Peppercornz on Main — Weymouth, MA — 6÷22÷2016 Easy to get to and the convenience of online booking which is how I found them… My server Lauren was great! Friendly, accommodating and made the evenings recommendations… This is what she does so I have to trust that she’ll know what’s best and let me tell you, her suggestions were perfect. Wonderful focaccia bread baked fresh in house served with a garlic, herb and crushed pepper olive oil… Did I mention how wonderful the bread was?! Wow! Home made chips with ranch & bleu dipping sauces… They’re normally served sans the dipping sauces but I asked for them… Its just one of those things you should have… Absolutely delicious! Eggplant Rollups… Their take one he classic rollatini… Roasted red pepper, garlic, sage cream cheese rolled in lightly battered eggplant with warm marinara… Scallops Arena… Sea scallops lightly pan fried in a Marsala, sweet vermouth sauce, with chopped tomatoes and bits of prosciutto, over zucchini pasta, served on a bed of fresh baby spinach and finished with crumbled goat cheese… Delicious AND healthy, what a concept! They offer this with either scallops, shrimps or both… Rich, flavourful and different… Of all the places I go, this is my first offering of zucchini pasta… The sauce was so good that I ate is as a soup after the scallops and vegetables were gone… Truly amazing and worth coming back for. The owner, Linda is also the executive chef and comes out to make sure that you’ve thoroughly enjoyed your meal, which I most definitely did. The important lesson here… Don’t judge a book by its cover… It may look like a pizza place from the outside but I assure you, what comes out of Linda’s kitchen is truly special… You can just feel the love in her cuisine… I will be back!

I attended my niece’s first communion party there recently in their extra room. They did a wonderful job and the eggs benedict was yummy and the other 4 – 5 items also tasted great. The waitresses were super helpful too. It helped make the day even more special. A great place to have a gathering for 20 – 35 people!

Just had my wedding rehearsal dinner here tonight in their function room to the left. The room was lovely. There were four rectangular tables arranged in a square so everyone could see each other no matter where they were seated. I love the soft yellow stucco walls with adorable food quotes tastefully painted on them. The soft lighting was just perfect. Not too dark but not too bright. You’d think the lead waitress was family the way she was so excited for my fiancé and me. She was extremely attentive and friendly. The food itself was amazing as always. We started with a delicious mixed greens salad with a balsamic dressing and bread that was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside followed by a choice of gnocchi and chicken parm. Both choices were delicious. I got the gnocchi and tasted my fiancé’s chicken parmesan. The portions were just right. For dessert, we had a full menu. I ordered the vanilla bean whoopie pie which was way too big for one person. The ice cream was delicious as was the soft cake of the whoopie pie. I will most definitely be back and highly, highly recommend using them for future functions!

Such a dissapointment. I dont like to give bad reviews but I cant help but wish I knew better before going. Food was bad from start to finish, even the bread was bellow average. Toasted raviolis seem like something taken out of the freezer and dumped in a deep fryer. Chicken parm maybe the worst i have had and chicken broccoli alfredo and edible but nothing i would want again. Its too bad because the place itself is nice and the sever was also nice. They need a new chef to say the least.

Very disappointed. The antipasto was lettuce and rolled meat. The pasta was so over done it tasted like soggy paste. The waitress did come over and took our meals back to the kitchen. She returned with 2 new plates of food, same soggy pasta. The owner did come over and did not charge us for the meals, she was very nice. If you are an Italian restaurant you must know how to cook pasta. My review is harsh because they should know how to cook pasta. I can forgive the first mistake but to send our food back to the kitchen and return with the same over cooked pasta is something more systemic.

Loved our meal tonight. What made it special was Barb at the bar. She was so attentive and the food was amazing. She introduced us to other couples sitting around us and it felt like eating with family. I had the shortrib risotto and my girl had the warm veggie salad. The shortrib risotto was exceptional my tip of the hat to the chef. My girl is vegan and said she enjoyed the salad. I will say the zucchini was grilled and awesome. Will definitely be back.

Had our first dinner at Peppercornz yesterday and we enjoyed our meals so much I was moved to comment(bolognese and boneless ribs). The service was excellent and the food OUTSTANDING! Already looking forward to another visit.

Because of location convenience, we dine here regularly. The Scallop Amerina dish has got to be the best and most flavorful one on the menu. It is superb. However, no matter what dish we order, they consistently over cook the pasta. If the pasta was al dente, I would give them a 4 — 5 star rating. The last several times we’ve been there we also noted that the chicken pieces that were tossed in to the pasta dishes were also over cooked. Easy to rectify.

We had a wonderful baby shower with 20 people at Peppercornz! The function room was beautiful. We had a brunch buffet, and the food was amazing. We had french toast casserole, veggie frittata, hash browns, sausage, salad, fruit salad, bagels and muffins. Far more than enough food, and they were kind enough to pack up all the leftovers to send home with us. The owners were extremely accommodating with our craft activities, games and decorations. They really went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. Their price was very reasonable and they did not charge for extras like plating the cake. Excellent place for a function!

We were traveling through the Boston area these last 2 weeks and were fortunate to meet up with an old friend who picked the perfect place to take us to dinner — Peppercornz on Main. It was a delightful experience. I lived in Naples for 4 years in my former career(USN), so I was very excited about the choice of cuisine. Appearance the place has a ambiance of its own. All walls have some writing that touch the heart and make you feel very welcomed. The staff was awesome. We were fortunate to go behind the scenes and check out the kitchen and meet some of the staff. Linda(Chef) and her sister shared stories about their grandparents being from Italy and It was just a perfect fit for me. After looking at the menu of some really great entrees, we settled on 3 for us and were further excited because Linda had sent out some other appetizers and selections all the way through desert. The gnocchi appetizer is truly amazing and very much worth trying. The pumpkin ravioli was awesome and a great entrée for the fall season. The eggplant parmesan is cooked very well with scrumptious marinara sauce. The deserts included Pumpkin cheese cake, lemon ice box cake, and cannolis. All to die for. I only had one complaint and directed it to the waitress when she ATTEMPTED to remove the desert plates off the table and I told her I had not finished licking them, most especially the Pumpkin Cheesecake. Great job staff. Definitely worth the trip.

I had a particularly awkward conversation once when attempting to order takeout from this restaurant. During my lunch hour one day, I perused Peppercornz take-out menu for something that struck my fancy. I found what I wanted, and called the restaurant to ask how much it would be to order the Bleu Ravioli. The waitress(or hostess, or manager, whoever she was) told me that that item is only available for special orders, in other words, it is only available when ordered in large quantities(for catering). I asked her, was she sure? Because the menu I was holding had Bleu Ravioli listed as one of their main entrees. No, no, she said; that wasn’t right. Maybe I had an old menu, but that dish was not available unless I was ordering from the *catering* menu. I was dubious, but I did not press. I simply chose to order my lunch elsewhere. A quick check of the menu posted on the website later on confirmed my suspicion: that this particular waitress(or hostess, or manager) had no idea what she was talking about, and the Bleu Ravioli was indeed a current single entrée, readily available to public. How did this happen? Poor training? Willful ignorance of your own restaurant’s publicly posted menu? An unwillingness to simply check with the manager or kitchen staff on duty to see if it was available? All three, you say? My money could have been yours that day, Peppercornz. As for my «dining in» experience, I have done so twice. The service has been underwhelming, but fine. I find the food quality varies quite a bit depending on what you order. Overall, this restaurant is very iffy.

We came here because it was featured o. The phantom gourmet. The pasta as everyone is saying, is over cooked, and in the case of my wife’s mushroom ravioli, I’d was way too thick as well. She had the ravioli with scallops in Alfredo. The Alfredo was extremely heavy and bland. I ordered two apps: The gnocchi and short rob. Which were both small portions of entrées. The gnocchi were basically Mac and cheese. Not even good Mac and cheese, very unexciting, would never order again. The short ribs over risotto were not terrible. They come with no bone and the flavor was just ok. Everything was really heavy. The service was fine, but if I am going to spend near $ 80(including tip and two glasses of wine) I expect a good meal, was not impressed.

Pretty much standard local Italian faire, our server although pleasant seemed to forget a lot, ordered meatballs as an app, never saw them, ordered drinks that came way later and the place wasn’t that busy. The food was ok, i thought the pasta was over cooked but the sauces were good and tasted very fresh. Good local spot, friendly staff.

I enjoyed their chicken broccoli alfredo very much. The sauce was creamy and full of flavor. The complimentary bread and oil is also very good. The wait staff was very efficient and friendly.

I ordered a groupon for this place weeks ago and decided to use it this weekend. There was no wait at all which is always a plus on a Saturday night. There are two dining areas. One is the main dining room and the other seems like a function hall. I have no idea if that doubles as another dining room when its not in use but overall I was a little surprised at how small the dining area was. While it was small I never felt cramped or on top of people. Overall the place looked nice and I was comfortable there. My wife ordered the Salmon and she said it was good. I ordered the sausage cacciatore with penne. I will admit the sausage cacciatore was very good. It was a generous sized portion of food. So, overall have zero issues with the food. It was enjoyable. They do lose marks on the service and price. The waitress was extremely nice. The problem was the service was a bit slow. Took a little while to get the drinks, a while to get the bread, a while to get the food.(which I understand is not her fault) and a little while to get the check and pay. It was not just my table either, seems like everybody was having the same issues as well. As for the price; I found it a bit expensive. We ordered three items: Salmon, $ 26.00, My food was $ 16.00,(I had a water for my drink) and wine $ 8.00.(I did have a $ 25.00 groupon that I paid $ 13.00 for) plus tip a $ 10.00 tip, which truthfully was a generous 20% tip considering how slow the service was. So with no groupon the total would have been $ 60.00. Overall it was a decent experience. The service was a bit slow but I can live with that. The price however is another story. For $ 60.00 I can get more food going elsewhere. While the food was good it just was not worth the $ 60.00(or in this case $ 47.00 with the groupon) I spent. My wife summed it up best«It was a good place to go with a groupon, but I am not sure I would go there again without one.»

I went here with my girlfriend a couple months ago and was totally disappointed. The place seemed dusty and old. It felt like it needed to be cleaned. The waiter was friendly, but awkward. He made us feel uncomfortable on numerous occasions with his wry humor. Then came the food. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and my girlfriend ordered the gnocchi, because that’s what they do best, right? Wrong! Gnocchi was supposed to be in a tomato flavored sauce but tasted like bland mac & cheese. The chicken parm was bland as well and the marinara had no flavor. Chicken tasted frozen, not fresh. We thought about sending it back, but figured they probably couldn’t improve the dishes anyways. At the end of our dining experience, we sat waiting for the check for 10 – 15 minutes because the one waiter had the whole dining room to himself. We felt trapped in a nightmare we couldn’t wake up from. I will not be going back again, that is an understatement.
