I like KD and it’s the best in my area. I have a couple other favorites for certain items but much further away. All in all, there are some great deli items here. I think a lot of the groceries are over priced but i don’t have much comparison for the specialty items. They also have a sushi roller on site so they have fresh rolls. I’ll return for some stuff, like soups, but i also live so close

Service was a little discriminatory because I didn’t look Polish even tho I was standing in line forever with my pink ticket number in hand… Anyway, a sweet Polish lady behind me saw my plight and spoke up to the rude counter girls and said Hey, take care of this gentleman next! So I got my pounds of pork butt, sausages, and ham. Then I got several quarts of the best homemade bean soup for $ 1.80 each. I’d like to come back but do those rude bitches deserve my return business? We’ll see Stash, we’ll see…

One of my favorite delis in the area! I love their meats, their breads, hot dishes and everything in between. Their ‘jagodzianki’ and ‘paczki’ are to die for — just like in the old country!

I bought their saussage home made last year, it was almost without bones and delicious, my daughter told me couple weeks ago that their home made polish saussage is not like before, acctually I went and bought some at their place in Schaumburg and I’m afraid my daughter was right, so I went yesterday to wheeling to visit someone and stoped at their place their and bought home made polish saussage it’s the same filled with bones and other stuff. Is it because they got bigger, usually that’s the way it works in every business, I am an ex chef cook and I have experienced these thinks with Restaurant that I worked!!!

So I was trying to get to Jimenez for some dried chilis to make some Authentic tex-mex. I had no idea where it was, and then saw a sign for a grocery… It was a Polish grocer/deli. At that point, I decided that I will just use the chili powder I have at home(plus the jalopeno I bought here) and go inside for some Polish food. Bigos, cabanos, gypsy bacon(offensive and delicious), pierogi, other dumplings, and Pączki. Holy Sh#t I just died and went to fat boy heaven. They lost a point because there were only frozen pierogi and the brocoli in the produce section was already wilted.

This place is super cute on the inside, if anything, go in to take a look at the décor. The produce is very fresh, and the deli area employees are very attentive. The Deli section is also fresh and my fiancé really likes the meat selection. If you like eastern european cuisine then this is the place for you. This isn’t a restaurant– it’s more of a grocery store.

Tasty selection of Polish/Russian groceries and deli. Lots of eastern European products. Good selection of fresh and frozen pierogi. Good pierogi ruskie available at the hot counter, and a good selection of fresh kielbasa hanging behind the meat counter.

For what it is, this is a delightful little Polish deli/grocery. If you’re looking for American products or any other ethnic tidbits, you’re out of luck. There’s a smattering of familar items but the majority is Eastern European. The produce section is small but high quality and I found some excellent deals, like a huge pineapple for $ 1.49. I also got 3 lbs of Empress apples for a buck… not bagged apples, but beautiful, red, hard, crisp apples. Everything looked fresh and crisp, the store itself is spotless and is designed like an outdoor market, with a cobblestone path and faux brick buildings. The meat counter was passed by… it was gorgeous, if you only want pork. I don’t recall seeing fresh chicken or beef. The deli had a huge assortment of sausages and other meats but again, not much I was familiar with. Same with the hot, premade dishes. The bread section was good, everything was very fresh, and reasonable. There’s a little alcohol section off to the left but I didn’t have time to check it out. I’ll come back here for the produce if the prices continue to hold up, it was worth it, but I’m not much for Eastern Europeam ethnic products.
