Essential Healing and Massage give by far the best massages! I’ve seen Kathy a few times now, and each massage has been extremely through. She is very responsive to both verbal requests and understanding your body to know what you need. Each massage is completely personalized to what you need and want. The environment here is very welcoming and relaxing, and there are all kinds of massage and other therapeutic services available. Take care of your body physically and mentally and book a massage!

I am a client of Essential Healing and Massage since Helen started her practice. She’s helped me through two significant physical challenges. I met her when I was enduring pinched nerves in my neck and am currently working with her to overcome a painful hip injury that nearly immobilized me. Helen is a gifted therapist who listens to you and how your body responds to therapy. Every session I have had with Helen is consistently best practice; she is 100% present and gives me the best therapy experience.
Two months ago, I added private yoga lessons with Liz G to my treatment plan. I started making great progress when combining massage and yoga; because of their coordinated efforts, I am able to walk without pain (most of the time). Liz is an excellent teacher who carefully corrects postures, explains and coaches when the asana is challenging for me. I am also attending her group lessons at Essential on Sundays (plan to start going on Tuesdays as well this coming week).
I must also recommend Cindy H who has also been part of my experience. She is talented and experienced. I am as confident in Cindy as I am in Helen. You can expect a great experience when you choose Essential Healing and Massage for your health.
I also use Helen’s handmade soap products faithfully, great products made with clean, safe ingredients. My favorite is the oatmeal lavender :); she makes many other varieties too.

Have to update my review! Looks like Essential Healing and Massage reads their reviews, and «Helen F.» immediately emailed me with a profuse apology about not getting my friend’s gift certificate out to her when I ordered it. Apparently Helen was off work for a week and the Unilocal deal fell throught the cracks. After a few rounds of phone tag, Helen got my friend’s mailing address and promptly mailed her a gift certificate, PLUS some gifts I hadn’t even ordered. AND my friend texted me her thanks, saying, «The pumpkin soap smells so good. I think that is the nicest soap I have ever gotten…». Mmm. now I’m envious. :-) I hope she texts me again to say how she liked the massage, once she has it. Meanwhile, Thanks, Helen, for making this right, and for being so prompt and so generous in your response. Now I’m feeling sheepish for posting a one-​star review. :-(Maybe next time I’m out to Chicago and the burbs, my friend and I will have a girly-​girl day and I“ll get to try out your place! Well I need to change my review based on the AMAZING experiences I’ve now had with Helen. She is working on my TMJ and has really helped. She is a wonderful massage therapist with a great sense of the body and what it needs. Thanks, Helen. I’ll be back for MORE!

The atmosphere in the whole massage suite is relaxing and inviting — I immediately felt at home as I sipped some delish green tea and listened to fountains.
As far as the massage itself, I enthusiastically recommend Helen as a maseuse. In an hour and a half massage, she had identified every problem area in my body and effectively worked them out. I felt great when I walked out the door. I will definitely come back! This place is superb!

This is a place of spiritual and physical healing, calm and strength. Helen is a gifted Reiki master and all around talented and kind person. I have practiced yoga with Liz for several years; her informative style and deep knowledge of the practice is unmatched. Her Thai Yoga massage is to-​die-​for. The products sold there are every bit as great as the practitioners. Highly recommended.

After losing a message therapist to retirement I thought I would never replace her. Then I was referred to Essential Healing & Message and my massage joy was renewed! Helen and Amelia do a AAA+++ job. They are skilled at their profession.
Everything from the waiting area to the rooms to the linens are fantastic.
I walk in tired, sore and walk out a new person with renewed energy. They work with you to determine what your needs are so you get the most out of each session.

At no other place have I enjoyed a better massage. Helen really knows what she’s doing. She knows a lot about the body, what causes various parts to go awry, and how to get those parts back on course. My chronically jacked-​up neck and shoulders are finally starting to release after several sessions in a row, and that’s major news.
The atmosphere is very positive and soothing. I don’t even live or work close to Wheaton anymore, but it’s worth it to make a special trip.

An update to my previous review:
I recently had my first 1:1 yoga lesson with Liz Gresher at Essential Healing and Massage. It was absolutely fantastic!
I’ve done yoga off and on for years, but was mostly self-​taught. A session with Liz was like experiencing yoga for the first time — in a whole new, wonderful way. I learned many subtleties to the poses we worked on, and these made such a difference!
It’s so beneficial having 100% of the teacher’s attention — and Liz is a terrific teacher! I highly recommend her for both yoga and Thai massage!

I really love this place! Thanks to Helen Floyd (owner) I got a wonderful Indian Head massage. I’m a bad headache/​Migraine sufferer and this massage really did the trick! I would go every week for one if I could. I felt like I was floating on a cloud the rest of the day, and really for me that’s a sign of one good massage! Essential Healing and Massage not only offers the amazing migraine relief but they also offer all kinds of body work and even sell their own soaps and essential oils! This place really is fantastic, you always can tell when people love what they do; it shows in their work. I will definitely be back !

I highly recommend Helen Floyd at Essential Healing and Massage. Helen does a great job with therapeutic, deep tissue and hot stone massages. You can also choose to have aromatherapy or reflexology.
The waiting area is relaxing and I love the soothing music — but the results are the most important. Recently I strained my back while working out — after almost 2.5 weeks, a visit to my Dr, and a few days flat on my back on muscle relaxants — it was a massage from Helen that finally broke the cycle of my muscle spasms. A second massage a week later and I felt normal for the first time in three weeks.
Give Essential Healing and Massage a try and I promise you won’t be sorry!
