, nor does it make up for it in taste.

Real fruit chunks in the water ice. That is my favorite thing to find in a dessert stand! I love this place and they have run coupons frequently, on top of their specials for small children(eat free if they can’t see over the counter) so it’s an awesome spot to bring the kids to cool off!

What more could you want in a neighborhood ice cream stand? Video games and movies? Check. Great ice cream? Check. Friendly staff? Check. We go here probably once a week in the summer and love it. They even made us a custom ice cream cake for my sons birthday which was so much better than anything Carvel could have done. Check out the Ice Box for your next kids party too!

This is a really great place. The prices on everything are so incredibly inexpensive that I don’t understand how they earn a living. I’ve gotten ice cream cones and water ice for myself and family of 3 fro under $ 5. It’s pretty impressive how they sell such quality products at such low prices. They also have a room set up in the back that invites customers to wander through and play a quick game on the Wii or the PS3. The staff is super friendly, too. Just a really great place that offers you fun and delicious treats for the whole family at a price you cannot beat. It’s worth driving a bit out of your way for.

I would definitely come here over Rita’s. The place is clean, staff members are friendly and a good variety of products. They have ice flavors that I would have never imagined like Malibu Bay Breeze and so on.

I love this place. The water ices are very flavorful with real fruit flavor. One of my favorites are the chocolate dipped frozen bananas, which are dipped for you and not pre-made like other places. Great facility for kids parties with cool video games.

Seriously good. Way better than Ritas. And you can’t beat the price. A kiddie cup of custard is something like $ 1 and is pretty substantial. Love that they are open year round so I can’t get my ice-y fill all winter long!

Great water ice and open year round. The house specialty bourdeaux cherry is worth the trip just for this.

The best! The water ice has a similar consistency to Rita’s, but is sweeter and rarely has ice chips. Their black cherry bordeux is loaded with real cherries and will spoil you for anything else. Chocolate peanut butter is pretty darn good too. Location is outstanding. Lots of neighborhood kids passing through, but its still a real family environment. Around graduation time, the local seniors decorate their cars in the primo parking lot. Much fun to see. Sometimes I need to catch a break, so I walk over haddon ave and sit on the benches while i eat my water ice. there is an interesting mosiac on a butcher’s to look at and, if your lucky, somebody will be cutting hair at the salon(its no clip joint — its like watching a true artist give somebody a make over on tv). Its family owned and opperated. The water ice is home made. The owner — an italian woman we call her the primo lady — is constantly sweeping the stoop, naturally giving the place a south philly feel. I highly recomend primo. If your shopping in collingswood or haddonfield, its worth the trip.
