A «Neat» place! I like the location, located in beautiful Westport area. The décor inside is different than other coffee shops, it serves as more of a restaurant/coffee/bar place. Lattes are not bad here, didn’t order food so cannot say much about that, will be back to try more coffee and food on menu.

Awesome coffee, great staff and the education classes are a must. Kyle(director of coffee) is so passionate about his craft and has an amazing palette. Leave the dark side(French toast) and join the rebellion.

Let me start with the good stuff… Neat has GREAT coffee. If you’re just looking for a place to sit and have coffee(and have plenty of time to spare) Neat is a nice place. Knowing that Neat has good coffee, I decided to try it for brunch. Unfortunately, the appalling experience my boyfriend and I had here this past Sunday guaranteed that we will never return, even just for the coffee. To begin with, the service was horrible. The waitress was extremely rude and we had to make an extra effort to get her attention any time we wanted to order/needed something. For example, we had to ask her specifically to fill the empty water glasses on the table and to bring silverware for our food, after waiting patiently for her to do so. It took about 15 minutes to get our coffee(the place was not busy). When it came to the food, Neat was out of the main ingredient of the first three items I tried to order. Since I have to eat gluten-free, the only remaining item available to me were two slices of frozen gluten free bread with PB and jelly… for over $ 8. My boyfriend’s lox/bagel plate was fine, but it came with one piece of lox and cost $ 13/$ 14. The two tables directly to the left and right of us were having the exact same experiences. One of the tables next to us spent the ENTIRE time discussing how atrocious the service and food was. They even sent the first dish that they had ordered back to the kitchen(egg soufflé sliders) and said that they would refuse to pay for it. It’s really hard to enjoy a meal when you as well as everyone around you cannot help but be shocked by the poor quality of the restaurant. Neat certainly has the potential to be a great coffee/food/bar joint, but they have A LOT of work to do first. I would recommend finding somewhere else to go if you’re looking for anything other than coffee.

Very good mocha latte. However had to wait 20 mins for just a regular coffee. Service needs work and was very slow. Darien location is better put together. Would still go back for coffee.

Perhaps I’ll try it again someday but after the experience I’ve just had, it’s doubtful I’ll return. To be fair I’ve been once before and it was fine but upon today’s visit I waited quite a while to be seated while being ignored by staff who were standing towards the back chatting. It wouldn’t be a big deal but then once they finished their discussion they walked past like you’re not even there. Once I got someone’s attention and asked if I could just take a seat(they said that would fine), I was again ignored for twenty more minutes while other’s meals came and went. Just a frustrating experience so I decided to leave and find my meal elsewhere. Hopefully it was just an off day.

This place is really hipster inside which I liked but the food and service could use some improvement. We had ordered latte, draft coffee, vanilla ice coffee and homemade vanilla gelato. The draft coffee tasted like watered down ice coffee. I suppose I was expecting a deeper rich coffee taste. The ice coffee wasn’t very strong, slightly too sweet by the vanilla syrup but very watery. The latte was too milky and not enough coffee, a bit too much foam on top. Well, I asked for vanilla gelato, they served me a chocolate chip type gelato. Honestly, tasted very gritty. I was expecting a more creamy texture. I thought it tasted old. The service was ok but it seemed like only one person was serving everyone and the cooking staff could care less. One drink at a time came out. The vanilla gelato was forgotten and when we asked for it, we got a different flavor that wasn’t even an option in the menu. I don’t know how their drinks are at night so that could be a different story.

We come to Neat for brunch every weekend. It’s our go-to spot for strong coffee, friendly service and good food. My favorite is the avocado on seeded toast.

Just amazing. Westport needed a consistently great place for coffee/brunch/midday catch ups, and Neat has delivered! Every friend I’ve taken here has loved it and returned on their own. I have occasionally come here twice in one day for the coffee. .. That’s how great their lattes are. The«creative» coffee drinks I haven’t loved so much, but it’s fun that they’re an option. If I were reviewing based on the food alone, I’d lean more towards 4 stars. The smoked salmon is great, the salads are awesome, the egg dishes leave something to be desired, and everything is sort of expensive for what you’re getting. But! The service, the ambiance, the concept, and the location more than make up for the food’s shortcomings.

This is a cute little café in a great location. Upon entering its warmly inviting and bright inside. Lots of white throughout. There is a large bar you can sit at or little tables to choose from. Chose to sit at a small round table in the corner. The waitress was friendly but she lacked knowledge about beer selection– maybe she was new? Unfortunately this place gets 2 stars off because of how much of a rip off it is. I ordered the Scandinavian breakfast and it literally only had 2 slices of smoked salmon alongside a couple spreads, and 3 pieces of multigrain bread! Definitely NOT worth $ 14.00! And my dad had the tomato soup which was $ 8.00 for a TINY bowl. And the chicken club sandwich which was good but doesn’t come with anything– again it’s tiny for the $ 11.00 ?? — A glass of white wine $ 11.00! I know it’s Westport and the prices are going to to be higher, but this is RIDICULOUS. Maybe if they fix their prices or at least give a little more food just so you don’t feel so ripped off. It almost seems like a cruel joke until you get the bill and realize it’s not. Lol Bottom line don’t go there hungry– it’s more like a cute place to grab a very expensive snack.

I like the idea of the place, but it is poorly executed… Good coffee and atmosphere, the food was decent, but the service was very poor. We felt completely ignored at our table and it took forever to get our coffee and to put our food orders in. I saw my latte sitting at the bar for 20 minutes before they finally brought it to my table. Will likely not return.

Service is outstanding. Coffee is strong. Had to add 2 sugars and milk to tame it a bit. Their latte is really good. The food was good, but a bit pricey. They offer free wifi — have to ask them for the password. Parking lot is small and only an hour limit which is fine if you’re grabbing a quick bite to eat, but not so much if you wany to spend time there to eat and socialize. The«bar» area is long and wide — not comfortable seating if you’re going to be there for awhile. The dining area is spacious and there’s plenty of seating considering it’s a small place. Not really ideal for groups.

Neat is a cute, modern neighborhood café with excellent coffee and service in downtown Westport. This 5-star review is solely based on the quality of the fully-loaded marble rye bagel with lox that I had here for breakfast. It was the best I’ve ever had. Period. And I consider myself a bagel snob. Why was it so good might you ask? The bagel was presented open-faced on a wooden cutting board with all the fixings. It had the perfect crisp: chewy ratio and texture. There was ample cream cheese and extremely fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, capers, and nearly 1⁄3 lb of salmon to devour. I was in heaven. My wife also couldn’t get over the quality of her trim(or skim) flat white, which was the best she’s had outside New Zealand. Simply put, we will be coming back here as soon as we return to Westport.

A simple and friendly brunch spot! The dishes provide a unique twist on basic brunch dishes. The bagel and lox platter is exceptional– the lox has a delicious spice that leaves your taste buds wanting more! Pop in for a caffe, Sunday brunch or just to check out this adorable spot in Westport!

Went for the first time yesterday and loved it. Food was amazing, coffee was amazing, the place is so cute. Only giving it 4 stars because our waiter did not come back to give us the check. We sat there waiting for him and finally got up and asked if we pay at the counter to which he said«I mean, you can.» Just a little annoying but otherwise absolutely love the place and will be going back for sure. Also the baristas are hot

been a few times, had coffee and a sandwich. coffee(hot or iced) was outstanding. sandwiches have all bene good. ok baked goods too. friendly staff. really should be 4 stars at least but the website is not up to date, the menu online shows many many things that sounded awesome but are no longer offered and when i asked the waiter he kind of laughed about it. not having an up to date menu online is worse than having no menu at all. if i was just talking about the coffee i have had here it would be 5 stars. parking lot is pretty small and shared with a few businesses, so if you go during the day when other things are open you may not be able to park.

Came here for a pre-graduation brunch with some friends. I thought parking would be hard in this area but I guess I got lucky because there were three open spots right in front when I pulled into the parking lot. First impression of the place was that it was very clean, modern, cute. My friend ordered a latte and bacon, egg and cheese. Both the drink and breakfast sandwich was delicious. I would say the food is a little on the expensive side but drinks are coffee drinks are a great value. They also have a full bar. Would definitely come back here again if I am in the area.

Obsessed with their lattes. Smoothest coffee I have ever had. The staff is awesome. The prices– pretty good for Westport living, but not Tara living. I think the concept here is awesome. Caffeine by day, booze by night… How«neat»… haha, get it?!
