Totally disappointed, they advertise as a peruvian restaurant; however, food doesnt taste peruvian at all. Not a cheap or average restaurant, price wise, but their plates and food definitely taste cheap. Maybe the cheff had a bad day today, but wont be coming back. It looks like the owner is Colombian, that might say it all. Menu is not that big, you would expect the food to be top notch, not the case. We ordered a corvina ceviche, which wasnt fresh. There are millions of better peruvian restaurants out there.

This place used to be very good but they seem to be going backwards. There was a period when a weekday lunch was affordable and the place was always packed. Now they don’t offer that, instead they only offer random choices. No more courtesy plantains, it used to be always, then only when you order a main dish(not a special), now it’s just for dinner… Come on! With those prices, in a business area such as the one they are located, nobody will ever go have lunch there anymore… unless they BRINGBACKTHELUNCHMENU they had for a good part of this year!

I had to give 4 stars because the food here is delicious! The place is small but very cute. Some nights they have live music. The service is pretty good. The servers are very kind but maybe a little too busy. The great food keeps this place busy. Must check this place out.

I went to a local event, and this restaurant had a tent there – I had their Aji de Gallina(MYFAVORITEPERUVIANDISH) and it was actually pretty good, so I decided to give this place a chance for dinner one night. Brought my mom and a friend on a Saturday night. I made reservations for 8PM and was seated at about 8:15 – not that bad of a wait. The real wait though, was waiting for the waitress to come and take our order. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, but it looked like they were short staffed. They had live music, which was nice, and the ambiance was dark and the furniture was very modern, but not that comfortable. We started off with Peru’s famous drink, pisco sour and beer(Krystal). The pisco was frozen – so that was a surprise, not a pleasant one. When I order a pisco, I would like for it to be traditional, or at least be informed that it is frozen instead. It also tasted like it didn’t have any alcohol in it. We ordered the causa(potatoes with tuna and mayonnaise), the lomo saltado(white rice, with steak fries, and steak with sautéed onions and tomatoes), and I ordered the tacu tacu(refried beans and fish) because they did not have the Aji de Gallina that I actually wanted to get. THUMBSDOWN! The causa lacked flavor, the lomo I can’t vouch for because I didn’t try it, and the tacu tacu was just alright. The plates are humungous – I don’t mean the servings. I mean the actual plates. We had trouble fitting them all on the table. I honestly wouldn’t go back. It’s not worth the drive or the price. There are better restaurants closer to me, and half the price, and they stay authentic to the real authentic Peruvian food/drinks.

I don’t recommend this restaurant. I was really disappointed with the food and the service. I won’t be returning as there are plenty of other options readily available in the area.

Nice atmosphere. Felt upscale, but was still casual enough to be comfortable in pants and a Polo. Food was great, loved the sauce the banana chip starter comes with. Apparently they have live music on the weekends, but there wasn’t any when I went on a Wednesday night.

Excellent food but service needs a lot of improvement. In the last two occasions when we visited the place, in one case they«made» a mistake and charged my CC an extra $ 100… Vs the actual bill. I had to come back and complain to get it fixed. On a second visit, we tried to use the Five stars points, mentioned to the waiter what we wanted and at the end, they did not honored the points… With the excuse that we did not order the proper item…

I really really enjoyed my meal here. The food was delicious for the most part and I would come back. My mother and I started with the ceviche mixto, it was a good portion or shrimp, octopus, squid, and corvina in tigers milk. The presentation was nice and the flavors were good and I enjoyed it. For my main I went with the chaufa de mixto which again I really enjoyed, it was definitely the best fried rice I’ve ever had and I liked the mix of seafood and steak. My mother got the tacu tacu which we both found very bland and wouldn’t get again. For dessert we got some dulce de leche which was tasty but was like eating a caned of condensed milk with some foam on top. Service was ok though slow at time and décor looked a bit cheap with clear plastic chairs. We went on a Monday night and they had a musician which was nice. Overall a decent meal and one I would recommend. I will say that I’m a little concerned they may use a frozen seafood mix as literally everything has the same assortment of seafood in it.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! I was a little nervous, never having eaten Peruvian food, but the flavors are phenomenal! I don’t care for seafood, but my friends got several seafood items and raved about them(one of the dishes had calamari in it). I got a steak dish and it was out if this world. The presentation was beautiful, too. On Saturday nights, the live music is enjoyable but not intrusive. Creative and tasty menu items and a friendly wait staff. The volume level is slightly high, but it wasn’t a distraction.

Found this place near the Everglades. What a fantastic meal and service! Like that it was small and everything was made in house. I had the Corvina in a parmesean sauce with veggies! Highly recommended!

I visited Mochika Peru Bistro because of the good reviews it had and because I was craving ceviche. When you walk into the restaurant, it is not the biggest restaurant you will see but it is very comfortable. In addition the ambience of the restaurant feels classy and upscale perfect type of spot to take a date to. Also I believe that on Saturdays or at least some Saturdays they have some musicians playing in the background which is good and bad at the same time. The live music was good and it created a joyous environment, but it ruined conversations at the same time. Other than the place itself, service was great. Food was quick to arrive, and our server was very attentive. The reason I don’t give this restaurant a better score is the food. I have eaten Peruvian food in many parts of the world, and this is among the least memorable meals. For the ceviche it lacked the spice that the Peruvian ceviche has, and as for the other dish it was lacking flavor. In the end if you are not a fan of spice this might be a good alternative for you, but the Peruvian food I know and crave has a kick to it. Overall, this restaurant offers a great atmosphere, great service and average food. I would recommend this to someone who is trying to dip their toes into the Peruvian cuisine or to those that don’t like the spicy dishes.

This is the best Peruvian restaurant I have been to in South Florida. It is a small locale, but very nicely decorated and with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Service is top notch, they have live music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and food quality is superb. I’m Peruvian, so I have eaten my fair share of lomo saltado, but the one they make here is one of the best I have ever had. They use real lomo(filet mignon) and the seasoning is wonderful. You can order it the classic style which comes with white potato fries or you can have their house special which comes with mashed sweet potato. I had the house version and it was wonderful. We also tried the corvina mochika which is prepared with a coconut milk sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. Fish was cooked to perfection, moist and tender, and the sauce had just the right mix of spices. This dish comes normally with shrimp and calamari, but we asked that seafood be replaced by portobello mushrooms and they had no problem making the adjustment. This is a great place worth visiting if you are looking for gourmet Peruvian food.

I’m starting with dessert, because I’m still dreaming of that dessert. Nutella crepes! And it comes with this incredible raspberry wine reduction sauce, vanilla ice cream, and strawberries. The flavors in this dessert balance each other so well and you get a pop of amazingness in every bite. One of the best desserts I’ve had. I am a lomo saltado aficionado. There are a few Peruvian restaurants in the area, and I selected Mochika for dinner based on the photos that have been posted of their lomo saltado — I just knew it was going to be delicious. And, they did not disappoint. They nailed the sauce. So savory and great depth of flavor. They make it with filet so you can choose how you like your steak cooked. Red onions, tomatos, and they serve the fries in a stack of crispy goodness. Jasmine rice on the side. All the classic components executed brilliantly. They have an option that comes with their sweet potato compote if you are a bit adventurous. Live guitarist on a Friday night. Great ambiance and atmosphere. Good service. I would definitely come back. I just wiiiiiish they had traditional aji verde. But, their in house hot sauce was delicious and you should try it!

I had all but given up on pisco sours. Then I came here. The first time I had a pisco sour — it was horrible. Way too strong… I couldn’t drink it. Not at Mochika… here they are real deal. Smooth — but still packing a punch — and they go perfect with your meal. Mind you, I came in for a business meeting. We chatted over the drinks and then shared a couple of plates. Everything I had was delicious. Ceviche — while not the absolute best ceviche I have ever had, it was pretty good. Some of the fish chunks were a bit big for my liking, but I just cut them — no biggie. Lomo Saltado — holy moly! This was delicious. We got the fries separate(more on those later) but I wouldn’t of minded them drenched in the sauce. Super tender and perfectly cooked steak. Fries — how do you make fries really great? It’s all in the presentation. The fries were brought out in a tower that resembled a game of french fry jenga. Awesome! Plus, they were thick cut steak fries, perfectly fried and delicious. Tacu-tacu — thanks to one of my partners being Peruvian I got to have Tacu-tacu for the first time. She ordered it as a side on one of the lomos. WOW. This is beans and rice put together into a patty and then lightly fried. It was delicious. Once again — wouldn’t of minded if it was drenched in the lomo sauce. They also brought out a little thing of chili that was awesome. Spicy as heck, but really took everything up a notch. The service was also great. She checked in just the right amount of times. Filled water cups on the regular and all around had service with a smile. I’m rooting for Mochika to do well — and I am sure they will.

Mochika Peru Bistro is a fantastic restaurant located just off of Weston road. A little hidden but with the help of Unilocal and some recommendations we ended up here on a Friday night. They specialize in gourmet style Peruvian-Fusion cuisine by mixing Italian, French, and Asian flavors into the traditional Peruvian classics. The level of service was excellent. The waiter was very attentive to our needs and had no problem spending a few minutes talking to us about this restaurants story. He was very knowledgeable of all the plates we asked about including flavors, ingredients and methods of preparation. I thought this was really good because most waiters don’t pay close attention on what happens in the kitchen. He even told us that they make everything from scratch made to order, so we were free to modify the recipe or ingredients if we wanted to. We started off with a red sangria and a Pisco Sour. They were served in wine glasses and were really good, especially the Pisco which is a staple among Peruvian cocktails. For appetizer we got a classic corvina ceviche which comes with Leche de Tigre(Tiger’s Milk). Let me tell you, five stars on the presentation and flavors. Everything from the fish, the onions, the sweet potatoes, and corn, all exquisite. Ceviche is one of Peru’s national dishes and everyone should try it at least once. My girlfriend ordered the lomo saltado. The waiter told us that their lomo was a play on the classic Peruvian dish but that they also offered the same dish in the original recipe. Both recipes sounded amazing and my girlfriend stuck with what she knows and ordered the classic. This has to be one of the best Lomo Saltados I have ever had. The potatoes were stacked on the side like a Jenga tower. The steak, which was filet mignon was very tender, juicy, and best I have ever had on a lomo. I ordered a honey coconut corvina that was not on the menu but the waiter recommended. It is pan seared corvina bathed in a delicately creamy bechamel, coconut and honey sauce topped with shrimp, mushrooms and calamari. Presentation were wonderful and the dish was cooked perfectly. All in all we were stuffed at this point. We were torn because we wanted to order dessert so bad but knew we were so full we would be miserable so we told ourselves next time. This experience came around $ 80 which is not bad for such a beautiful setting, exquisite cuisine and top notch service! Oh and did I mention they had live music?

Peruvian-Asian-Fusion twist. Very chic and romantic. Live music on Friday night. Restaurant is small but intimate. Staff is great! Very informative. They take their time with you and are very inviting. Our waiter was Hector, who is also the manager. He greeted us, we were sat right away, and asked if we had ever been there before. I love when I am asked this question because it’s really their perfect opportunity to make a great impression(or bad depending on how it goes lol). This was our first time here. We were actually recommended by Blue himself. Once Hector knew we were newbies, he waisted no time telling us about their history and cuisine. I love that! You can tell when someone really loves where they work. We were served water and plantain chips right away. They were delicious. We ordered the«tigers milk» ceviche … OMG it was good!!! For my meal I got the Lomo Saltado(the classic version; they have two versions). Let me tell you, I’ve had a lot of Lomo Saltado’s(my hunnie is Peruvian after all) and this is by far the best all-around Lomo dish I’ve ever had! First of all they use filet mignon(that’s not common by the way). It was literally delicious! The plates are huge so if you do get an appetizer don’t get a big one. The overall experience in this quant place deserves a 5-star rating, and I don’t give many 5-star ratings. From the staff to the timeliness, and the food, I was very impressed. If you like Peruvian cuisine and your in the Weston area, do yourself(and your stomach) a favor and go eat here!!! Trust me you won’t regret it!!!
