People are always helpful and I’m happy to avoid the big box store where you can’t get waited on a lot

This place is awesome. I went in looking for a little connector piece that could hold together two rods (like a hollow cylindrical piece of plastic, basically). The gentleman on duty in the store helped me figure out that none of the PVC or metal plumbing supplies were quite the right size, they were either too big or too small to fit.
I was ready to give up, but then he said that if I would leave one of the rods with him, he would take it home that evening and use one of his tools to shave a bit off the inside of the pieces to make them just the right size. The next day he called me to report that the pieces were ready. I went to pick them up and he charged me no more than the regular cost of the pieces despite his special work to make them fit. You do not find this sort of customer service anymore — he really went above and beyond. Bravo, Wethersfield True Value Hardware!
