i feel sorry for people who lose their jobs. but this restaurant needed to be shut down.

We went here for many months as a men’s group, studying. For the most part, the servers were really nice, and we got really good food. I would normally give 4 stars for that, but… my friend purchased their vege-omlet, and after getting it, after about 1⁄3 of the way done with it, he pulled away from the table saying I can’t eat any more… and on the edge of his plate was a roach that had been cooked into the vegetables in his omlet. When we brought it to the attention of the manager, his response was simply, «would you like something else?» He did not charge us for the omlet, but nothing else was done for such an issue. No wonder the place has now closed. My guess it is because Dominick’s closed, further reducing the traffic that feeds this restaurant.

Better service as of late… however, found out today they’re closing like tomorrow. I found out when I asked why their WI-FI wasn’t working, when it usually is. On 2÷9÷14. there goes yet another option of breakfast in Wheaton. UGH. Wheaton is running out of options to even eat!

I’m surprised I have never written a review! My family has come here on the day after Thanksgiving for years– it’s an annual tradition– we go to Marmion and cut down our Christmas trees and then have a yummy brunch at IHOP. I look forward to it every year. I always get the Breakfast Sampler and they let you upgrade to pumpkin pancakes instead of regular pancakes– the pumpkin pancakes are DELICIOUS! We have always had good service and this past week we had EXCELLENT service from Patricia– she was kind and so efficient. Top notch!

I hop, you hop we all hop at Ihop. Now, I’ve been to iHop before, even this one. But it was a different time back then. The Clinton administration was in full swing and everyone was too worried about Y2K to care about breakfast food quality. Some 13 years later a friend of mine wanted to go to Ihop and I agreed. After all, how bad could it be? We stepped in, and the place was clean. We were seated at a booth and soon looked over the menu items. After searching thoroughly for anything that resembled skillets served at most other breakfast joints and to my disappointment there was nothing. So I settled on a Colorado omelet which from the pictures on the menu looked to be a tightly packed roll of egg, cheese, pepper, beef, sausage and bacon with pancakes. About 15 minutes after ordering my food had arrived, What I got was a mess of an omelette that had become partly unrolled consisting mostly of unmelted shredded cheese, a small amount of meat, almost no bacon and more abundant than any other ingredient was disappointment. I then tried the pancakes, the good news is these had a nice consistency and even creamy butter on top. The problem is the maple syrup provided was mostly hot water. I suspect that there was syrup in there at one time and they watered it down like a high schooler topping off the half empty bottles in their parents liquor cabinet to save on refills. The result was bland pancakes that could have been good with a thicker richer syrup. Overall I came in with low expectations and this exceeded them by being worse than I expected. If you happen to hop over to iHop I’d recommend hopping, hobbling or crawling back to your automobile. One star for iHop, and just another note if Belguim waffles make this place international do French Fries make McDonalds the international house of burgers? What a silly name.

I don’t really«do» going out for breakfast often because it’s the cheapest meal of the day but costs the most at a restaurant compared to making your own breakfast at home. That being said, my husband had a coupon for a free entrée for his birthday a few weeks ago so we decided to eat out for breakfast. I had the Bananas Foster Brioche French Toast which is actually really good. Not $ 15 for two people when one of their entrees was free good, but ok. So overall I’d say IHOP has decent food but it’s still overpriced.

I have been to this IHOP several times and have never been disapointed in the service. It is alway the same very very good. The food is always the same, good. If you have not been to this restaurant, give it a try. Plenty of parking, easy in and easy out.

Overall this was a good dining experience. Even though the parking lot was packed, we were seated right away. The waiter took our order and the food was fast to arrive. The food was your typical Ihop food and was hot and fresh. The waiter kept our glasses full and came back to check on us numerous times. He even suggested condiments we might need immediately after the food came.

Like most other Unilocalers, you know what you are getting into when you go to ihop, a good breakfast and average dinner food… but this location almost always has great service. Maybe it is because they have more servers than tables, I don’t know… but it is consistently good. We went for dinner, which means we went for breakfast because honestly their dinner menu is average and with so many other dining options in the area it is hard to justify eating bland food. Not crowded, good service, and fairly cheap. Sign up for the ihop email program, they will send out coupons and free food offers.

I know, like everyone else — it’s an IHOP but service is Fantabulous — The host was really nice and asked me if I I wanted a table in a quieter section as he saw I was by myself with a book and I was happy to accept. I had Sara as my server and she was super nice and very attentive. I was by myself so she stopped to chat every so often when I was staring into space enjoying my awesome chocolate chip pancakes and glass of milk(don’t judge!) I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was a balloon animal maker guy. He doesn’t ask for any money but he made me a penguin so I tipped him. Super nice old man and it seems he’s a Sunday regular and the kids loved him. the place is nice and clean and no sticky tables. Bathrooms also were well maintained especially when I showed up on a Sunday after the brunch rush. Owner seems to know the regulars and was quite chatty with them and asked me if I was from the area. Great for families or even if you’re by yourself reading and jonsing for chocolate chip pancakes. Also fairly priced. With tax and tip I paid $ 12 and I tipped 25% and got a penguin to boot!

4 stars? For an IHOP? Yes it’s true! I went here on a Sunday for brunch. The wait was 10 minutes just like the hostess said. Our waitress was just the right kind of attentive. She came by at the right time, not too infrequent, not too often. Food was pretty standard, but this was a good experience as far as IHOPs go. There was a guy making balloon animals for tips. I kind of wish I asked him to make me one :(

We used to go here for the kids eat free night. I have to say, each time we have gone our experience has worsened. The last time we went the service was terrible. It took almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We were told it was because there was a large private party there, but the place was almost empty except for a group of 8 people. Also the inside is getting rundown and was not clean. That was most likely our last trip there.

It’s an ihop, but it’s a darn good one! Service is pretty good, very polite and helpful. They know the menu well. The food is typical ihop, not fabulous but it fills you up. A way better value than other area breakfast places such as egg’lectic, egg harbor etc.

Sad … This used to be one of the better IHOPs. Sticky tables, desperately understaffed with no adult supervision, as I sit here eating my lukewarm pancakes there are about 9 people waiting to PAY… I would just walk out after the 10 minutes they have been waiting. I’m surrounded by unbussed tables… an elderly couple had to walk to the far end of the restaurant to get their requested booth for lack of clean tables. I would bet money this location isn’t long for this world.

I’m writing this on the premise that this is Ihop. It clearly is not upscale dining, and people looking for a black tie affair would not feel at home here. So, as far as small, hometown type breakfast restaurants go, it works for me. It’s clean, the service is speedy, there’s good coffee, and they have a large selection of breakfast and non-breakfast foods all day. And now, glory hallelujah, they have warm Nutella crepes with bananas and strawberries! And you can get it in a meal-combo thing with 2 eggs, and 4 pieces of pork-based product! Hooray! Delicious! Great, easy location with lots of parking and fun clientele for people-watching. You get the older people who come there every morning, and then you get the people who wish it were a Denny’s because, dude, there isn’t one in Wheaton, so we’ll go to ihop instead and look angsty and dark. Awesome!

Yep, it’s an IHOP… not much to add… My wife and I like coming here on the weekend because, well we like breakfast food! The service could use some improving, but with that being said we have yet to receive bad service, just sometimes slow. But we do go on the weekend, so they are usually busy, so the servers get some slack there. We’ve only had to wait once and that was only for 5mins. So that wasn’t too bad. The biggest reason we go is that it is cheap! Plus our apartment has an arrangement with them so we get 20% off of our check, and we LOVE a good deal!

Service is always awesome. Even when we don’t get our regular server, there’s always someone who wants to go the extra mile to get a good tip. Food is always prepared well. Only downside is the lack of soft drink choices. They also have some sort of «kids eat free» deal with an adults meal. I think it’s after 4pm or something like that. Special note to you other reviewers: –Taking away a star because they don’t have a lot of Vegan choices? Seriously? Grow the F up. It’s an IHOP. Find a vegan restaurant, drag your unwilling boyfriend there, and try not to alienate everyone around you with your weird dietary choices. Here’s a hint, there’s a Whole Foods in the same parking lot as the IHOP. Go there, buy some vegetables and cook at home.

It’s an IHOP… what else can I say? I haven’t been to many but the service and food here is pretty solid. I never had any complaints, always clean and courteous. If it’s packed then expect your server to be a little delayed/distracted… but no biggie. As a chain… Ihop is nothing special: the food is pretty simple, atmosphere is plain… but every time we go it’s a happy occasion. Maybe it’s the tasty and comforting breakfast foods like pancakes and eggs … or that even though nothing is glamorous, the basic accommodations and standard-fare Americana menu will satisfy consumers from all walks of life. You pretty much know what to expect going in and know you will find something to fill that empty belly. I’ve tried items from breakfast, lunch and dinner menus and left satisfied. This is a good place to go when you really can’t decide what you want, but know you don’t want to eat at home.

Ok, ok I know. It’s IHOP. There’s one around every corner, yes. It’s where you eat at 2am when everything else is closed. EXCEPT. this one is different. Why? Because the Wheaton IHOP has spectacular service. Service I haven’t encountered in a LONG time. The last time was at the Ritz Carlton. I’m not kidding. ITFELTLIKELIVINGINPLEASANTVILLE, and this was my neighborhood diner. Everyone from the host, to the server, to the manager, was OUTRAGEOUSLYFRIENDLY, KIND, and HELPFUL. They did not mind my coupon from another location(even though the fine print said not), nor my crazy vegan substitution order of hashbrowns instead of eggs in my garden scramble. It was like we were old friends, or soon will be. There is nothing like great customer service. Nothing. Makes me feel all giddy just thinking about it. Like the way you treat people for 5 minutes really does make a difference. Wheaton IHOP makes me want to make the world a better place. there, I said it! Would be five stars, but there’s not much for a vegan to eat here. Oh well. :)
