I’d always heard horror stories of people getting terrible service andwork done at chain car shops.
I cannot describe to you how much I wish I had listened. Haha.
It’s taken me a while to write this review, just because I was so incredibly frustrated and upset with the way things ended up going with these guys I really just didn’t want to think about it.
I took my car in because the A/​C was shutting off/​dying after driving for around 20 minutes.
They end up doing an in-​depth diagnostics and give me a list off issues needing to be repaired, and a price estimate of 1000.
I gave the go ahead, and within the day of taken it in I got my car back. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. On the car ride home, the A/​C died in essentially the same fashion as it had before. Thus began the game of me taking it back to them only for them to give me wide range of answers to my concerns.
The first time I took it in, we noticed that there was no coolant in the car. They had forgotten to replace it when they gave it back to me. One of the workers filled me up, and sent me on my way.
Issue resurfaced.
«I mean we fixed the A/​C, it’s not our fault there’s more to be fixed»
So fixing the A/​C system means getting it to blow cold for less than 30 min?
This guy then showed me an estimate for other repairs they wanted to do. ~700 dollars worth of work.
«Don’t worry, we won’t charge you for the extra time spent looking into this ‘new’ issue»
Is this even real?
«Hey next time you come in we’ll give you an oil change, on us»
Never got this.
«We just cannot get this thing to replicate the problem»
I could literally drive it and get the issue immediately.
What was interesting was that there were two guys who I would interact with. One was kind of a jerk, and the other would be super nice but essentially do nothing different than the other.
After about a month of stress and feeling like an idiot, these shenanigans came to an end. On my fourth visit the manager wasn’t in and I requested to be contacted when he returned. I was given his business card, which when dialed actually just called the front desk of the shop.
They never got back into contact with me.
I was down ~1000 dollars, and with nothing to show for it.
Eventually I took the car into a reputable family shop. They diagnosed the problem as being a malfunction in the clutch of the compressor. They replaced it for 400 and I haven’t had problems since.
These guys did not own up to their mistakes, tried to press the blame on me, and evaded me. They offered absolutely no help or empathy for the situation.
If you are getting your oil changed, I think these guys can do that.
Just don’t trust them with serious car issues, and don’t go to them just because you’re in a rush.

Well, ended up getting my refund on the diagnostic charge, thankfully. My opinion has not changed and I will never go back.

This place is great. They always get me in without an appointment. I do recommend making one, though. I get my oil changed and tires rotated for $ 19.99. They never try to up-​sell me on unnecessary stuff. I really appreciate that. If you are in the area, definitely give these guys a shot.

I love this place. It’s hard to really say that you love an auto repair chain but these guys are great. Tony is extremely helpful and a genuinely good person. I’ve been to quite a few different places around town for oil changes and brakes and everywhere I go there seems to be something new wrong with my car. Once place in Glendale told me that I had a horrible transmission fluid leak that needed to be fixed immediately and it would cost me over $ 2k to fix. I filled my transmission fluid and kept an eye on it it. What do you know, no leak. I’ve been to this Midas location multiple times and never have they tried to sell me on something I don’t need. I appreciate the honest service. Thanks Tony!

Great service. I drove in from a long road trip and had some grinding in my brakes. No appointment, no problem. Got in and out within an hour and a half.

I have been taking all of my cars here for a long time and I must say these guys are top notch. They really know how to treat customers, especially Veterans. They always are polite and I will recommend them to all of my military buddies! Thank you guys so much for the great work and awesome customer service!

While the staff was really nice and accommodating even though I did not have an appointment, I would not recommend Midas to anyone, for anything, ever. My mother swears by them even though she always seems to spend a ton of money for all of her car problems…
I had a minor issue, but they wanted to replace my entire exhaust system. All I needed done was the exhaust pipe reconnected to the cat, which they told me was impossible due to damage to the cat. After initially giving me a $ 1700 estimate (for my $ 1500 POS car), they got it down to $ 1563. If I wanted to add in my tires that were on the verge of blowing out supposedly, it would be $ 1927. I told them I didn’t want to invest that much in such a cheap car but they said there was no other way to do it.
Instead, I took my car elsewhere and had it fixed for $ 100 in twenty minutes.

I have been going to this place for the last 7 years. Every time I go I feel confident that I get the best service. I have had some major issues and some minor issues and each time they give me a free estimate and are very honest about the time table needed to fix it. I always get another opinion, because I like the best deal, and they have only been more expensive once. Bob there is awesome!

This is the Midas in the area you go to. THIS location. i wouldn’t go to another one. These guys are super helpful and honest. They work really quickly and keep your appointment times. BE AWARE — make an appointment. They are so frickin’ busy that if you don’t you’ll be waiting. They are clean and quite efficient. Really dig these guys

I had been going to Midas for awhile for oil changes and other small stuff so when I got a flat tire I didn’t think twice about taking it there. When they called me to let me know about the tire they said I had a coolant leak and it was going to be about $ 300 to fix. I told them not to fix it because I had not noticed anything leaking… sure enough the next day I had a HUGE puddle of coolant under my car. So I had no choice but to go to my local auto repair place (which was MUCH cheaper) I will NOT be going back to Midas, EVER!

Been bringing my car here for about 8 years and I have always been happy with them. I believe they are honest (I don’t think I can say that about anywhere else I’ve brought my car!), they do good work and are nice guys.

It’s hard for me to give five stars to any car place, simply because I hate having to patronize that type of bidness because it usually means something is wrong with my car and it’s going to be expensive. But alas, my oil light was flashing, Dude was at DIA on his way to Arizona (without psychic powers to scan his garage), and neither of us knew for certain what type of oil we last used in my car. Arg.
So instead of being a good little hippie and giving up my car for a week until he returns (le’sigh), I reasoned that I cannot do without it for a week (especially the week of Spring Break when I’ll actually have time to run errands holy crap), and Google Map’d «oil change». This Midas being a short distance away and still open, I called and was told if I could get there in 15 minutes they could do the oil change.
On my way there I wished I’d brought along some spring break homework reading, as I anticipated having to sit there for a spell. However, I’d estimate 20 minutes was all it took to get the ol’ girl up and changed out and ready to go. Yes, it was $ 34, but I was anticipating as much. Not that I had any choice either way. Still, even though my break light is on (eek…) not a word was said about it. The man behind the counter did, however, offer me a 120K-​mile estimate per Toyota standards included with the bill just for my information. I thought that was a nice touch (the Midas touch??), especially since he didn’t resort to the kind of freak-​you-​out-​and-​scare-​you tactics that I’m used to from other car places.
All-​in-​all, if I do stumble upon almost 500 bones for a 120K-​mile check-​up, I know where I’ll be taking Priscilla (my car). And since that probably won’t happen any time soon, I at least know where I’ll be taking the car for an oil change when Dude’s Garage is not open for service :)

Great guys. (Mike especially.) Honest pricing and no up-​selling (as opposed to some other midas’ in the area…) Cheapest price I could find for brake work.

I had gone to the Midas around Hampden and Wadsworth previously and got my oil changed for $ 20.
I swoop into the Midas on 38^th & Wadsworth and they tell me to cough up $ 32 + tax. I inquired and the dude told me some stores are corporate owned and some are franchise; hence the price discrepency.
So I hang out and watch Tyra Banks act a fool for 20 minutes and then I go up to pay and the guy is very nice and knocks the price down to $ 20 which made me ecstatic as I was extremely broke at the time.
Good, quick service.

Needed to get the oil changed. Was able to drop off the car and they got it right in. Very pleasant and helpful
