The new go to bar in Westwood since all the other ones closed lol. It’s actually a fun place to be. Check out their drink specials(each day is different). I love Mikey and Nick the bartenders. Midwest warmth is hard to find out here. Nick makes a good old fashioned and Mikey is the guy you just want to be friends with. Chili isn’t bad, but if you’re getting food I’d go for tacos-fair price and tasty. Onion rings are on point. Lots of TV screens for sports games.

This is a good place to get a brew and bar food, burgers are good and they have a big selection of sandwiches. If your in the mood for chili this is the place! A big plus for me is the Barney’s Brew is always $ 4. Plus they have a rotating daily beer special for $ 4 also. If Sarah is your bar tender you will be treated great.

Barney’s Beanery, aka the only bar in Westwood besides Ralphs and Sepi’s, has become the go-to place for young college students who cannot afford an über. When you walk into Barney’s Beanery, you realize that it is definitely a sports bar with the most random clientele to ever be seen. You have a mix of young professionals drinking beer to avoid traffic, rowdy college students, and older folks who live in the area. Of course, 8⁄10 people who come to Barney’s live in the area or else they probably would not be at Barney’s Beanery. The bartenders are friendly– the saving grace of the bar. The drink menu is extensive and the food is fatty. There are more televisions than chairs in this bar. Of course, the move is typically to order a beer over a mixed drink, but to each their own. Karaōke is on Tuesdays(and maybe sometimes Thursdays? or I’m lying, who knows) and trivia night is on Wednesdays. It’s two stories, so there’s plenty of room, but with the closing of other bars it seems that this place gets packed pretty easily now. Typically, upstairs is way less crowded than downstairs. Additionally, good luck trying to find a seat on the day of a big game. Barney’s Beanery gets a 3⁄5 stars for being the only place UCLA students can go to in Westwood.

Food is good at a reasonable price at happy hour. Great for game day if you don’t come after tip off. If you do, good luck finding seats. Service is great. Parking gets difficult if there is slot going on in Westwood but can typically park in the lot across the street.

Definitely the hot place to be when they’ve got the NBA Warriors/Cavs plastered all over their tv’s, which are nicely placed so everyone in the house can see. The dark wooden ambiance made me feel like I was in a pirate ship with haphazard Christmas lights everywhere, but it was definitely quite a spectacle knowing everyone in the room was solely there for the game. People obviously have mixed feelings about Barney’s Beanery, and I’m glad I came on an «on» night because it’s really a full experience when you’ve got an enthusiastic crowd and great customer service. This review is for Mikey, our bartender, since we sat at the counter in front of the TV. Can’t tell you how genuinely cool he was, and I appreciated how often he’d ask us how we’re doing or if we needed anything. We ordered Racer and Stone IPA’s, which came out to $ 5 each, and were poured thoughtfully with reasonable amount of foam. Thank you for being so kind and attentive. Can’t say I’d come here for food, but BB has definitely made a good impression since it’s reminiscent of my undergrad days at UC Irvine’s pub. Hits close to home with so many students!

Slowest, mody, you can tell she hates her job bartender! Kendra took forever, was not friendly and we couldn’t wait to leave because we like being ignored. Never coming again

I come her quite often and haven’t had an issue with the service or food, but this time was the worst service I have literally ever had. Our server«Mary» didn’t attend to us after 30 minutes of being sat at our table and we had to go up to the bar to see where our server was and ask to be served. She came up and slammed our silverware on the table when she saw us and slammed our waters down when we asked for drinks. She got our orders wrong and didn’t check in once if we were doing okay. The food is great, but the service is probably the worst I’ve ever experienced. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone, not worth it.

Just your typical, average college bar here in Westwood(that caters to the UCLA Bruin population) haha. Pretty spacious with lots of room to move around and great vibes all around. I really enjoyed my time coming here, especially during my college years. It does get crowded at times, so do expect to see a lot of college students here. Or people coming off from work and looking for a place to chill with great company :) The selection of beer is alright but there are some great daily house special deals so do take advantage of that! Cheap bear is the way to go(in this case)! I haven’t tried their food yet but I’ll definitely check it out next time I come here with friends: D

Barney’s is always a good place to come and watch the sport and have a drink. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The menu is big and the meals are too. The food is good for a pub meal! You can’t go wrong with the sweet potato fries.

The restaurant was really nice. It had tons of license plates from all states which I thought was pretty cool. You walk in and you sit yourself. Service: It took us close to twenty minutes to have a waitress come up to our table and help us out. Soon after she brought us our waters, we asked for a couple more minutes to decide and she came back and we ordered. Our food took more than 20 minutes to come out. It took us another ten minutes after we asked for our bill for us to get it. The waitress was friendly. Overall, I felt like my friend and I waited too long to get any service at the beginning, hence, I will not be coming back to this location. Food: I ordered the avocado melt and maybe it was because at that point I was already starving, but I thought it was delicious.
Parking: It’s really hard to find street parking so I parked right across at the parking structure for $ 3.

Very basic place with ok bar food. Great tc channels and amazing coverage of international sports. That’s the only reason I go there.

The Al Pastor Taco is really good. The sweet pineapple and grilled onions were a wonderful contrast to the grilled pork. The Chili Cheese Fries(I chose Texas Style) were okay to me but I have never really liked chilli. Multiple people said it looked good and someone else ordered it after seeing mine, so it’s probably good for chilli fans and I should stop trying to order chilli and calling it only«okay». I came here for Byte of Science and Shakeela took care of everyone although it was really disorganized(since we’re multiple parties of people arriving at different times for the talk) and didn’t seemed fazed by how many times people shouted at her for napkins, water, or utensils. Thanks, Shakeela! :)

This location is in the heart of Westwood Village meaning lots and lots of students. Many students come here because it’s one of the few places where it’s more of a sports bar but you can come here if you’re under 21. I felt old and I’m barely 25. And a Trojan. The atmosphere is fun and it’s two-stories. We always end up getting the nachos, mozzarella sticks, and a bunch of beers. The service is alright but it’s always packed so I understand. It’s a great place to see a sports game! Fight on, Bruins ;)

Probably one of the top sports bar near a college campus(besides Sepi’s). Especially with all of the dive bars gone now that O’Hara’s is closing, expect more students to be crowding around Barney’s. It’s pretty spacious, with two floors(three if you include going below the main floor for the bathrooms) and plenty of TVs to watch a game. Upper floor has a shuffleboard table! There’s been plenty of times where strangers would come up and challenge my friends and me to a game. Super fun vibes all around. Super fun crowd. There are also daily house specials where certain drinks are about half off. Definitely check those out. Shocktops are the Friday specials, so come in and save some of your hard earned money on cheap beers with your friends!

Definitely do not go for the food, or for lunch. Midnight shenanigans is definitely the way to go. I believe either on Tuesday or Thursday, they have karaōke nights which are super fun and wild. Bartenders are total eye candy, but you know, people always tend to look better in the dark. Dranks aren’t bad, I’d suggest the California Mule.

The food was good not exuberant. We were a party of 5 and per person it came out out to be $ 20 approx. we ordered an appetizer a mixed platter and the items were pretty average and some were deep fried little too much. I ordered a 10″ pizza and chicken was sparingly used on the dish. Checking out with my other colleagues they felt the food was ok. The service was rushed it is different when you are promptly served from being rushed. As we were having our main course our check was served without even being asked if we need dessert. Too bad :) Overall if you are there and want a quick bite u can step in hit I won’t drive out there to just try this pace. Given the interior and the environment it looks definitely like a good happy hour bar to hang out for drinks

Had a great experience at Barney’s. This joint is definitely a college-style watering hole. Great pop culture littered walls and tables and a menu so versatile, you’d think you had access to five restaurants. Between the music, the live trivia games and other sundry activities, this place is a favorite in the area.

Went here Friday early PM to meet colleagues for dinner. I ordered 3 double shots of Don Julio, and baby back ribs full rack. Pros: 1) All angles at the table had a view of multiple TV’s. Very good for a sports bar(+1) 2) Very large selection of beer 3) Portions on the food was very generous. Cons: 1) Our waitress as well as the other staff were super nice, but overall service was very slow.(–1) 2) Baby back ribs had probably one of the least tender meat I have ever had(–1) 3) Very far from the house, and have to pay for parking(–1) I would not go here if I was paying for dinner.
