Horrible. Service was very friendly, but not very attentive. Didn’t check in with us after meals were served. Asked for poached medium eggs, whites were runny and the ‘potato pancake’ which is just shredded potato was just about raw. Couldn’t eat it. Basically paid $ 12 for a meal I didn’t eat. My breakfast consisted of two slices of tomato, about 4 leaves of spinach and a couple of sweet potato home fries. When I told the waitress she replied that she would let the manager know. $ 12! They are ridiculously over priced. $ 3 for a coffee, $ 3 for a soda. How the situation should have been handled: meal removed from bill and an apology. Had it not been for my boyfriend, who would have been embarrassed, I would have said something to the manager. If there was a 0 star I would have used it.

I had occasion to eat here with my family for dinner, and breakfast while staying at the attached hotel. We all enjoyed both meals, the waitress was a bit of a character that some might not appreciate too much, she was griping to us about the traffic she encountered on the way to work, but I can enjoy a good traffic battle story once in a while I guess. Its kind of old fashioned inside, which is probably the atmosphere they are going for it is a tourist area where people come to see how the pilgrims lived so it seems totally appropriate. I would eat here again if I found myself in the area…

My second time to this location and the second time that the service has been sub-par. The food was fine, the service was very slow and un-attentive. The bathrooms were also a «wreck.» I have a feeling that they are busy because of their convenient location and they really take their clientele for granted. To the owners, update and clean up your restrooms and add to staff. The service was beyond slow. Again, my second time at this location and the same issues with service and the restrooms. When you are too lazy to refill the paper towel dispenser and just leave the large roll on the restroom sink… you are lazy and understaffed. When your drinks sit empty… again…understaffed. This was my second and LAST time at this location; hopefully the owners will get on the«stick» and make some improvements by adding staff and keeping the restrooms up to par.

Cozy atmosphere and great comfort food! Have been here several times for Thanksgiving and Easter dinner and it never disappoints. Just like Mom’s home cooking.

I wish they had 0 stars. Average flavored food, small luncheon portion for dinner plates prices. Two small pieces of fried fish, McDonald’s size patties, $ 16

I went there with my mom for brunch yesterday. It was quit crowded however we got seated promptly. I haven’t been there for awhile so it was a nice treat. I ordered an omelet wrap which was filling with a side of fruit. My mom ordered the apple walnut pancakes which could be a dessert. I had a bite or maybe two. The coffee was excellent. They serve breakfast until 3 pm. This is a cozy New England style chain restaurant.

We went here on a whim last minute for a quick bite — were new to the area and figured we would give it a shot. In all honestly, we were not big fans. We had a late lunch, and it seems like the kind of place where all the older folks go for their early bird specials. Food was at best average, but it took forever to get drinks and food, despite ordering very simple items.

Unfortunately my Mom passed away recently and we needed a function room where our friends and family could gather after the funeral. My Mom was a frequent diner at the Restaurant and it was an easily accessible location for all involved. From my first contact with Nancy the manager to the great function waitress’ and staff, the function room, dinner choices and service were all fantastic. I had to make changes to the number of guests and time of arrival on the day of the funeral and Nancy handled the changes smoothly and with no problems. With everything going on that day it lowered my anxiety level instantly. The room and food were fantastic and the waitstaff including Janet and Leslie handled our every request with ease. On a very tough day all the folks at the Hearth and Kettle made our Family and friends celebration of Our Mom’s life a great day. Thank you.

Recently had my daughter’s bridal shower in a private room here. This was on a busy Sunday morning and we had about 35 people. Great food, the room just right and service outstanding!

This morning was my first time here. The management seemed very nice and involved. The ambiance is cute… Kind of like Cracker Barrel. We went for breakfast and I’m disappointed that the food was mediocre at best. My eggs were bland, potatoes were greasy in a bad way, my bacon was not crispy as I had ordered, and my toast came cold. What was most disappointing was the service. Our waitress did not come back to check on us for a very long time. She seemed annoyed that I asked for another orange juice and butter for my toast. My water was empty for most of the meal and although I tried to get her attention several times, she continually ignored us. She dropped the check without saying anything, while we were still eating, and ignored me when I tried to ask for more water again! I waited tables for several years, and I get that everyone has a bad day, but this was just ridiculous.

I came here with my mom and sis over the weekend for breakfast and was surprised on how large this place was! You wouldn’t be able to tell from the outside but its pretty big! The décor kind of reminded me of cracker barrel, wooden furniture and panels. The staff is extremely friendly and very accommodating! We all are coffee drinkers so of course that was the first thing we ordered. They came back with 3 small carafes of coffee for us!!! EACH one of us had carafe of freshly made hot delicious coffee! So we didn’t have to keep asking them for a refill because we could do it ourselves! The three of us all got the plantation special which comes with eggs, sausage, bacon, and homefries. I wanted my eggs over hard and they gave it to me over easy but they took it back and returned it with over hard eggs and more bacon in no time(and who doesn’t love more bacon yumm). My mom had a side of hash brown which were soooo delish! They topped it off with some scallions which was a perfect touch to this dish. I had a side of pancakes and they were hot and fluffy just how i like it. they were bigger than average size too. I’m surprised i finished my ENTIRE meal with no leftovers but that just goes to show you how much i enjoyed my meal. Our bill was about $ 40 bucks and with all the food we got, that was more than affordable!

This place reminds me of a lodge during snowboarding season. It was cozy and comfortable in there and service was great. We got seated and served right away on a Saturday morning even though the waitress that was supposed to take care of us wasn’t in for her shift yet. Hearth and Kettle made sure we were being taken care of. I ordered the Nor’easter which is similar to eggs Benedict but instead of hollandaise sauce it was just cheese sauce. Was kind of hesitant to order it but so glad I did! I also ordered the blackberry mimosa instead of the usual orange juice mimosa. I suggest sticking with the orange juice mimosa. Our waitress was nice enough to offer to switch out my blackberry for an orange one once she heard I didn’t really like it. I took off one star because we sat in a booth and between the table and the seat, there was way too much room. It wasn’t comfortable for me since I had to sit forward and my back didn’t touch the back of the seat at all. I would definitely come back again but will probably not choose booth seating.

Great breakfast or brunch spot. The food is always delicious. This is a very popular place on weekends, may want to call ahead and make a reservation. But for a spur of the moment idea, the wait isn’t usually too long(25 minutes tops) But worth the wait. Once seated, servers are very attentive to you and once you place your order food comes out pretty quickly. Great place to bring the family. ***I highly suggest the pancakes, especially the blueberry!

I was so happy with Hearth and Kettle accommodating a family gathering this past weekend. At first I made a reservation for 14 and then gradually more and more family members were added until we ended up with a group of 35 people. Hearth and Kettle set aside a group of tables for us and set the tables with white table cloths. The manager Steve was very kind and patient with our requests. The waitresses were understanding about the group’s desire for separate checks. The food was delicious and the staff could not have been nicer. Thanks Hearth and Kettle!

I was disappointed when we eat here recently. The food was not very good. The clam chowder was lukewarm and made my wife sick. I won’t be going back.

Breakfast was more than an hour and a half to receive. The waitress apologized but did not comp us. She said the short order cook was having issues and that she had alerted the manager who also apologized but did not comp us.

It’s a chain, along the same lines of Cracker Barrel, but it’s REALLYGOOD. - Went here for late breakfast on a Sunday afternoon. The place is busy, but it’s a big place and you’ll get seated no problem. The décor and setup reminded me of a Cracker Barrel, and it’s similar in that it’s a chain, but also has really good food. - Big menu with things like cinnamon-bun pancakes(which I got). They were excellent. Shockingly good. Side of hash browns were several crispy disks much like the hash browns from McDonalds. Only these were better. Bacon was also great — had a smokiness to it. Eggs were excellent — I think they cooked them in butter, which is completely awesome. For coffee you each get your own little insulated carafe — convenient and cool. - I’d go again in a heartbeat!

this was my first experience at a hearth ‘n kettle. let me be clear: the stars of this review are based on the food only, not service. please read on: this location of hearth ‘n kettle is on my boyfriend’s way home from the airport. as a frequent traveler, he sometimes arrives in MA in need of breakfast. this is one of his go-to spots. being supportive, and knowing we were in the area, i agreed to go here this morning. now, i am aware of those sort of traditional and/or intangible things that we all hold so dear. and i’m certain there are beloved spots of mine where i’ve taken him that have not lived up to his expectations, based on my introduction. that said– here’s my honest take: i expected hometown, homemade, quaint, old-fashioned new england. i found your every day ordinary, well– friendly’s. yes– friendly’s. as a former waitress of the chain, and with an up close view of the kitchen & server station, i can tell you with absolute certainty that this restaurant is a glorified, regional version of friendly’s– if, possibly, with more homemade dishes and less frozen products. possibly. our server was actually the bartender, carmen. this woman is a marvel and is really the only reason that i enjoyed my experience here. she is beyond polite, professional, and friendly. i could not have been happier with our service. it took awhile for her to process our payment at the end of our meal, but she was responsible for not only all the tables in the bar area, but the bar top as well. clearly– not her fault. i’m notorious for eating lunch and dinner foods at breakfast time so, when we arrived at 11:45 and the menu said lunch/dinner didn’t start until noon, i resigned myself to breakfast. there are your usual suspects: eggs with sides, omelettes, omelette wraps, combination platters, pancakes, etc. i’m a huge fan of wraps, so i was leaning toward one of those, when i happened to notice what looked like a sandwich with french fries up in the window(we were literally about five feet from the kitchen window where servers pick up their food). when carmen asked us if we were ready to order, i inquired about the sandwich and fries and she related, oh, yes– the full menu is available. hey– hearth ‘n kettle: update your menu! if i had known that, i would have only looked at lunch. having already decided upon breakfast, i continued with my order of the baby bella omelette wrap, which was a mix of baby bella mushrooms, broccoli, onions, tomatoes, and peppers, along with cheddar and swiss cheeses. i opted to go with hash browns(done very well on the flat top) as opposed to home fries, since i did not want my potatoes deep fried. i also added a side of sausage. the filling of my wrap was tasty enough and had a good amount of cheese, but the flour wrap itself was completely soggy, which made it tough for the construction of the wrap to stay together(also not the greatest mouth-feel). my hash browns were shiny and looked like they had been deep fried, which was confirmed by carmen when she stopped by to check on our food. she graciously offered to have them re-done, but i knew the reason they fried them was to speed up the browning process which, at halfway through our meal, was not something i now wanted to wait for. this place is fine if you don’t mind a greasy spoon without imagination. however, i was left wanting a lot more. if you do go, find out whether or not carmen is working and sit wherever she is. at least you won’t be disappointed in the service. one last thing– for a classic new england family restaurant, i found the loud, latin music playing in the bathroom rather odd, and out of place…
