Marilyn was terrific at Sharkey’s — she took such good care of my 4 year old who has some sensory issues and dislikes haircuts… he was fine with Marilyn and enjoyed the haircut!

They do a great job with my son’s hair. I wish, however, the woman we first used worked more flexible hours. Otherwise you may need to take whomever is open. The place is spacious and clean. I like that they support charities. Also the hair products line for boys is great.

I went to Sharkey’s last week for my son’s first haircut and had a WONDERFUL experience. My son is 9 months old and the beautician, Marilyn, was so sweet and gave him a wonderful, natural-looking cut. He had a ball playing in the race-car seat and Marilyn’s calm, warm and friendly demeanor had him at ease the entire time. It was $ 28 for a «first cut package» — but it came with a picture, an adorable«first haircut» certificate and a little baggy of his hair. Plus, part of the cost of the cut goes to charity(you get a little token at the end of your cut to drop in the charity jar of your choice, which was fun!). I know that $ 28 seems steep, but given the environment and the importance of a friendly, welcoming environment for a kid’s first haircut, I felt I made the right choice bringing him to Sharkey’s — and we’ll be going back to see them for his next cut!

Sharkeys for Westport is wonderful. Take my 8 yr old here to get his hair cut often and he loves playing the Wii. Had my daughters Bday party here… was amazing. The staff here REALLY cares about the kids. And they give great cuts for reasonable price!

This place is a complete ripoff. We paid an absurd $ 30 dollars to have our 10-month-old daughter’s hair chopped off unevenly. We wanted to give her her first haircut because it was so long. The Hispanic woman who cut her hair was in such a rush and did not have a warm demeanor at all. Our daughter was scared during the entire session. These stylists work at a salon for kids because they honestly don’t have the training to succeed at a regular salon.
