Awkward place to eat at. Everyone that works there literally just watches you the whole time.

Loved the food and the staff. It’s a downhome barebones diner with no frills but the food was great. They had WiFi and i needed to plug in my laptop buy the plug was blocked by many layers of paint. First Frank ran an extention cord for me then he fixed the outlet. Great guy and great service. The waitress was very kind and attentive as well.

I don’t understand all the good reviews for this place. I’m thinking they must not be from Jersey natives because this was not a good diner. I was craving disco fries, a Jersey diner staple, and they not only didn’t have them but didn’t know what they were. Strike one. There were no menus, and therefore no prices, but we ordered eggs, fries, a plain bagel, and a turkey club. A group of 4 teenage boys came in after us and were served LONG before we ever were, because the waitresses knew them. Strike two, three and four. Then about 30 minutes after ordering the waitress remembered to come over and tell us they were out of plain bagels. Hello, what had you been doing for 30 minutes. Strike five. We wanted more coffee but had to get up to go find someone to bring us some. Strike six. I ordered a chocolate milkshake but it has the consistency of chocolate milk. Strike seven. Ugh I’m just getting annoyed again writing this review, point is — don’t go here. Jersey has literally thousands of other better diners.

Cute little real deal diner. It is basic and bare bones but yummy and the nicest people. Everyone knew Frank and he seems to be a popular guy in his diner! Had French toast and eggs and would go get them again! If I lived here we would be frequent diners here! Actress Quinn McColgan said your French toast was awesome!

Charming, tiny old fashioned classic diner tucked away in «downtown» Whippany. Breakfast was very good and the portions quite generous. The Taylor ham and egg sandwich was the best I have had in years. My wife’s omelette of spinach and mushrooms was amazing. Our waitress was as nice and genuine as they come. But poor Frank! He doesn’t seem to be capable of a smile — we felt bad for him, he seemed such a sad man. His cooking was really good and his place is a gem. Please stop in for breakfast or lunch and try to get Frank to smile!

Everything you want in a diner. It has a small friendly feel, with the owner hanging out behind the counter, ready to greet you and talk. The menu is simple and classic and everything comes quickly. The food is fresh and not greasy, which is hard to find. A good find!

Six of us from CA. One NJ alum need a fix of Taylor ham on a hard roll. We all tried one. Delicious. Owners are very friendly. Nice diner and worth a visit.

Unlike so many restaurants in New Jersey that call themselves«diners» but are actually just fancy upper-middle scale restaurants, Frank’s Diner is what I’d call a diner. It’s a small, cozy joint. The dining area is pretty much just the counter and a row of booths. The menu is limited — you can see the whole thing on the back wall — but what they offer, they make pretty well. Service is great and they seem to get to know all their regular customers. Frank’s is a hidden gem.

Classic American diner. The food was great. Much better than waiting 6 hours for a table somewhere in Morristown.

Frank now takes credit cards! Well he’s been taking those for awhile now. Great diner food with local friendliness. Get the fried chicken!

The food was good but the experience was great. Frank and his wife were very friendly and personable. Definitely not a diner experience to be missed

Sorta friendly. Good coffee. Soda outta cans. Not much love put in anything here. Or effort. The sunny side eggs were barely cooked. The potatoes were beyond bland. Advice: skip it and find better efforts/food elsewhere.

This is the old school small town finer. Great food. A true greasy spoon in a nice way.

Old school diner. Owner & Operator Frank makes the best eggs & breakfast sandwiches in the state. He will NOT overcook eggs. Try the Taylor Ham, Egg, & Cheese Omlette. Cheese steak sandwiches are reallll steak. Not the steakums nonsense. Real food, homemade, all the time. Miserable man and i won’t go anymore… but if you want the best breakfast in NJ go for it.
