Went in for a new battery Tuesday. That went fine. By Friday, I had a dead battery and was stuck on the side of the road. Okay, it turns out that the tech didn’t tighten the cables enough. Carelessness? But then I discovered that in changing the battery, the tech basically tore apart and permanently damaged the battery’s housing. I mean, were’ talking hacking at it with a blade to get it off when a screw driver would have done the trick. I took the car back there and they jury-​rigged a repair as best they could with what was left of the housing. But no apology, no sorry for the inconvenience, no let us make this up to you.

Made an appointment for 11am. Two hours later they haven’t even started on my oil change. Took my keys back and left. Won’t be back ever again.

Horrible service took them 5 hours to change my tires when I called they told me an hour max. Don’t come to this place u are better off going to discount tired I will never come back to this shop ever ever again

I never thought I’d be rating a Pep Boys 5 stars, but here we are! I was in the automotive industry for many, many years, and never had the highest opinion of any auto repair chains. I went to Pep Boys to have some wheels swapped over on a car I was selling because I was far too lazy to do it myself. Simple task, but they were a bit busy, so the service writer decided to do it himself to save time (wish I could remember his name because he was great). Every single employee I encountered was polite, friendly and helpful. They kept me in the loop on the status of my vehicle the entire time. Two people complimented me on my car, one person offered to turn on the TV for me. Coffee, water, wifi, and charging stations were available to me in the waiting area. Overall, a very pleasant experience. I was treated with courtesy and respect, and I was out the door quickly. Super impressed!

I would like to thank Pep Boys manager of the Wheatridge, CO. store Jeff Marsh for his excellent customer service today! I bought my son a Razor scooter for his 13^th birthday. He was not able to ride it due to defective tires/​tubes. I ordered a new set of tires and Jeff told me when they arrived to bring in the scooter and he would put them on for me. I took them in today and he had the scooter up and running in an hour. He told me «I felt bad for your son that he couldn’t ride his scooter on his birthday». I am now a loyal customer of Pep Boys for all my automotive/​hobby (and anything else they carry) !! They stand behind their products and service and are not just interested in «the sale». Thank you Jeff Marsh.

I walked in needing my battery tested as well as new wiper blades. Ray’s customer service was the most friendly, professional and helpful service I have had in a long time. After I picked the most expensive wiper blades for my car, Ray offered to find a much better all-​weather blade that was actually much less expensive. He brought them to me and put them on my car without charging extra. The battery test was also free.

These guys were great, I got an oil change and new tires. They have a really nice waiting area with wifi. I will definitely use these guys again!

My issue was resolved, and management went above and beyond to make it right. I am a happy customer once again. When I said this location seemed to take my business for granted, I was wrong about that. The root of the problem with my vehicle occurred at another Pep Boys location. I had spent a lot of money on a brake job, and it wasn’t done right. Then, I had some difficulties at the Wheat Ridge location.
Jeff and Walt made sure my problem was taken care of this time. I could not have asked for a better solution than what I was given. This time, I was treated like the most important person in town. And, like I mentioned, the problem was taken care of, and then some. They exceeded my every expectation.
I would recommend this location, because of management’s dedication to the customer, as well as the quality of work I received.

Appointments at 8 and 9 for hubs and my vehicle. Got us in and out within the hour just like told over the phone. Let us have the synthetic oil change deal without the coupon. Nice GM keeps you updated on what is going on. Thanks guys!

I sat for 2 hours after my appointment for them to start a simple service. I would rather poke myself in the eye with a Tabasco covered piece of barbed wire than sit in this purgatory of a shop again.

Today, I went to the pep boys in wheat ridge. Selected 2 seat covers about 120 value. Sat at the check out counter for 10 minutes. No one came near the register. I saw several employees over by the commercial counter so headed over there. Stood at the counter for another 10 minutes. Several employees made eye contact but never said a word to me. Non employee was behind the counter says sucks nobody is at register even worse nobody here at commercial counter is willing to ring you up. 2 employees looked at him then me and laughed. I walked out went next door to O’Reilly auto parts. Immediately greeted, picked out seat covers, checked out in all of 3 minutes or less. Employee said. if you need any help installing them just let me know. Thats customer service. Maybe pep boys should have spent the money on additional help instead newly constructed waiting room.

Josh is THE MAN. That’s the only reason this store is getting 4 stars; it would be a 2 otherwise.
I first went to the store to buy a rubber mat for the back of my truck. The kid behind the counter looked at the computer for about 3 seconds and said, «Nope, we don’t have it.» I said, «I found it online. On the Pep Boys website. And it says you have one.» He looked again for 3 seconds. «Nope.» I asked to speak to his manager.
The manager is friendly and means well, but he’s a little confused and discombobbulated. He decided to walk the store to find it, but walked right past them in his search. Luckily, he directed me to Josh.
Josh was super accommodating and even opened up the box so we could see if it would work. They are quite heavy, so this was kind of a big deal, and I was grateful, because otherwise *I* would have been lugging that around in my garage.
We finally found one that we thought would work, but when I got it home, it wasn’t cut right to fit my truck, so I brought it back. Luckily, Josh was there and together, we ordered one that should fit my truck’s make and model.
He called a few days later, when the mat came in. And again, he opened up the package and we rolled it out on the floor to make sure it would fit. And it did fit perfectly.
So, if you have to go to this Pep Boys, my advice is to make sure Josh is working that day. Otherwise, don’t bother.

Called ahead to have them fix a tire valve they replaced the week before. They said they weren’t busy. Took about 20 minutes for the attendant to enter in all my information. Said they would get my truck in next for a quick repair. I then watched the service techs stand around not doing anything for a long time. Then I watched as the would pick up my paperwork, then put it back down and pick someone else’s up FOUR different times for people who showed up after me. Once they finally brought my truck into the bay it sat there unattended for about 15 minutes. The whole experience took about 2 hours when the store was not busy. Never coming back.

These guys are great! I had a battery that went bad but I had no receipt. I also had no record of me buying it at that store. I did buy it there 2 years ago. They went and tested it and then replaced it. I couldn’t ask for better service and less hassle.

I stopped in minutes before closing time with a bolt in my tire. The friendly crew explained my situation. Even though my tire couldn’t easily be fixed they helped me understand the problem and how to get it fixed.

SO disappointed in the service here! If it weren’t for the warranty on my tires, I would NOT come back. I’ve been here three times this year and I can honestly say each visit has gotten worse. One star is pushin’ it!!!
Soooooo after being at Pep Boys ALLLLL night. Pedro. Went WAY out of his way to make things right. Ray. Not so much!

Josh and Pedro did great job helping me figure out and interpret the on line parts site. They were both patient with my repeated calls to try to help me verify that I was trying to purchase the correct parts. Even when I (or any customer) gives the correct and accurate make and model, etc, there can still be confusion as to whether or not I’m asking for the right part. Both gentlemen were both patient we me and the process of making sure of my order’s accuracy. They even consulted with each other to confirm, and reconfirm part numbers, etc before finishing the job of assisting me.
Most too often, parts counter people are quick to forego accuracy in exchange for speed in moving onto their next customer. They get it. In the parts game, accuracy, and communication with the customer allows for the parts order to be completed accurately on the first try !

Chris was completely helpful and explained everything in detail. So much so that he was careful to get everything down correctly. They had to call me later in the day to do some price checks for some parts and labor. Explained some safety concerns and handled everything in a timely manner.

This is the moment when I tell the world that I have lived in CO for 3+ years and have yet to affix a front license plate to my car. I know, I know, feel free to judge me.
I moved here from a state that didn’t require front license plates and doesn’t even have a place created to mount a front license plate on cars.
I found the time to make a trip to Pep Boys to see if I could find what I needed. From the moment I walked in I was greeted and assisted with where I could find what I needed. Once in the aisle I was assisted again from a different associate with my additional questions and concerns. My entire trip was five minutes and I found everything I needed for a reasonable price.
The only thing that could make be happier was if they would have put my license plate on for me. Alas I was shot down and must figure out how to do it myself. I small price to pay for finally have the tools I need to finally put on my front license plate.

I bought my tires at Pep Boys, so I get free tire rotations as long as I have those tires. For that reason, I get other maintenance done here, including oil changes.
I am not entirely impressed, it’s just convenient. Despite having many bays, they seem to never be adequately staffed and simple routine maintenance takes a long time. The quality of the techs varies, so see certain issues while some do not.
Every day when I start my car, I am reminded of the lesser quality work. About a year ago, I had my belts replaced. Since then, one of the belts squeals upon start-​up, and it really pisses me off.
If my rotations were not free, I might consider other places. If I had a serious issue, I probably would go elsewhere.
