Nicer than your average beach hut. They have the typical beach fair — hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, ice cream, candy. In addition, they offer options above and beyond the usual concession stand — fish/shrimp/clams and chips, cheeses and meats, deli style sandwiches, soups and chowders, Pinkberry smoothies, and much more. While the options are vast, the price tags are heavy. It’s good if you’re in a pinch, but I saw many families bringing their own food and snacks. I had the fish and chips, for ~$ 18, it was 3 small strips of an unknown white fish and fries. It was alright flavor wise, not worth the price. Service was friendly but super slow. Granted the place was packed because I went during the fourth of July fireworks display. Next time I’ll skip it and pack a lunch.

Stopped by for the first time with the kid I was babysitting. Standard beach food, but a little bit of a more extensive menu than just hamburgers and hot dogs. We got the fish sandwiches… surprised to find that it was fresh fish, not the standard frozen fish filet. The fries were pretty amazing! As far as beach food goes, you can’t go wrong at Joeys!

Joey’s is your typical beach-day food. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches… but they also have a variety of heartier and upscale sandwiches. However, the reason I go, and by far the best thing there… the lobster roll. It has been consistently voted the best lobster roll in Fairfield County and it is delicious. Unlike others that are mostly mayo and filler, this lobster roll is purely chunks of lobster. And of course it comes with a side of Joey’s AMAZING french fries. It is a little pricey at $ 14, BUT, for the amount of lobster you get… I still think it cannot be beat. Be prepared to wait for it in a long line in an incredibly hot building… but trust me… its worth it.
