This place is a sad excuse for a Mexican place. I honestly think this is the worst mexican I’ve ever had as there was no authentic taste to it. I left two stars because the employees were courteous. The shrimp taco plate was literally two shrimps per taco with cilantro and tomato. Typically you atleast get lime with shrimp tacos, but these people either don’t care or just don’t know what they’re doing by leaving their tacos so plain. They also gave a pinch of rice on the side with beans. The salsa? Straight out of a tostidos salsa jar and that was the only option available. Their food is definitely not cheap either. Do yourself a favor and go to señor salsa in Fairfield if you’re looking for a quick mexican fix.

Loved it. Very clean. Great flavor. Very authentic. Great menu. It’s not the largest place in the world but all I want is great food. My ancestors would be proud to eat here. Big shock in CT :)

Great little taco spot. This review is only based on the hard-shell tacos. I always get the chicken or beef. They make them fast, and perfect every time. I noticed they make the hard-shells themselves, so you will probably never get a stale one. Tip: make sure you ask/pay for the sour cream. Only 25 cents to turn your tacos into nom nom nom tacos. They do have outside benches, sometimes it’s a bit too hot in there. Step 1. Order taco Step 2. Throw some Cholula hot sauce on that bad boy. Step 3. Top with sour cream to hold/pack in all the tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese in there. Step 4. Nom nom nom nom nom…

To call Border Grill«fast-Mexican food» doesn’t do it justice… plus they actually do free delivery any day of the week. Always love their Border Burger and the Chicken Ceasar Wrap… tasty and filling. My teens’ 1st choice restaurant as far as Mexican… Bar Taco has become their 2nd, for two reasons: 1. Border Grill is a better value, and 2: Speedy but good service and friendly owner and employees! Glad they’re in Westport… makes for a really yummy treat on those days you want to get out of the kitchen but not sacrifice great food… even the chicken tenders and fries can’t be beat.

Items off the Kids Menu are served at the right temperature, if your kids like blisters in their mouth. The only indoor seating is on stools 4 feet above the tile floor. Apple juice is extra, if your kids don’t like fountain soda… great combo deal… not(best to go a la carte). The showcased item, the burrito, was mediocre. Oh yeah, and, it’s cash only, but don’t worry because there is an ATM in house at $ 1.75 per transaction. On the positive side, the chili was excellent for hot dogs and the kids liked the food after it cooled a good 10 minutes. Had the owner given me us one apple juice for the wasted two fountain sodas, I would have felt better about the experience. Wake up to customer service already.

Stopped in for bite and was really pleased with everything. It’s small, but not cramped. It’s also clean. I had a Burrito which was tasty but not super filling. Complimented by some chips and salsa. Good value.

I have eaten the Taco platters and they were excellent! He has by far THEBEST Bacon Cheeseburger all around! It’s a small shot, not meant to be a gourmet restaurant! Go here and you will be happy!

Relatively cheap fare that’s decent if you know what to order. That said, I’ve only enjoyed the Border Burger, the Aztec Chicken Salad, and the Border Chicken Caesar salad. Tacos, Burritos, and Guac are subpar.

I am so surprised by the negative reviews. I really enjoyed my lunch here. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken sandwich and the chicken was moist, the toppings were fresh, and it was cooked to order. Great locally owned Tex-Mex. FYI: they only take cash.

Wow. By far the worst Tex/Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to! The cashier lady looked like she came straight out of the Goonies movie. My boyfriend and I had to order gluten-free and vegan on our strict diet. She recommended the bean burrito(we opted for a «bowl» option. When our food was ready it came out in aluminum tin round container. We looked at our food in disgust but didn’t say anything yet. We took a few bites and looked at each other. Food was separated into sections: Black beans straight out of a can Guacamole(more like faux guac out of a pasty tube?) Salsa/Pico De Gallo out of a jar. I think I am reminded it from Tostitos?! lol and rice from a box? OMG never again.

To accurately describe Border Grill would be to run the risk of the review never rising above the excremental. The guacamole looked and tasted as though it was extruded through a Play-doh fun factory and the salsa was not even mediocre. Boooo.

This is a small place serving quick Tex-Mex food on Route 1. The menu items are nothing special. My Santa Fe chicken sandwich was skimpy on the chicken and the french fries were average. You pay at the register and sit at any one of the several surrounding counters.
