Food: pit beef… They dont even ask how you like it… Med, rare, wd… Right away the best places always ask. Burgers and other options looked good. Pitbeef. Dry. Not tasty. Tasted like roast beef from walmart heated up and thrown on a bun… Do it yourself toppings was cool If youre in the area and want something. Go for the burger or try something else. If you’re too far from your pit beef choice place. This may suffice. Didnt for me. May return to try burgers.

A little place right off route 40. Great service nice people and excellent food. I love the pit beef here full of flavor and very filling. Their special sandwich will all the pit meats and sausage is a true experience. Packed with smokiness and full of flavor. Add some BBQ sauce to give it a little zing if you please. I will be back. Thank you for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal experience and opinion.

Good pit beef places ask how you want your meat cooked when you are ordering. I prefer medium rare. When I ordered my sandwich, they didn’t ask how I like it done, so I already knew what to expect. I received a sandwich with a pile of dry, gray, well-done beef. The same as the 2 pit beef pictures other reviewers have posted. 2-stars, instead of 1, because the fries were good, and there was enough BBQ sauce available to mask the dry flavorless meat. I’m sticking with Chap’s.

Great food and decent prices. I got the mega and it was a monster well worth the extra dollar over the pit sandwich which is on a hamburger bun the mega is on a roll with turkey and beef and sausage and ham. The mega is definitely a 2 person sandwich as a combo with fries and a drink. Only thing I didn’t like was you put your own sauce on the sandwich. Other than that awesome place with decent prices. 1 last thing there are only benches outside so the weather will need to be good to eat there

This place makes an awesome pit sandwich! I ordered the triple threat(beef, ham, and turkey), and it comes on a ten inch sub roll. When I got home, I weighed the sandwich and it came in at over 1lb. I believe the cost was only 8.99! They have boardwalk style fries which were also really good, but the fries seemed a bit overpriced. As far as East side pit beef goes I would say this place is probably second best, only falling to CHAPS!

This is a roadside place so if you like the ambiance of open air picnic tables on side of road or eating in your car; this place is awesome. Sandwiches are piled high with freshly sliced beef. One in our group got the larger size and it’s a lot to eat. The grilled sausage also very tasty and well grilled. Just loved it, wish we had known no seating but will definitely stop again when traveling on 95 north of Baltimore.

If there’s better pit beef to be found in the area, I have yet to discover it. Combine that with boardwalk style fries(with vinegar and old bay), outside seating, and Go-Karts, you’ve got a real winner.

I don’t want to harsh anyone’s mellow, but I have to bust this places perfect rating. But first, a shame-faced confession; this was our second trip for pit beef in one day. Our first stop for lunch was at Chaps. Later, for dinner, we tried Charcoal Style. Charcoal Style is good, just not as good as Chaps. They are cheaper, and their sandwiches are bigger, but quantity does not equal quality. Very good, just not AS good. The fries are sucky.

So I seek out pit beef places, searching for the best. I think my quest is over. Two pit sandwiches(beef, turkey or ham), two fries and two sodas for $ 15.99? You betcha! Onions, horseradish, mayo, and pickles for topping your choice? Yeppers! Old Bay and vinegar for the fries? Check!(Love that the vinegar was provided in a spray bottle). They have two choices of BBQ sauce as well. Open Pit and Cannonball. Always go for the Cannonball! A few picnic tables are provided and most are under cover. If pit beef is not your style, they have several other items on the menu. And the fries are awesome. I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about this joint. It sits on Route 40 and shares a parking area with a go-kart track and a sno-cone shack. Bring the kiddies, have a sandwich and a few turns on the track, then finish it off with a sno-cone! Perfect family outing! I just wish I lived closer.

A fabulous Unilocal find. Great lunch just off I 95. Terrific beef sandwich with tons of delicious beef, great fries. Our son liked the chicken tenders too. Nice eating at picnic tables and watching the go carts. Very friendly and reasonable. Perfect on the way to DC.

Awesome Pit Beef Stand. I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying many pit beef stands on the Route 40 Corridor. This one by far is the best quality. The beef taste great, and the turkey pit has lots of flavor. Not a 5 Star Restaurant, but it’s not bad for a roadside stand.

This place rules! They said they are cousin of Chaps down the road but these guys make bigger, better sandwich that will get you home to NJ. Great OC fries. Have to try the crab soup next time. They are in the parking lot of a go kart place. An easy place to get to off 95 north and get around some of the White Marsh area traffic.
