Ordered mild(can choose how spicy you like it) galbi soontofu which comes with a decent bowl of rice. I generally like to put some of the soup in the rice. The meat was chewy and soft, however mild can still be pretty spicy for those who don’t usually eat spicy food. The meal comes with side dishes and a small yogurt or shaved ice dessert. Needless to say dinner was satisfyingly full.

I personally thought this was a quaint little Korean restaurant. The banchan that came with our meal was pretty decent, and most of the food was amazing. However, there were a couple of issues to me… First, the chajangmyun was not great. It was very, VERY lackluster compared to other chajangmyun places. There is also no option to switch it to gan-chajangmyun(or at least there wasn’t when I was there.) Second, the prices for the barbecue is crazy expensive. I’m not TOO surprised about that but it was still disappointing. All in all, I would say avoid the chajangmyun and you will have a great time here.

Awesome korean cuisine. Nice atmosphere. The best I have been to. Side dishes. were the tastiest amongst all my experiences with korean restaurants. They even gave two complimentary egg curd dish, or whatever it was called. which was smooth, moist, and tasty. Everyone in my company enjoyed the experience and the food and we were all sure that we would visit again.

Service was courteous, attentive, and smooth. Food was excellent! Dumplings were fried to perfection, buchejeon(korean pancake) was flavorful and had a slight crunch, our jaja myung(black sauce and noodles) and udon dishes were tasty, and the banchan(little side dishes) were delicious and plentiful. Try Kloud. I’ve never had Korean beer and am now a fan. We will be coming back!

I’m so happy to see a good Korean restaurant in Connecticut. This is the best Korean restaurant in CT by far. Hoping they stay consistent. Whoever is cooking the food knows how to make homey Korean food with minimal to no MSG. Soondobu has a beef broth that was not the typical spice/msg mix other places use. Definitely going to be a regular.

I went here with my girlfriend and we got the chap chae, kimchi soup, and scallion pancake type dish. First, they come out with an appetizer dishes that comsisted of kimchi, sprouts, spicy tofu, spicy cucumber and spicy fish balls. All of these were great with attractive flavorings. The service was exceptional. The waiter was very attentative. Filled our water glasses every time they they were empty. They checked on us to see how we liked the food. Very generous portions and the refilled our appetizers. I highly recommend this place for the tasty food, and service.

Yes, yes, yes. Angry Tofu has the most authentic Korean food I’ve had in this fair state. The menu has a lot of variety, and it’s definitely for the adventurous. You really cannot go wrong with the wings or the bulgogi(go for pork). This spot can definitely get packed. Sometimes it feels like the restaurant is under-staffed vs. too many patrons, but it’s definitely popular with Koreans and non-Koreans alike.

Highly recommend this place for Korean food. It was just the two of us, so we ordered the dolsut bibimbap and the spicy pork bulgogi. The sides came out first. Although there were less side dishes than other Korean places, these dishes were really delicious. It was a good combination of tofu, kimchee, pickled cucumbers, and fish cake. The dolsut bibimbap and the spicy pork were also great. Service was prompt and the order came out pretty fast. I’m glad to find this place so I can try some other dishes next time. Prices were reasonable and lunch looks to be half the price which is even better.

One of the cutest little restaurants I’ve been to in ct. Friendly and fast service. As a couple, We arrived late in the evening but the staff were still happy to serve us. Clean and laid back environment. Small intimate restaurant with tasty fresh dishes. Had the pork bibimbap. Delicious! I highly recommend this place! Not many Korean restaurants in ct so this place is a must!

So, we actually tried this restaurant due to all the great Unilocal reviews and boy were we glad we did! The name of it does not describe the super yummy variety & content!(It sounded a little too vegan for all the meat & seafood they have). This is our third & fourth time here and it never disappoints! We just love being greeted with a smile and always seated right away. Then we love receiving the five refillable bowls of fun side dishes to sample. Hubby loves the fish cakes & tofu especially.(They vary slightly, check photos.) The owner, Katie from Glastonbury spoke to us about making fresh side dishes twice a day. She always comes out to say hello. They work hard here and it shows! It was hopping tonight(a random Tuesday) our waiter actually RAN to refill my water, which is my personal litmus test of attentive service. I drink a LOT. Service was very dedicated & exceptional. Food is always perfect. I like all the soft tofu soups and the bi bim bap rice dishes I’ve tried. Prices are reasonable, better for lunch. Portions are nice. Complimentary dessert is great, too! We’ve received the delicious shaved ice or sweet cinnamon teas. A nice ending touch to a happy meal. You can’t go wrong here.

I likey! On one not so lovely New England winter day, we were feeling rather glum. What better to warm us up than some Korean? Not wanting to break the bank, we stumbled upon this tiny gem in Wethersfield. Despite being oddly located adjacent to Dunkin Donut, Angry Tofu manages to serve up some delicious and savory Korean cuisine with a fun twist! We started off with a round of their only Shoju, and for $ 10 — I was pumped! After some blissful small talk, we started off with their gun mandu(fried dumplings stuffed with a mixture of beef, pork and vegetables) and Korean-style chicken wings. The dumplings were tasty but the wings were just OK. Although the banchan wasn’t as diverse or as plentiful as other Korean eateries, they had no problem generously refilling our kimchi and pickled jalapenos(my personal faves) After some bouts of laughter and conversation, we tackled our dinners which consisted of kimchi-jigae, soon-tofu, and tofu kimchi jaeyuk(pork sauteed with kimchi and tofu) All of which are great to share by the way! Spice levels are accurate, so order accordingly. If you’re feeling dangerous and up for a glorious sweat session, opt for«spicy»! To top off our food coma and walk home our food babies, our friendly server brought us a sample of cold cinnamon tea to finish things off, ahhh FYI Mon — Sun: 11am-10pm

Was excited by the reviews but the food is bland. No flavor and no spice. I got a shrimp dish and the shrimp were seriously small less than 1′ in diameter shrimp. There were skimpy on the shrimp, too. I was expecting those nice big beefy shrimp that I get at my local Thai place. Food did come out hot. Like burn the roof of your mouth hot. So beware. Prices aren’t too shabby but the food was just meh. The service was very good, however. I cannot fault them for their attentiveness and efficiency.

Wow, Angry Tofu surpassed all my expectations. My boyfriend and I went right when they opened, we just got out of class and extremely hungry. We decided on splitting the lunch combo of L. A Galbi, seafood soon-tofu stew and bibimbap. It was a good amount of food that filled us both. The Galbi was tender and came out sizzling on a hot stone plate, the soon-tofu was delicious, not too salty and the bibimbap was tasty. The side dishes were amazing as well, our waiter refilled our side dishes as often as we had asked. Overall, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

OMG… This was so good. Great place to go and try Korean Cuisine. The only thing you will miss is that they don’t have the grills so you can cook your food at the table. We each ordered something different and all shared. And, if this your first time having korean I would say go with a group so you can try a little of everything. We were promptly greeted as soon as when entered the restaurant brought to our table and given menu’s and asked if we would like anything to drink. We asked several questions and made our plans as to what we would all like to try and placed our order. We ordered Dak Gang Jung off the Appetizers section, Bulgogi with Seafood Soft Tofu Soup off the Combination Section, Jukumi off the Specials Section and Seafood Dolsot Bibimbap off of the Rice Dishes Section. Once our order was placed the waitress came over to our table with the Banchan plates which are small plates of pickled items meant to accompany your meal, you are supposed to take a little bit of the banchan with your bite of food. For Banchan we received Spicy fresh pickled cucumbers, lightly batter fried slices of sweet white yam, assorted slices of fish cake, fresh Kimchee, Marinated tofu, bean sprouts mixed with sesame oil and sweet pepers. These can be refilled so just ask. If you’ve never had Korean the Bulgogi is a great place to start it’s thinly cooked slices of marinated beef the best way to describe it is mild teriyaki like in flavor another great option is Bibimbap it’s protein, veggies and rice in a hot clay pot. Don’t put your hands on that Pot it’s really HOT and your going to burn yourself if you do. We all loved the Dak Gang Jung which are basically off the hook fried chicken wings with a sweetheat tangy sauce and the Jukumi which is baby octopus in a spicy sauce with veggies so good! And as I said Bibimbap & Bulgogi are always delicious and we enjoyed Angry Tofu’s versions of these dishes. The only thing that wasn’t completely finished was the Seafood Soft Tofu Soup a little to fishy for us. Next time I think we will go with the Kimchee version of soft tofu soup instead. Once our meals were finished we all received a complimentary cup of a sweet cinnamon flavored beverage with 3 pinenuts floating in it. It was very refreshing. We will definitely be coming for another visit soon…

O-M-G! I called in the afternoon to make a reservation for 3 for that night, arrived and was promptly seated. The first thing I noticed was how nice the owners are… they were genuinely excited to welcome us into their restaurant. We were seated, asked for our beverage choices, looked at the menu and placed our order. Reading the menu and making a choice was hard because everything sounded amazing. We ordered: Steamed Dumplings Chicken wings in special sauce Bulgogi with dumpling and soft tofu soup(ordered extra spicy!) Dak Bulgogi with Beef soup Fried Rice Shrimp Tang Soo Yuk OMG! Everything was amazing! The Beef was so tender and savory, it wasn’t greasy like other places I’ve been. The soups were fantastic, especially my extra spicy dumpling soup. I let the dumplings sit in the soup, finished the tofu and broth first, then ate the dumplings… MMMMMM! There was so much food at the table — and we are big guys, but were so FULL. My other half hadn’t even touched his rice and one of the owners who came to check on us, the wife, was teasing him about not even having had rice yet! hahahaha! The owners each checked on us at least twice and our waitress was very attentive to our table. The food came out very quickly so we were able to dig right in! I HIGHLYHIGHLY recommend this place and will be bringing more people with me next time. We can’t wait to go back!

Came back here a few days ago with my family. Setting: Unfortunately, we were seated at some shady corner of the restaurant. I knew the service will not be the same at this point because they will probably forget that we were there. Anyway, Angry Tofu looks nice and clean. Service: Although the the waitress did no check on us as often as my last visit(most likely cause of where we were seated), she was very nice! She got us everything we asked for. Food: We were a group of 6. We ordered Haemul Jungol(J1), LA Galbi(S1), and Bokkum Jjam Bbong(S15). All were very good and filled us up. The only thing I didn’t like was the whole squid. I wish they would cut it up cause just looking at it isn’t all appealing… Along with our meals, were the usual side dishes. I love the fish cake and these fried sweet potato! Dessert: For dessert, they have cinnamon tea(can really taste the cinnamon) and shaved ice(had strawberry flavoring and red beans). Both are complimentary! Overall: I really enjoyed the food here and my family had a great time. I will be back Advice: Avoid the shady corner I mentioned! Next to their front entrance as you walk in, it’s to the left. Insist on sitting somewhere else or you’ll be forgotten!!!

I almost never give 5 stars after only one visit to a restaurant but Angry Tofu is a cut above the ordinary; their in house made Banchan and Kimchi is not only aesthetically pleasing but downright mouth watering delicious. There is a noticeable difference in their food preparations that signals culinary excellence and dedication to a standard of strict authenticity. My Kimchi Jjigae, Kimchi Stew, with tofu, pork belly and fresh mushrooms was an exceptionally well balanced and delicious execution of that Korean classic. The service was excellent both waiter and waitress were there when you needed them and were not obtrusive in any way. Luncheon portions were more than adequate and priced accordingly and the complimentary cinnamon tea at the end of the meal was not only refreshing but a classy luncheon gesture. This little eatery says lets do it again and again when I am in the area!

I was a little worried at first because there were only two cars parked in front but the inside was almost packed(there’s a bigger parking lot behind) The atmosphere is very upbeat with mostly young workers. It’s almost a crossover between a dine in restaurant and fast food to go. I ordered seafood soon tofu which came out great. And tastes almost exactly the same as the one in Seoul BBQ(I also saw the same owner there so maybe owned under the same family?). It also came with side dishes which you could ask for refill of. The rice came in a stone hot which I thought was very cute however it did make it very dry. To sum up, I can’t wait to return to try more dishes!

My girlfriend took me here at the advice of her friend. We ordered a pork belly combo with the mixed seafood/beef tofu soup and she got the dumplings and rice cake soup. Before we got our dishes, the side dishes came out and of the ones we had, we really enjoyed the tiny dried shrimp out of everything we had. They were sweet and spicy and overall very flavorful. As far as the entrees, I thought the dumpling soup broth was very good and the rice cakes were very soft. The dumplings in the soup had a weird flavor though, which I wasn’t the hugest fan of. For my pork belly entrée, which came out on a sizzling plate, I felt it was very underseasoned and heavily needed some salt or dipping sauce. The tofu soup had some very good flavor, but I felt the ratio of soup to tofu was very off. Oddly enough, there was too much tofu and very little soup. In this case, I felt like I was eating tofu with some sauce. After dinner, we got a complimentary Korean dessert. They gave us the cold cinnamon tea and my girlfriend politely asked for the shaved ice(reason why we went actually). After tasting both, I preferred the cold cinnamon tea. Overall, I felt like this is a very good deal for the food they give you. There were some flaws to the food, but the price point makes it worth overlooking.
