Bobby Q’s in westport closed its doors after 11 years in this spot in early April– the brisket, wings and roasted turkey are great– sides like the applesauce and corn bread are also delicious. Can’t wait til they open in a new spot in Norwalk CT

Hands down best bbq in Fairfield County(second place to Brother Jimmys, third to Dinosaur BBQ). I usually stick with the bbq ranch wrap. The frizzled onions are delicious to snack on if you are having drinks, the brisket made me actually like brisket for the first time in my life and the sauces are amazing. The sides are ok, I feel like every bbq place has the same sides and nothing wows me. I would just go to eat a ton of meat! I heard they are moving to Waypointe in Norwalk(thank goodness they aren’t closing for good!).

So the owner made himself look good by stating he would refund me– same day I sent him a message asking where can I contact him directly(phone number) still haven’t gotten a response. Will not be visiting new location!

Had dinner there last night. Had a little wait, but it was worth it. The food was great and any place that runs out of food should tell you how good everything is. Our waiter Marcus was awesome very attentive and explained everything to us. Can’t wait to go back and now that they’ll be closer in the Waypoint area you must give them a try.

I really wanted to like this place. Came here because I saw the ribs won state championships. Very disappointed overall. The ribs were bland and VERY dried out. The smokiness of the ribs was very low. There were 4 different sauces to use but they all tasted the same. One didn’t have a label on it so I asked the bartender what it was. He had no idea. Service at the bar was slow and I was the only one sitting there. Bartender disappeared for long periods of time. Probably not worth a repeat trip.

Overall thought — food is good! Service is terrible! Ambiance — classic western bbq themed restaurant. Open wooden beams adds a nice touch to the feel of the place. Very clean. Service — much to be desired for service. When the hostess seated us it took almost 20 minutes before the waiter even came to see what we wanted to drink and there was only two other customers in the whole restaurant. After that very little interaction with us, but the women that was there by herself eating was constantly being tended to. The waiter was obviously more concerned about getting a phone number then taking care of his customers. Would have been a 4 or 5 star review if service was better. Food — It’s not Texas but for the Northeast it’s very good! Had the beast sandwich. Highly recommend! The potato roll, brisket and frizzy onions provided an abundance of flavor for your taste buds to enjoy. The bacon cheese burger was amazing. Bacon was cooked perfectly to compliment the juiciness of the burger itself. Fries were top notch.

After 10+ years of ordering the same magical lunch every time I’ve visited, I’m devastated to hear that Bobby Qs will be closing in March. Still, that gives me a couple solid months of BBQ visits every time I’m visiting family in Norwalk. Although, let’s be honest, I’ve never actually ordered BBQ here. I’ve TRIED it(from other dining companion plates) and it’s delicious(especially the ribs), but I’m forever stuck on the BBQ-ranch wrap. Bacon, onions, lettuce, tangy bbq ranch sauce, and crispy chicken. It’s my forever favorite. Service is always good here, regardless of how busy the restaurant is. Make a point to come here before it closes!

took the chili… below average. Same for the service. My boyfriend had the ribs and love it.

First time here(visiting from out of state). Our review is based on our meals, which were not traditional BBQ. I got the fish tacos. Or I think it was called a fish taco but it’s more of a roll up sandwich with grilled fish and a ton of lettuce and tomatoes. A soft shell should really be used cuz most bites did not contain fish — just lettuce and tomato to fill up the wrap. The cilantro lime dressing is good but should be on the side My husband had the Qban sandwich and that was fabulous! A nice BBQ take on a Cuban sandwich. Like bed the Texas toast style bread.

Can’t go wrong with Bobby Q’s. Surely the best BBQ I’ve had in the area. Delicious ribs and pulled pork. Portions were great and the food came out quickly. Only thing that was lacking was the sides. If it weren’t for the dry corn bread with honey butter and the mediocre Mac & cheese I would have given 5 stars. However the mashed potatoes side was pretty good. The location and décor is pretty cool as well. Will return soon.

4.5 stars. What I’m looking for in a BBQ place. Have been here 3 times, and I’ve always enjoyed my food. Service is usually quick, even when busy. I’ve never had an empty glass for more than a minute or a server say«no» to a wish. Can’t go wrong with any of the appetizers. Didn’t enjoy the ribs, but that might be personal preference. By far my favorite are the Beef Burnt Ends. Pulled chicken and sausage were great. Favorite sides are the Baked Mac and Cheese and Cole Slaw.

Rooftop baby! Best place to be with a group of friends in the summer. Not spectacular food/service by any means — but hey it’s a BBQ place. Catering is great — had it at a friends party. Burnt ends and pulled pork sliders were good. Go upstairs while you can!

The ambience is just right for a bbq. Butcher paper roll ups cover each table, inviting you to get sloppy. The grilled veg side order was awesome. Sadly, the baby back ribs were so overdone and dry that once you saw them off the bone, you can either eat them or use them as toothpicks. Probably worth a second chance if, unlike me, you are a local.

We went there on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. We had heard good things about the restaurant and figured we would try it… New England generally has abysmal barbecue offerings. First off, we liked the setting… down an alley from the front of the building, and there is a feeling of seclusion. I noticed there was no smell of the smoker in the air, which I am used to with barbecue restaurants… always gets my appetite going before I walk in! Service was OK. Not exceptional, not bad either. We ordered the fried pickle appetizer and it was very, very good. I had their sweet tea and it was excellent. With regards to the meals, the portions were very generous and the home made applesauce was great. The cornbread was a little hard… but the honey butter was excellent. The meats were tender and cooked just right(I had the rib/pulled pork and brisket combo, my wife had the turkey). They lacked any smokiness — no smoke flavor, no smoke ring on the meat — I can honestly say I wasn’t sure if it was cooked in the smoker. That’s something you don’t want your customers to be curious over! I did make an attempt to find out what type of wood was used in the smoker and the waiter said he had no idea. With regards to the overall meal it was good but it was not memorable. I would say above average New England Barbecue but it doesn’t make me feel like I’m in Kansas City. If in town we may stop back, but it did not impress us as a destination dinner worth a 20 minute drive. Overall, still a 3 star… was really hoping for a 5 star BBQ experience in CT!

Very good food … assuming you use their wide range of BBQ sauces, which are GOOD!(I tried them ALL). Décor is pretty cool, music was fun, waitstaff are very helpful. Prices are a little steep, value for money a bit skewed, but certainly worth paying extra for.

One of my favorite spots in Westport. The Texas cheese toast and blue balls(I know) are the best appetizers. As for main courses, you can’t go wrong with their barbecue. The ribs are great! If you’re feeling healthy, the Southern Belle Salad is very tasty. Though this is a bbq joint, dessert cannot be ignored. Their peach cobbler is fantastic.

We love this spot in downtown Westport and often come here for lunch when we’re in town shopping. We brought my husband’s Mom and Aunt here during a recent visit for lunch. They loved it and they’re from the South, so they’re picky about their BBQ! I got the Turkey Reuben with coleslaw and fries. The sandwich was delicious and a huge portion — I was able to save half for a snack later that day. They have a full bar, as well as great sweet tea. We also shared the fried pickles which were delicious. I guess I didn’t try the BBQ, so this review doesn’t reflect that, but I think everyone was happy with their salads, pulled pork sandwich, etc.

I was visiting my best friend from college and she was taking me around to all her favorite eateries and this happened to be one of them. Having tried BBQ that ranged from excellent to downright disgusting I was willing to give it a try at the very list(but I have to say I expected greatness). I ordered the St. Louis ribs plus one with a side of corn bread and mac and cheese. The cornbread came with a side of honey butter which could have been good if the cornbread wasn’t so dry and the mac and cheese tasted like they got it from KFC. The ribs were delicious but the brisket was fatty and gross. I sent it back to get another cut and it came back still fatty and gross. Like you could see the fat glistening on top of each slice and I just couldn’t touch it. I thought good brisket was supposed to have to fat cooked off and be nice and tender? I don’t know, I’m not an expert, I just know I don’t like fatty meat and the brisket I usually get from my local food truck is consistently delicious and lean. This place gets 3 stars only because their ribs were falling off the bone and delicious. I didn’t try any of the other sauces just what was already served on top of the ribs. I didn’t want to mix sauces but as a tip from my friend’s husband I would say you should order the ribs with the dry rub and try a few of the sauces from the table. See if you can skip the sides because our table ordered the applesauce, mac n cheese, corn and bean mix, cornbread and I think the overall consensus was that they were all pretty bad. Stick to the ribs, pulled pork and french fries.

Not a place you’d typically pick as a vegetarian but I like it. I generally get wine, sweet potato fries with honey mustard and a salad. Dressings are great, rich and creamy. I noticed some other veg options today like quesadillas and creamed spinach along with fish choices like crab cakes and salmon. Outdoor seating on Main Street is a great addition! So glad the Town of Westport has embraced this and is encouraging a more civilized al fresco dining scene. They have music on the weekends though I’ve never been. I like going to bed early too much. Sitting outside, I’m witnessing lots of takeout by mommies in their Range Rovers. They park in front, lock their cars on this empty street filled with Porsches and Mercedes(mine included), run in for like 2 minutes and then come out with BBQ bags so happy their locked cars are safe… wtf?! I leave all my shit hanging out and open 24×7. Lol!
