They may have excellent donuts, but both times that I was there, they waited on the person in front of me and then the person behind me so I could never find out and were quite rude when I said, ‘I’m next in line.” They take care of their ‘regulars’, but how could you become a regular if they are so rude? Thinking the first time was a fluke, I went back. After the second time, I would never go back. They get minus stars for rudeness.

Such nice people and such nice donuts! A great stop, very old-fashioned, very charming and you must try the chocolate donuts. The cake donuts are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and not greasy like that chain that dominate around here. I didn’t try any of the other food offerings but the coffee was spot on.

I don’t quite know what the do or how they do it but this was hands down the best doughnuts I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve had lots! To call other doughnuts a doughnut is now an insult to what they are serving up here. It’s beyond compare. Not too sweet, light, fluffy, soft, moist. Small slice of heaven on Earth. Try it you will not be disappointed.

Gets a 4.3 for the donuts, a 3.8 for Diner fare, and a 2 for convenience. Theres no website and weekend hours are strange in that closes at 1 on Sunday and 3:30 in Saturday? The good news is that it forced me to find an amazing coffee and churro place in Stamford — called Lorca — which is more upscale and churros are made to order fresh for each customer.

Fantastic Donuts! I don’t believe I’ve ever had anything else on the menu, but the donuts keep me coming back.

Amazing donuts! We stopped there on our way from NJ to MA and what a great stop that was. We ordered glazed, chocolate and powered donuts, they were all delicious! My husband also ordered the cheddar, bacon and egg sandwich and it was very yummy, too. The food is fresh and the staff is very friendly!

Amazing cake doughnuts! This is coming from an ex-NYC-er with a big love for doughnuts. Cash only. Crazy good prices. Super cute traditional diner interior.

An old time Westport tradition! Great donuts, I love the coconut covered cruller. The egg salad sandwich is a lunchtime treat. You can’t go wrong!

This is our absolute favorite place to go on the weekend. It is a charming little spot and the staff is so friendly. For the last few years we have only gone there for the amazing breakfast sandwiches and donuts but today we tried lunch and realize that we have been missing out! It is SO delicious. I am such a picky person when it comes to chicken salad but I thought I would give it a try. It is seriously the best chicken salad I have ever had. I cannot wait to go back for more! Love this place!

Coffee An’ is probably my favorite restaurant in the Northeast, if not the world. The service is impeccable, as they are always super friendly and make you feel as if you’re a part of the family whenever you come through the door. I’ve only been here for lunch once, but breakfast more times to count, and I’ve never had a meal that was less than excellent. Every single thing on the menu is stellar, and it comes out of the kitchen within ten minutes of placing the order, even if its packed to the brim. But, as the name suggests, the donuts are a slice of heaven. All other donuts wish they could be those donuts. I could rhapsodize about those incredible donuts forever. Although the food and service is stellar, the thing that really ties it all together for me is the feel of the place. The old school, family atmosphere is something that is becoming harder to find in Westport, and a Westport without Coffee An’ is a Westport that I do not want to be apart of.

How am I so confident that this place is a 5-star establishment? Simple: anytime I’m able to eat a donut elsewhere I think of this place and wish I could replace my would-be donut with a Coffee’An. Very nice people who work there, and solid lunch items, too.

Love this place! I’ve been coming to Coffee An since I was a youngun for breakfast and lunch and I love it every time. First, their home made donuts are incredible. They have set flavors, but honestly? Who cares, they’re awesome and you really aren’t looking for all the wacky flavors when you come here. Second, if you haven’t tried the French Toast you’re missing out, not to mention all of the other breakfast items. Third, lunch items equal delicious! Most importantly, though, is the service and the atmosphere. You’re always greeted with a smile that’s genuine and surrounded by locals who chat with everyone(if you’re sitting at the counter). It’s family run, so there are always familiar faces taking your order. Plus, if you need one more reason to go, at the end of the day Coffee An donates their unsold donuts to the senior/disabled home down the street.

Incredibly endearing and charming local place, but I can’t award more stars because the chocolate glazed donut was not in the same league as my favorite donut shop on the Shoreline. I will be back to try their specialty donuts

Your friendly neighborhood breakfast/lunch spot. The kind of place where you would expect them to know what you want as you walk through through the door. The kind of place where you would expect them to say«what’s that?» If you asked for a skinny double shot hazelnut mochachino. This in not your fancy pants espresso café, just good food/service with a side of love. I know what your going to ask… «ok, but do they have chocolate chip pancakes?». YES!

Donuts are awesome. Soft, pliant but valet with gooey chocolate frosting. The whole family loved them. Coffee was good, but the donuts rocked. What really makes his ace stand out though is the folks who work here, obviously a hangout for regulars as opposed to us who who just passing through. There was familiar banter, laughter, sharing of photos and updates on kids, etc. if TV Cheers were to be reincarnated as a real life donut shop, this would be it. Loved it.

Just the right ‘cakey’ balance between too light or too greasy — as good as I’ve had anywhere. Right up there with(or better than) the VERY best so-called gourmet hip NYC chic bakeries — without the abuse, long lines or the credit check. Yes, a bit expensive, but bigger, more filling, fresher and, if you hang around, often SERVEDHOT! Friendly, fast, cozy seating for breakfast. Coconut chocolate crullers are what dreams are made of(almost big enough for 2, but it won’t last long enough to share). Great old American 50−60s neighborhood vibe, w/photos of the locals and presidential candidate visits from the not too distant past. One of my favorite hole-in-the-walls in CT.

This is the essential old time donut deli/café. A relic of times past when people would gather to hang out and sip a coffee and read the paper and make small talk for hours. Very rare for the area. Very old school with mostly counter seating and spinning stools. The donuts are VERY good. And the muffins. Again, very old school and quality. Something the modern chain donut shops can’t offer. Why 4 stars then? Expensive.

If you grew up around here(merrit parkway — exit 42), then this place means home. It means home in that you had to pass it every single time you were driven and later drove ANYWHERE is Westport. It means home because those few shops there had been there forever — for a while at least. And it was home because I the cinniman bun is that good, and I once have a tripe-berry muffin that made me change my whole approach to muffins. If I recall, the coffee is decent but on the weak side, and the seating squishy. I hope I get the chance to back before I die.
