This place is wonderful! They have a relaxing atmosphere with a cozy fire place. I had the rise n dine skillet, and it was amazing! All the ingredients mixed well in the skillet and the steak was tender and juicy. I also had pancakes for the side dish, and they also tasted very good. They have a lot of different items to choose from their menu. Skillets, scrambles, omelettes(which most of the guests order, and looks very tasty), Benedicts, pancakes. All dishes come in a big portion. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who would like to have a good breakfast to start their day :)

It was a decent breakfast. Got the chullah bread french toast — wasn’t amazing and didn’t come with any extras. Felt the prices were ok. Decent traditional breakfast place but didn’t blow me away.

DISCLAIMER: My review is going to be super-biased due to how close this place is to my home and the fact that the owners are awesome. Their Rise N Dine skillet is unmatched by an skillet I’ve had at any other location. While I wish the skillet came out on an actual skillet, I can’t complain about the soft skirt steak and the portion size that will fill you up for the whole day. All the other food on the menu is solid, although, you can pass on the omelets as there are better options elsewhere. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet.

Good food, wonderful service from Athena. Biscuits and Gravy, eggs ben, pancakes, hash, over easy eggs. All was fresh, hot and portions were above average.

I love this spot! Family owned restaurant, always very friendly in here. Sunday mornings are always packed but service is fast!

Very friendly service and warm atmosphere. Inside is a lot cozier than outside with a fireplace and a variety of booths and tables. Waitresses seem to know the regulars and the food was terrific. My wife got oatmeal with bananas and brown sugar that she called one of the best things she’s ever eaten. I got a ham and cheddar omelette which had a ton of ham and was accompanied by fruit instead of hash browns(at no extra charge) This would be 5 stars, but toast was a little too well done and the fruit, while good, was a small piece of pineapple, honeydew and cantaloupe. Would have liked grapes/strawberries/blueberries.

Cute family place, service is good, the food is yucky! The oil they use is stinky. Not worth it

Happy Holidays! This place set the jolly mood to my family for Christmas breakfast today. I made reservations two weeks ago over the phone just to make sure that they will be open on Christmas Day and that we will get a table without the wait. It was our first time at this place and I’m glad we tried it. I wanted to try something else besides the breakfast places in Glenview. The interior is nice, clean, the big fire pit is a great addition to the holiday mood in the restaurant, service is awesome and their food was phenomenal! Here is a breakdown of what we’ve tried today: BANANABREADFRENCHTOAST– perfect! I love making and eating banana breads and I totally approve of how they make theirs. GRANDSLAM– delicious pancakes and thick bacon… What more could you ask for?! BANANAANDSTRAWBERRYHAZELNUTCREPE– You got me at hazelnut :) As usual, I did not stand a chance of taking a picture of this as my son did not waste time devouring this as soon as the plate was set in front of him. CHICKENPESTOPANINI– Thick chicken breasts with delicious pesto dressing. Great panini! The fries that came with te panini were thick and crunchy:) JRBENEDICT — The eggs were on top of roasted red peppers and huge mushrooms. Great combination of flavors:) Overall, we will definitely go back to try other menu items. Why four stars? When we were almost done with our meal, there was something going on with the owners and a customer who was asked to give up her table for other customers who are ready to be seated and to order. A few minutes later, we could hear and see(they were at the table next to ours) the male owner chatting with customers(they probably know each other) regarding the customer who was just asked to move, and not in a nice way. Personally, I think that as the owners/employees of a service oriented establishment, it is inappropriate to talk to customers about other customers, specially when other people around can hear your conversation. Am I right or am I right? :)

I just had an atrocious experience in regard to service here this morning. I came in and ordered a mushroom omelet and some coffee. While I was reading some emails and picking at my fruit side, the server came over and dropped off my check. A few minutes later, he came back and asked if I wanted a box, while I was clearly still eating and working. I thought that was rude. I politely told him no, I am not yet finished. He then disappeared for over 30 minutes. A server dictating your schedule in a near empty restaurant is completely unacceptable. While the food was good, fresh and well seasoned, I am not sure I will return. Service left a bad taste in my mouth… Along with the coffee which was a little too bitter for my taste. Will not return in light of so many other options for breakfast foods in the area.

Fresh orange juice, good selection of breakfast options, clean and well maintained. Service was good, place virtually empty before 8am. Had the Mexican Skillet, not really«Mexican» but chorizo mix was delicious. Generous servings, would come back.

It’s like going into your moms kitchen. This family owned restaurant is a great place to get a hearty fresh breakfast. Plenty of options on the menu for breakfast and even lunch. Been coming here for years and never disappointed. Even can do a breakfast for takeout. Convenient and friendly atmosphere. You always feel at home.

Great family style restaurant located not too far from the airport. Great type of place for breakfast or lunch. I ordered the two eggs and meat and out comes a plentiful serving of eggs sausage fruit and pancakes. I wasn’t ready for the amount of food that came. Everything had a great taste and came out of the kitchen nice and hot. All the the employees that I came in contact with had great attitudes and were happy to help us with any questions we may have had. Definitely worth the stop if I’m in the area again.

Went back with my parents, again… utensils weren’t set up again(miss #1). That’s not even the bad part — the reason for the 1 sad star is that I ordered the Tortilla skillet and the chicken tasty really funky — like not fresh at all… seriously.(miss #2) So when the waitress asked how everything was, I mentioned that the chicken didn’t taste right… and she said«well, we are very busy today… so many customers, so I don’t know if I can help you…» and she took off because she had to get something to another table… she said she’d be right back. huh? My plate was begrudgingly changed, I asked for bacon instead of chicken… got the plate and no bacon :((miss #3) The owner did come and mention that the chicken is fresh made — I said, «thank you for mentioning, but this chicken just didn’t taste right this time around. We’ve been here before and seriously… the chicken was off, I don’t want to risk getting sick» then the waitress intercepted the conversation with a justification on how busy they are. The owner just stood there and let the waitress rant away — i was really shocked. Actually it’s laughable. I waitressed for many years earlier in my life and I’m always shocked at the way that some food servers just don’t get it… it’s not personal! If something is off, the honorable and smart thing to do is to say, «Let me see if we can make this right for you?» simple enough right? Needless to say — we will not be going back ever… you’ve lost several customers because of your ignorance to understand how business works… what a shame. There are just too many places in Chicago/Chicagoland to choose from.

Great local place for breakfast, brunch. Omelettes are substantial, scrambled eggs not too dry, not too wet. Decaf coffee a little weak. Hash browns came unsalted, the way they ought to. Great casual atmosphere, nice people. Very relaxed pace. Enough seating that never too long a wait. Owners really want to please, they personally ask every patron how things are going.

Excellent family owned and managed breakfast spot! The owners and staff are friendly and kind, the food is great and plentiful, and prices reasonable. It can get busy on the weekend mornings but they are efficient and organized. They have great pancakes, and most every egg dish comes with a side of pancakes(or toast) so you can have a little sweet and a little savory in one meal :) My favorites are the simple eggs and bacon(extra crisp, please!) or the European omelette with feta and spinach. Warm friendly environment and very family friendly.

Great little local breakfast place! Service was great! My 2 year old nephew even spilled his orange juice all over the ground and they cleaned it up with no complaints, and gave him a new free orange juice. Which, btw, is freshly squeezed and amazing! I tried his orange juice and ordered myself a large glass of orange juice, it was that good! Food was also delicious! The only flaws:(1) when we walked in, we were not greeted. The girl that was suppose to be seating us looked at us and ignored us, and after I stood there for 3 minutes I asked if it was seat yourself, and she said no to wait. And then came over 5 minutes later. The place was halfway full, and she was doing nothing. Seat your customers, don’t make them wait!(2) coffee tasted burnt and not good. I would recommend changing to a better coffee. I had one sip, and one sip was all I needed in order to not drink anymore coffee there…

I used to be a regular here five years ago or so. After a bad meal that sickened me, I stopped coming here. But my dad INSISTED we eat breakfast here, and being the obedient son, I hesitantly agreed. Now I have a reason to tease him about his choice in restaurants, and he agrees with me. The food is, and this is being a tad generous, mediocre. My dad was disappointed with his scrambled eggs, overcooked and served cold. My omelette, while hot, was rather bland and nothing to write home about, but worth writing to Unilocal about. The place USED to be good, prior to my earlier aforementioned incident. It still manages to draw a crowd. Service was fine. But I have crossed it off my list of places to eat. There’s better places in the area.

Excellent food. Average to horrible service and rude service when overwhelmed with full house. At begining of my seating, service was great as soon my food was on the table the dining room got flooded with alot people coming in to eat. I had the Hawaiian Five-O. Excellent quality. Too bad no other local breakfast places serves this besides Ellys in Mundelein. I would probably do take out and not deal with waiting for my pop to be refilled or waiting for the check. When I went to the bathroom as I was waiting for the check. I came out not even 5 minutes all of the food I had on table was cleared off and not even ask me if I wanted to save my leftovers. I didnt plan on to but alot people do save leftovers. And people was seated in my table. I was standing wondering where my check was the old lady flagged me down and I paid for the food on desk and tipped the waitress 4 dollars. Which should have went to the cook. If that is how you treat customers thats fine your food was good, take out can always be an option. 2 stars for the horrible service at the end otherwise I would have given 4 stars due to waiting for my pop to be refilled too long not 5… averaged to 3 stars. This is a Unilocal review not a rant or complaint. This is what happened. People will love the food here. Hash browns was perfect and spot on, toast was huge, pancakes was perfect. Omelette was Extraordinary. They used fresh pineapples in this one.

First time trying this place even though I have driven by a million times. Interior is dated and has a Spanish theme. Service was quick and attentive on a busy Saturday morning. We shared an order of banana bread French toast and Hawaii five o omelet. Both were very tasty. Pretty good spot for breakfast or brunch.

Perhaps they should call it Eat N Sleep Café. My hubby and I were heading to Tous Les Jours in Glenview to try out something new. But, upon passing Rise N Dine my hunger got the best of me, and instead of opting for a Korean-French nosh, I went all out and piledrived a ginormous Italian skillet loaded with cube cut seasoned potatoes, mozarella cheese, scrambled eggs, smoked sausage, and pasta sauce. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to craving breakfast for lunch, this place really hits the spot. I imagine it’s a great restaurant to cure a night-out-on-the-town hangover with it’s huuuuuuge menu. If you’re looking for good coffee to wake you up, it’s not my favorite here. I typically love diner coffee, but it was bitter and no amount of sugar was going to sweeten my cup. We had to send the first carafe back for not being warm enough. Not so convinced the second batch was much better. Oh well. Note: I noticed one of those fancy schmancy juicing machines behind one of their counters. Perhaps next time I’ll opt for an OJ. Greek owners are lovely and the service is fantastic — hence my 4-star rating. Super cute and humble place with a fireplace in the back. I would not be opposed to coming back again, but from the reviews weekends are pretty crazy. My next visit will most likely be during the week again. Oh, and BTW, my skillet was seasoned to perfection and really hit the spot. I even took half of it home for a second meal… and I ate a lot. The only regret is the fact that my experience left me beyond tired from the mass amounts of food. Rise and Dine Dine Dine Dine Dine Dine…
