This is the best place for hiking ever. Went for a walk and had a great time surrounded by wilderness.

My pops used to take my sister and I here when we were little kids — It was close to home. I have since moved to the Big City and thought«why go here? — Weston is all woods anyhow» Well although that assumption may be true, this park is very clean and still a great place to go hiking. I remember class field trips here to teach us about geology and nature — oh man nostalgia. I’ll go back one day — I’ll even bring my pops!

A gem of a state park in CT. Feels like you’re in the deep woods. There are trails with very few people. Amazing nature and you get to have the feeling that you are away from cars, and highways!

Love this place! We are only about an hour away in NYC and every time we come here we go to Crackle Barrel afterwards. I recommend this Preserve to anyone who is interested in getting away from the big city and enjoying a great nature hike. Bring a camera because some of the vista sites are great!

THE # 1 trail running spot and hiking sanctuary. Huge, well maintained, and allows for a wide variety of loops depending on what you’re looking for. Beautiful year-round. Definitely bring a map though, because for all the years I’ve spent here, trails are numerous and I’ve still managed to get lost here and there.

I’d lived in Fairfield county almost my whole life and never knew this was here. There are lots of trails and you can go for a long hike or a shorter one if you prefer. It’s quiet and you forget that you are so close to Westport and Norwalk. There are no signs really until you pull in to a very tiny road. The parking lot only had one car. They have trail maps in the parking lot; I would really advise taking one. It’s helpful because the posts just have number markings on them that need to be referenced on the map. Overall great hike.

Most people don’t know this place exists, it’s hidden from the main path of traffic, not actually easy to find when you know what you’re looking for, and when arriving it’s a bit surprising to often see that the lot is empty. Don’t get me wrong, it’s used quite a bit, the maps of the trails are well documented, maintained, and of course there is plenty of value here if a nice hike is in store but there is really a lot missing from the view of the passing visitor. Fall foliage is amazing if the furthest North East«ledge» is within your range of hiking and winter snow shoe or cross country ski options abound as well. A gem for locals looking for cross country jogging and a little fresh air with little to no sound pollution.
