Paramount Bowl

This place turned my night around with my terrible encounter of service at Brunswick Zone down the street. Great monday night bowling deal and cheap food and drinks. I’ll be coming back.

As the quest continues to find a suitable replacement for Elitch Lanes, this place has emerged as a front runner. Granted, it’s less than half the size and it’s a little difficult to find (on the back side of a strip mall next to a gas station), but it’s got the divey bowling alley charm that Berkeley was stripped of when Elitch Lanes closed down.
The lanes are in good shape, as are the alley’s balls (I’m an adult and that still makes me laugh). They offer good drink specials and have a surprisingly decent selection given the size of the place. I can’t speak to the food since I didn’t have any, but it looked like your standard alley fare.
This isn’t the final alley I’m going to try out, but I had a really good time bowling here.

We were told we couldn’t wear shoes inside; that we had to walk around in our socks even if we weren’t bowling.
I’m not sure what that’s about but it was stupid. Enjoy the bathrooms in your socks…

We came here a few weeks ago, and I haven’t stopped talking about it since.
I was looking for a bowling alley with personality. Not a Brunswick-​corporate-​cosmic-​bowling-​expensive kind of place. I wanted old. I wanted not updated. I wanted exactly what I found in Paramount.
We came with a group and the owner and his manager were very accommodating, helpful, and friendly.
The prices are outstanding. We got shoes, 4 games, plus some drinks/​food for less than the cost of lunch at a food truck. No joke.
The décor is also outstanding — I can’t claim it’s been updated anywhere since the 80s (though the 60s may be more accurate) and that’s totally my style.
The only thing I didn’t love was we had a few people who couldn’t find it and therefore didn’t come to the bowling event. I found it just fine, so perhaps it’s «user error» but maybe a sign on the corner or concrete wall would be helpful to let people know it’s behind the grocery store.

Great vintage bowling alley. This is my go to place to relax and get a few games (beers) in as well as take guests for a Friday/​Saturday night friendly game. Prices for games are reasonable and the food an drink won’t break your bank either and is quite good. Don’t blow your money at the big name lanes. Give a hard working business owner your hard earned $. Rocky the owner takes good care of the place. He helped me drill my first ball for league play and I’ve been hooked ever since.

On a Saturday afternoon, the place was busy but not full. They have a league at 2 currently, so we arrived around noon. They have a charming layout with a lot of old school features from the sixties that complement the vibe nicely. They have a decent bar, a good juke box, and nice lanes.
They have a ball return that is above ground, and you can see your ball coming back atchya, which is super neato! Obviously an old school design, but I dig it!
They also have a kid’s league so there were some amazingly talented kiddos throwing games much better than mine. There was a variety of families, serious bowlers, and miscellaneous people on a random Saturday, so it was perfect.
The music was loud (but not too loud), the service was great, and the weirdness was welcoming! Love these locally owned businesses, highly recommended!

Holy Crap, I didn’t think I would find another bowling alley anywhere near my favorite Wheat Ridge Lanes, but this one fits right up there. I went here last weekend and had a fantastic time. Cheap games, cheap drinks and fun times! I’ve been to hundreds of bowling alleys across the country, as I am an avid bowler, and these lanes were easily comparable to any of the greats in regards to conditions and vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly and both my girlfriend and I came out of the place with smiles on our faces and stories of delight to tell our friends.
There are 12 lanes so don’t go in expecting a large corporate Alley as many are in Colorado. This is a neighborhood joint with great people doing what they love. With the lack of space I’d call before you head out, but if you indeed get to go you won’t be disappointed.
I highly recommend anyone who loves bowling as much as I do to head out to this place ASAP!!!

Paramount is a small (by contemporary standards) bowling alley with only 20ish lanes. Paramount is old school, in the best possible way. I’m not a great bowler, and I’m not a frequent bowler, but if I had my way I’d probably bowl here nine times out of ten. It is no so old school that you have to keep your own score, but even there scoring machines feel old. The people are friendly, the prices are great, and one can usually find an open lane pretty easily. This is what all bowling alleys should be.
