Came here on recommendation from a colleague, initial person I spoke to was great and told them I’d bring my bike on the Saturday. On Saturday, dropped the bike off, was told it would be ready on Wednesday and returned on Wednesday to pick it up. Only to find out the bike was not even touched. Yes, that was my own fault for not calling to make sure it’s done but come on, if you can’t deliver why say so? Especially for something simple like bleeding brakes, if I’d realized it would have taken this long, I would have done it myself. Informed them the next chance I have to pick up the bike would be the next Saturday, came on Saturday and finally the work on the bike had been performed. Only to find out my front tire valve cap is missing, the rear brake now squeals(mineral oil contamination on the pads) and oil everywhere around the lever. Had to buy new pads to stop the squeal and cleaned the brakes. They couldn’t have kept it clean or cleaned up afterwards? Not to mention the mechanic I saw on the second visit had an attitude and the young helper was dumb. Couldn’t even spell my simple name right or number.

Took my bike to be repaired because of Unilocal.Price was more than was quoted and took a long time to fix. Once, I got the bike back it never shifted correctly. Finally the chain snapped due to the shifting issues. I took it to another shop for a second option and they pointed out all the things that were done incorrectly(ex. new chain was installed four links too long). Save your time and money.

Few local bike shops actually work on front shocks, this shop is the exception – by the way, fully certified as well. So after leaving my 10k Epic SWorks in their highly qualified hands, I knew I had nothing to worry about. What I didn’t know was the shop owner would go out of his way to have the manufactuter ship a brand new shock once he realized the problem was related to design. This despite the fact the shock’s warranty had expired a year before. I absolutely recommend them.

If a high quality, skilled mechanic is what you are seeking then go to Protech. They may not have the largest selection, but they can order whatever you need, if they don’t have it in stock. Carlos and Gil are class acts and will make your bike perform to the best of its ability.

While biking one day around Weston, I was going really fast and standing on my pedals when suddenly I felt a nice little crunch and a very unpleasant grinding noise coming from my chain. «That can’t be anything good». I couldn’t pedal anymore as the super cheap plastic stock pedals had split and my chain was loose. My bike sat there for a month before I decided to take it in to ProTech. I bought some metal pedals, and a kickstand at Target and took it in the shop for a tune up and repairs. They serviced the bike and replaced a bracket that was being all wobbly. The shop was super busy and they told me it was going to take a couple of days. They called me on the day it was due to consult me about the bracket they had to order so they said it was gonna take a bit longer. They didn’t call me back so I called after maybe a week and they said it was ready. I paid about 90 bucks all in all. I’ll definitely come back for tune ups as needed, but only if they are not too busy.
